Three Cutters On Pearl

I moved to Denver and needed a trusty stylist and colorist and found it here with Jessica. She spent a near four hours on me and explained everything ahead of time. She washed, cut, bleached, toned, and conditioned my hair and I left very happy with an undercut silver pixie– exactly what I wanted. The salon includes tip in the price, so it’s actually affordable in comparison to other salons. They also offer tea and coffee to you, and the salon is aveda so all products are top of the line. The music is also nice– a good mix, not your normal ‘salon/​spa’ playlist.

I have goddamn mermaid hair.
I’ve gone my whole life wanting mermaid hair but never getting it. I thought my hair was weird or I was weird. Like… you know when you order an Egg McMuffin at McDonald’s and the reality is terribly disappointing compared to the picture on the menu? It’s smashed and oozing and kind of beige. Yeah, that was my hair.
After not being able to schedule an appointment with a new stylist here in a timely manner after Maggie left, I went elsewhere. But after a bad cut and a stylist who didn’t want to do anything about it, I found Justin’s old email telling me he would give me 50% off my next cut if I came back to Three Cutters. So, I called and asked the receptionist if that offer was still good. She said it was. I scheduled with Sarah.
It turns out the 50% off wasn’t still good and didn’t happen. So, minus the star. I know it has been a long time since Justin offered that, but she could have just told me when I asked rather than letting me think I’d get it and then not.
Oh, and the lighting in there makes me look a million years old.
But I have mermaid hair. Goddamn mermaid hair.

Always love getting my haircut here. I leave refreshed and co rodent. Sarah is amazing!

I have very thick, coarse, wavy hair. Sarah has done an amazing job of taming it. It actually has movement and flow now instead of being a bushy mess. She also colored it a beautiful rich brown with lovely highlights. I am very happy with my hair. She is very talented.

As a newbie to the Denver area, I found this place here on Unilocal.William’s attention to detail, recommendations, and haircutting/​styling knowledge make him an amazing artist. We discussed together what kind of look I was going for and he gave me some recommendations that were personalized to my hair type and face shape. Then he showed me how to style it. I really like this educational and individualized approach. Very cute and clean salon (that plays awesome music) in a quiet residential area.

Three Cutters’ new esthetician Meghan is the absolute best waxer in Denver! She is confident, efficient, unbelievably friendly and minimizes all pain. She is the only person I will see for a Brazilian wax in Denver (I go to college out of state and have yet to find someone who compares…) and I actually look forward to each appointment. Waxing — especially down under — is usually a dreaded experience, but with Meghan, you will be talking, laughing and completely forgetting about any pain as she expertly removes anything & everything. Meghan is extremely experienced and does a great job, but more importantly, she is hilarious and an awesome person to hang out with. She makes you feel so comfortable and I especially recommend her to anyone who has a low tolerance for pain. Love seeing Meghan! She is amazing!

Jessica R. did a great job cutting my grown out short hair to a funky fun (even shorter) cut that looked exactly like the picture I brought her. She was fun to talk to and I appreciated the extra attention she gave with the scalp, neck and shoulder massage before the cut. I have a sensitive scalp and she was careful to not pull on or overheat my scalp when working. She made sure I knew exactly what she was going to do before she did it. Although I am easy going and my hair is very cooperative, I recommend her to all types of people looking for a great stylist in W. Wash Park.

I love my stylist, Tessa Kendall, but I recently had the most frustrating experience with the salon. I had scheduled an appointment for a highlight and a cut. I am a new Mom, so arranging for someone to watch my daughter so I can get my hair done can be challenging. My husband agreed to take a half day off work so that I could make an afternoon appointment which is all my stylist had available. When I get to the salon they do not have my appointment on the books and my stylist is out unexpectedly because of an injury, which I was not notified about. The receptionist only offered to reschedule with no apology. I will not be coming back to this salon even though I love my stylist.

Jessica is the absolute best! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Everyone is very welcoming and know how to make you feel great! I highly recommend this salon.

Scott is by far the best stylist I have encountered in Denver. I am hesitant to write this review because he’s already so hard to get an appointment with! He is extremely talented at what he does and always makes me look amazing. He’s also a really lovely person as well! Rest of staff is pleasant, kind and professional. With a busy schedule like mine, the few hours I get to spend at three cutters is always a treat each month… Go!

This place is the bees knees! I simply looked up Aveda salons in Denver, and was lucky enough to pick this place. So quaint and cute. I was lucky enough to have Tessa cut my hair, and she was fabulous. Really sweet, super patient with me (I’m one of those people who goes in and just says «do whatever», which I know is terrible) and just down to Earth. She ended up fixing a chunk of my hair that had previously been butchered, and I asked for her personal opinion for my bangs, and she got it spot on. I really loved this place! I only cut my hair 2 – 3 times a year, and I know it’ll be here!

Really SO impressed with the cut and service I got from William at Three Cutters. He was such a pleasure and even showed me great tips/​products to style. For a killer value (no tipping salon), William gave me a textured cut with tons of movement. Feel very Parisian these days! Totally reshaped my recent soccer mom trim. Found his work on Instagram on a trip in from Aspen (where cuts are criminally overpriced!). He even knew of my inspiration stylist without having to show a photo. Plus, who doesn’t love the Aveda products and complimentary shoulder massage?

Scott at Three Cutters is a gem. My experience there was top notch. Scott is so knowledgeable when it comes to not only cut but color. He is personable and professional.
Three Cutters is an intimate and makes their clients feel special. I would highly recommend the salon and Scott for cut and color!

Getting my eyebrows waxed always gives me a mini panic attack, but rest assured with Justin you’re in excellent hands!!! Justin was super friendly, hilarious and most definitely accommodating! My eyebrows look fabulous because of his attention to detail. From waxing to plucking to giving me a special lotion to help prevent a breakout — he was awesome. I can’t imagine going anywhere else, this place is a gem!

I had my hair cut by Jessica about a month ago and wanted to wait to write review as my hair always looks great walking out of the salon, but the trick is how it looks once I wash it on my own… and I was not disappointed! This was my first time at Three Cutters, which I found on Unilocal,and I went to chop off about 12 – 14 inches to donate to locks of love. Needless to say I was super nervous as I have not had short hair for over 10 years! Jessica was great and helped me decide how to cut and showed me a picture of what she was thinking. She did a great job and I will definitely go back. I don’t love the whole pushing of product thing they do at the end, but hey ya gotta make a buck somehow (and yes it totally worked and I bought 2 things).s

Sarah cut my hair back in December 2014 and she did a good job. When I first called, I had asked for someone who was really experienced and who could cut long medium coarse, wavy hair well. The receptionist told me about how Sarah is a pro with layers for wavy hair, and is so awesome that she has even done trainings for corporate. When I entered the salon, I was a little scared because it’s not too hip of a place in terms of décor, and I generally like fashion forward places, but things turned out fine. I am trying to grow out the layers from a previous hair cut, which I am not a fan of, and Sarah really listened and talked to me about different options. She cut it one way, but said that if I didn’t like it, I could come back within a week to get it cut again for free. That’s pretty awesome.
Visit 2:
I went back to get my hair cut again earlier today (April 10, 2015) with Sarah. It’s one of the best cuts of my life! I told her that I felt my hair was a little too heavy and wanted my long layers to look cleaner, classy, and healthy. She did an excellent job! My husband even noticed and said my hair had great movement. I’m generally super picky about my hair, and it’s really hard for me to find someone who does things to such a high standard and really listens. I finally found someone who I really trust and I am super excited to have found Sarah! :)

Jessica gave me the best cut and color of my life! I was scheduled for only a color, but she helped me out and did both! So thankful! I love this place and recommend it for anyone, guys or gals!

I don’t want to tell you about how much I love this salon because I secretly want to hoard these amazing stylists all to myself. I realize this isn’t a great business model so I will share the love, reluctantly.
I have been going to Three Cutters on Pearl for two years now and had been seeing Maggie (and loved her). However, she has since moved (happy for her — she’s now dancing her heart out in Arkansas) and today I am seeing Sarah (per Maggie’s recommendation). Sarah is just the nicest (so easy to talk to, listens to your hair desires, and makes you feel super comfortable, which is important during your first visit with a new stylist). Although Sarah is a bit more expensive due to her years of experience — you get what you pay for and it’s well worth it– hand massage, head massage, and beautifully cut and colored hair. I receive so many compliments after a fresh cut/​color here! I have personally referred 7 or so friends here for good reason and to my knowledge they love it too! The stylists/​staff are so friendly, welcoming, chatty, cheerful and make me laugh. I’m a huge supporter of Aveda in general because the products don’t burn my scalp and it’s great for my hair (some of the smells aren’t my favorite, but the quality of the products are amazing). The atmosphere is modest — not swanky and is the perfect local neighborhood salon.
With all of this said, please don’t come here. If you start coming here that means it’s harder for me to make appointments and like I said… I want these stylists to be my personal stylists.
So, here’s my compromise: we treat this salon like a speak-​easy. Only spread the word to your most favorite people. Keep the riff-​raff out of here.
So with great hesitation, I highly recommend this salon! :-)

I have been going to Three Cutters on Pearl for about a year now. I see Sarah for my hair and Justin for my eyebrows.
Sarah is wonderful. She is consistently upbeat and takes pride in her work. I can always trust her to listen to and execute exactly what I want and she always provides me quality, honest feedback when I ask her for it. She also goes out of her way to show me ways to style my hair at home, including a demonstration of exactly how much product to use, tools & techniques to style, etc. Sarah always makes me feel welcome and always provides me a relaxing, enjoyable experience.
Justin is fab. My eyebrows needed some major work when I started with him due to having waxed with my quick nail lady on the reg. Justin planned with me to grow out my brows over time for a natural brow shape. My eyebrows are naturally super light (I’m a redhead) so he also dyes them. We have had to figure out the right color over time but we finally have it. I personally think eyebrows are super important to your overall look, so I really appreciate the long-​term planning and collaborating service Justin provides me. Justin is also just super fun. We usually giggle, have ridiculous conversations, and/​or sing songs for the duration of my appointment.
Three Cutters on Pearl has a very organized and efficient scheduling system, and the salon itself is always clean and never over-​crowded. Kayla the receptionist always has a smile on her face. She’s also great at recommending and applying makeup.
This is a well-​run, welcoming, and more than satisfactory salon and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new place.

Scott is a fantastic stylist. He’s talented as well as professional. He knows his Aveda color inside and out. He continues to learn by taking additional education as well as being a teacher and mentor to other stylists. I always get so many great compliments on my hair– even weeks after getting a new cut and color by Scott. He’s a hair genius!
