The Gourmet Spoon

I took an Italian-​themed gourmet cooking class here with about a dozen of my coworkers for a team building event. The experience and the food that we all made from scratch blew away my expectations! The kitchen facilities are impressive, and the chef and staff were very helpful and friendly. The chef was very knowledgeable (I learned a bunch of tips on how to be more efficient at food prepping) and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Before the class started, they had a table prepared for us with tasty hors d’eouvres (salami cuts, cheese, hummus, olives, crackers) to snack on. There was also a nice selection of wines, beer, and water for drinks. The class itself was a lot of work and it was great to be preparing multiple dishes together as a group. I learned so many neat tips and tricks on how to slice and dice vegetables and cook pasta. Towards the end, we were all amazed and proud to have completed a delicious 5-​course dinner from scratch!
While I went to this place for a corporate event, I highly recommend it for birthday parties, bachelorette parties, group events, and intimate gatherings.

My workplace had a team building event here a few months ago, Team building while cooking? Count me in! I was so excited when I first heard our team building event was going to be at a culinary school but soon started to fear that it could turn into an episode of Hell’s Kitchen.
I walked in and was in culinary heaven– a seating area and a clean, neat kitchen with mixers, spices, pots and pans galore not to mention a gorgeous display of fresh ingredients. We started off with a glass of wine, thankfully so because things can only get better between coworkers when knives and liquor are brought into the mix right? I tend to have a glass of wine while cooking so I felt like I was at home and it was relaxing before starting a night of team building plus education. They went over the safety basics of the class along with some kitchen basics –not to grab a hot pan with a wet towel, how to slice an onion and why you shouldn’t creep up behind people when they have a knife in hand. Some people were in amazement by these lessons which endears me but also saddens me.
From there, we broke out into groups and each of us were responsible for a dish of the meal, such as guacamole, fish tacos, etc. The team building could have been better thanks to certain personalities that I was paired up with but the instruction and organization of the class was by far one of the best I’ve seen out there. The employees were helpful and knowledgeable and in the end, all the teams set out the foods and it was a success of an evening! Even better was after dinner there was still one more team building event and that was making tequila bananas flambé.
