The location, the selection, the crowd… Everything is perfect for a mid-30s milquetoast dude like myself. In my brief and rare visits, I have never felt the pressure of the growing crowd of absolute hipsters that are prevalent in Denver to try to represent myself as something of a ‘hip cat’. I enjoy being comfortably dressed and relaxed when I drink any type of beer. Hell, I would even be comfortable drinking a nice glass of wine in this place. Good food, too. It’s very edible.

This place is a great neighborhood bar. Wednesday wing night gets packed, so go early or later in the night. The other food is mediocre, but not the type of place you go for dinner. But a great plate to watch the game.

Absolutely the WORST service I’ve ever had at a bar! I stopped in to grab a quick drink while walking around running errands, and the bartender ignored me for almost 10 minutes after I sat at the bar. I waved twice, he looked straight at me, and went over to a coworker and started chatting. Other nice patrons had to help me get him to come over to get my order. Ridiculous! Get over yourself, I’m in the industry and I wouldn’t treat someone this way. Don’t go here, there are way better bars in the neighborhood that don’t treat you like crap!

I come here for Wing night every now and then. $ 6 all you can eat wings and $ 8.50 pitchers of Bud Light. Their wings are really good and the service is always spot on. We tried their«extra hot» wings last night. They use ghost pepper in the sauce and I could only eat one. It left my mouth with the normal«this is hot» gasping for air and trying to fit my mouth inside my beer pint. The stranger effect was that I felt floaty, and almost light headed, kind of fun. The owner brought us the extra hot and wanted to see us try one. I always like a place where the owner is on the floor, running food, etc. I would rec for Wing Night! it gets crowded fast, esp their patio on a nice night. On hot days, they have misters!

4 stars for Wing Night! I’ve been coming here for wing night for awhile. Its usually busy so I’d recommend coming a little early to get enough seats for your group. Although its busy, the service was great. I came to meet my group late and the server remembered my water and the wings came fast after ordering. My favorite are the Asian and Buffalo style wings. Great pub atmosphere.

I keep coming back and eating the wings, that says something. It is really three stars, but the service has been so spot on, I have to bump it up. I would classify this as a divey sports bar. Patio shuts down at 11, I guess because of noise by laws. The specials they have on different days can really rock. Like Tuesday is half off appetizers, and Wednesday is all you can eat wings for 6 $ The interior and tables, do not feel super clean, hence the dive. The server we have had the last couple time is top notch, really she is part of my rating, as she is really on it. They have a couple patio areas, which are crowded and smokey. It can be hard finding a spot during the wing mayhem.

This is your average neighborhood bar with decent drink prices, sports on the tv, and pool tables. They do a pretty good mac-n-cheese with bacon though. Service was a bit slow, but so was I, so it worked out pretty well.

Went for wing night because of the $ 6 all you can eat and every review said this is why you go to this sports bar. So let’s call it what it is, $ 6 all you can eat wings that were pretty good, served in a handful of favors with good service. Pub isn’t trying to be a 5 star restaurant or a soup kitchen so rate it for what it is, stocked bar with good wings at good prices, at least on Wednesday.

Chill atmosphere and free pool! This was a great stop in our visit to Denver. We got two beers and went into the back room to watch basketball and chill. It seemed like a hub for lots of the 20⁄30 something locals. If I was in the area again, and wanted a cold beer and some fun, I would definitely go back!

Went out with friends and one friend had to bring outside food because of her(life-threatening) food allergy. Everyone else in the party was eating the bar’s food but the waitress wouldn’t let her eat her outside food. The waitress made her cry and she had to eat in the car before she could join us. Terrible service. Food was average.

Wednesday is wing night! I’m a fan of their $ 5 wing night. They have several varieties, naked, hot, barbecue, spicy garlic and and an Asian one(I think!). I recently discovered that you HAVE to order a soft drink or beer so it’s technically not just $ 5, still a good deal nonetheless. My personal favorite is the spicy garlic. You have to order at least 5 wings at a time and I’m always mildy ashamed at how many wings I challenge myself to eat. The service here is good, in my experience. They’re obviously super busy but I feel like the servers try their best. I would recommend getting here early, like before 6 if you want a table. I’m not a fan of the smoking on the patio, it’s a personal preference so fyi. I’ll definitely be back here!

This is one of the worst bars I’ve ever been to. Sad crowd, sadder service, the limpest, most tasteless bar food you can imagine. One server for basically the entire place, catching her is nearly impossible. Ordered an eggplant parm, and was told *as they brought out the rest of my group’s food* that they«couldn’t find the eggplant.» Had to order something else, which I received after the rest of my group was finished eating. Horrible music blaring from busted, tinny speakers. Couldn’t leave fast enough and will never, ever return.

$ 5 all you can eat wings, and they are actually big and taste pretty dang good. Hey, the more you eat the cheaper they get! Service can be extremely bad at times but that is expected when it is busy. Although there are a couple waitresses with terrible attitudes that quite often ignore you for 30 – 60 minutes at a time. I don’t need to mention names, you’ll be able to spot them ant tip(or not) accordingly.

Love it. Love it love it love it. I went on a Wednesday after my friend suggested the unlimited wings for $ 5. Everything was amazing. As to be expected, it was hard to find a place to sit but once I did I settled in with a tall glass of Strongbow and got to work on the wings. As if living up to expectation the bartenders were very nice and friendly, and knowledgeable of their drinks. The wings were phenomenal and while I would have loved to get more than five at a time I realize wings that quality take time to pump out in such numbers. The atmosphere, the location, the friendly patrons and staff, and the amazing food and drink get a five star rating from me and I will be back next week!

I used to almost live in this building back in the Netherworld days, and I stopped in today after a decade’s absence to soak in the vibe and see what changed. It may have helped that I hit it today during Halloween week when it will have regained some of its former gloomy décor, but the important stuff? Still there! Counter-culture music on the jukebox, friendly staff, ice-cold beer on the taps, a few more pool tables to while away the weekend hours, and a core contingent Capitol Hill regulars that have always been in the scene. I wouldn’t want to hang there during a sporting event(saw the army of flat panels staring down at me from the walls) but it is still a perfectly respectable neighborhood bar.

There’s been a bar on this corner as long as I’ve lived in Capitol Hill. And that bar has always focused on their young, mostly-broke Capitol Hill neighbors to great success. Pub on Penn does this by being cheap, offering a wide selection of drinks and having good food. It’s the type of place that welcomes regulars to stay the day and hang out. It doesn’t try to be cool and is cooler as a result. If I have to ding it a little, it would be because the service can be very slow and occasionally wrong(I’ve more than once received things I did not order). As Capitol Hill changes and becomes more hip and expensive, it’s comforting that places like Pub on Penn carry on and serve the Capitol Hill of old.

It’s a regular ol’ routine for my husband and his buddies to meet on Wednesdays for $ 5 all you can eat wings. The number of wings they eat on those nights is truly disgusting. Finally I broke through their male barrier so I could try these wings because I was curious. I am a cheap wing date as it is, so taking me to an AYCE place is a smidge silly, but I did manage to eat two baskets of 5 – 6 wings so consider me impressed(with myself!). I tried a basket of buffalo and a basket of spicy garlic and the latter was by far my favorite. I also traded a buffalo for the gator dust variety that my husband prefers, but I found the spice rub far too dry. We shared a couple of domestic pitchers with a friend and all left dutifully stuffed. While the wings are a great deal, especially if you like to have wing eating contests like the mature adult men I know, this place is packed to the gills and loud as hell on Wednesdays. It wasn’t just loud from the crowd, the music was eardrum blasting. Even our little group of three could barely converse around our small table. Since that’s not my normal vibe, I won’t rush back. Then again, it will probably be a long while before I get invited on another boy’s night, ha ha.

Was with some friends looking for happy hour and an outdoor patio last night and planned on going to Tavern. However, their patio was reserved for the night so we ended up at Pub on Penn. Our server(Alli) was great and very attentive, but the food was not good. Granted, it was not on a Wednesday night(i know they’re mostly known for their $ 5 all you can eat wings), but the fish and chips I ordered were not good. The food tasted like the oil it was cooked in had been sitting for weeks, and the fries were way overcooked(dark brown). The fish was standard(I’m assuming it came pre-breaded and frozen, so hard to really mess up), but was not served with lemon or tartar sauce, which I had to ask for. The happy hour drink prices were great($ 2 for draft bud light, $ 2.50 for well drinks), which I would DEFINITELY come back for. However, I will either come on a Wednesday for wings, or eat dinner beforehand.

Um, can I mention that are all you can eat wings on Wednesday night for five dollars? Yes, five dollars. As in, take my Lincoln(plus tip) because I am eating like a queen tonight! Gotta get my roomy jeans on and a very forgiving top because I am eating enough wings to feed a village. It gets crowded, but if you’re patient, you can usually find a table. The wait is never that bad. Get over yourself. And it’s always a good place to meet new people. The only downside to bottomless wing night is that there are no liquor specials. Just cheap pitchers. My double whiskey diet coke costs as much as a pitcher of a beer, but oh well. I man up and still buy my whiskey because that is what makes me happy on wing night. Why would I come here any other night? You can get hot, medium, mild, Asian, spicy garlic, bbq, or gator dust(dry). I’ve tried them all(except the gator dust) and all are pretty darn tasty. The service is a bit abysmal on Wednesdays because the servers have no clue what is going on. But all you can eat wings? I suppose I can cut some slack here. Is there a reason to come here on other nights? No, I don’t believe there is.
