Sur La Table

Loved their Thanksgiving themed cooking class! While I wish there was a bit more hands-​on action, I loved the people we worked with!

Our friend visiting from the Dominican Republic, and an excellent cook, wanted to make us a paella and we needed a big paella pan. We went down to World Market but they only had a small one. We asked the cashier if they had any bigger one’s in stock but she said no and for us to try Sur La Table.
We called the store and they had one big one in stock and that they would save it for us. We were there in less than 10 minutes. Thankfully the pan was on sale so we got it for a good price.
Both clerks were very friendly and helpful.

This place has pretty fun cooking classes. I’ve only done the ones with the pastry chef but they were all enjoyable. You learn so much and Brett, the pastry chef, shares a lot of helpful hints for high altitude baking.
There was one class, French Pastries, where a lot of the corporate recipes didn’t turn out. We had to stop and start again — which was frustrating at first but then we also got to learn how to correct recipes which is SO helpful when you’re in your own kitchen.
Every so often, to fill a classroom, they will have classes on sale — and that is TOTALLY worth it. Even at full price, you learn a ton, have a recipe packet, and bring home goodie bags filled with treats.
Also, if you take a class, you get a 10% off your purchase coupon to use in the store the same day which is handy.
Be careful though — every time I leave Sur La Table, I have dreams of upgrading everything in my kitchen — because they use and sell the very best. Clever marketing at its best.

Cooking enthusiasts unite!
When attempting to make a new dish at home inevitably we find out we don’t have every kitchen gadget or bowl known to mankind (who knew). When deciding to make turkey pot pies out of leftovers we quickly found out we did not have the ramekins suitable for pot pie making. We were on a mission to find ramekins and immediately thought of every store but Sur La Table. After our failed visit to the neighboring store we thought that maybe Sur La Table would have what we needed. Voila! Sur La Table to the rescue.
Not only did Sur La Table have the ramekins, they were on sale and only $ 4 each. We ended up buying a set of six beautiful classic white ramekins that have already been used twice. The pot pies tasted that much better because we had the right cookware, and possibly because the base of any good pot pie is butter (yum).
Sur La Table has a little bit of everything from pots, every kind of utensil, baking accessories, cookie cutters (so cute), dishware and every cooking knic knac one would ever require. I can see Sur La Table fitting the need for just about anything kitchen related. It would also be the perfect destination for a thoughtful hostess gift.
After Christmas I was able to snag two packs of Holiday cocktail napkins for half off, such a deal. Next year I’m also going to scope out their Christmas ornaments, they have some really fun food related ornaments that would be perfect for our tree, the ice cream sandwich being a favorite as well as the Chinese takeout container. The selection was too picked over the day after Christmas so I think I’ll be paying full price next year.
Sur La Table has the variety and the reasonable prices I look for when stocking my kitchen and house with the necessities and the non-​necessities. They will be my first stop for kitchen items going forward.

I heart Sur La Table!
I have yet to take advantage of a cooking class at one of their stores, but I’m no stranger to shopping incessantly, their customer service, or knife sharpening capabilities.
I love to cook & bake at home and probably have some higher quality products in my kitchen than I’d care to admit, but I really think they carry great stuff here. And aside from dish towels which always seem exorbitantly expensive, everything is pretty reasonably priced for the quality you’re getting. I’ve never felt gouged on the prices here.
I also love checking out the clearance shelves in the back corner of the store in the bookcase. You can find some great things in there!

Stopped in this weekend 11.07.14 to grab a bday gift card for 2 cooking classes :) always love this store. Friendly service and always helpful staff. Plus I love all their seasonal new items!

Great selection and easy registry access. However, when ringing us up, the cashier has to ring us up three separate times because she kept forgetting to discount the items per the display. Also, we paid and additional $ 5 for gift wrapping, but all that bought us was a cardboard box and a bow. We felt like the customer service was really lacking.

This is the first Sur la Table I ever visited and I fell in love with this store. Loved the selection of baking products, particularly since they carry King Arthur Flour products which can be pricy if ordered from their online store. They also have store brand products which are much cheaper which is great when not wanting to splurge on the highest quality product.
They carry good quality products but at the same time I feel all the products are essential cookware. Unlike other store at CCN, instead of showcasing a fancy line of products, Sur la table has a diverse array of brands and products. The staff is great and very helpful. Love that they have cooking classes and hope to attend one of them soon!

I absolutely love this store. If you’re a foodie or love to cook then you will love this store. I have gotten some of my favorite kitchen items here. Love, love, love this store! It is a little expensive, but you know what they say… you get what you pay for.
