All of our practitioners are highly trained, professional and personable.

Lisa loves to treat pregnancy, fertility, pain, children and eczema.

Ignacia loves to treat pain, sports injuries, depression, and arthritis.

Matthew loves to treat multiple sclerosis, anxiety, insomnia, and pain.

Our practitioners are also Spanish speaking.

History

Established in 2011.

Lisa co-​founded Meeting Point Community Acupuncture in 2007, which was the first community-​style acupuncture center in Denver. She sold her practice in November 2010 after deciding she wanted to expand in order to make Chinese herbs more affordable as well as acupuncture.

Business Owner

Lisa has a Masters of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She studied at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California and at the Cheng Du University Hospital in Sichuan, China. Having been practicing since 2003, Lisa is nationally certified by the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and fully licensed in the states of Colorado and California.

Having grown up gardening and tincturing herbs with her Grandma Ginny in northern Wisconsin, she is now excited to offer custom herbal formulas as well as personally crafted tinctures and poultices.

Having been in practice since 2003, Lisa has treated a variety of patients. She finds that she gets particularly great results with women’s issues, eczema, depression and pain. Since having a daughter in 2008 (and another in 2010) Lisa has been treating more and more children and find that they respond very quickly to regular treatment.

Pin & Tonic is my first experience with acupunture, selected based on my counsin’s rave reviews and the excellent pricing. Gabriella spent plenty of time with me during my Initial session, asking why I was interested in acupunture and what I hoped to get out of the session, as well as conducting a holistic health review. This location is very clean and feels very hygenic and I highly recommend it to anyone.

This place is Awesome! First time ever getting acupuncture and it was a great experience. I will be going back tomorrow for my 2nd appt in a row. My back is offset and having spasms. The use of acupuncture and suction cups decreased the pressure I was feeling. Definitely recommended!

Miracle workers here… my Mother needed help sleeping and had tried everything… a clean, safe and professional staff… unlike some establishments, Pin and Tonic has a wheelchair lift!

I’ve been a big fan of acupuncture for several years but had not been doing it regularly. Then my friend suggested I see Ignacia — that was a year ago and I’m still going. I can’t say enough good things about Pin and Tonic AND Ignacia. Community acupuncture is definitely different but as another reviewer mentions, there is enough white noise that you zone out easily.
Pin and Tonic makes acupuncture affordable and accessible. Ignacia is fantastic — very knowledgeable and interested in working with you to solve your problems. She has a holistic approach I especially appreciate — combining acupuncture with herbs if need be.
I recommend P&T to everyone. One thing I especially like is the ease of scheduling appointments — there is almost always an appointment open for the time I need and if not the front desk staff is great in finding something that works. It’s a great place!

I love this place. I’ve had to get acupuncture a couple times in the past for recurring back pain, and I was a bit wary about the quality of community acupuncture, but everyone here is super friendly and knowledgeable. I can afford it, but most importantly, it is actually helping.

Matthew at Pin and Tonic is my new regular acupuncturist. His genuine interest in chinese medicine is evident in the way he insightfully answers all the questions I’m always asking. He excels at helping me sort out which of my bodily observations are rooted in unbalance, and which ones are nothing more than hypochondriac enigmas. He never hesitates to look up what he doesn’t know, and I frequently see him consulting books up front. He is a man of knowledge. And maybe a wizard. The herbs he blends for my daily tonic are pure magic, from their scent to the smooth texture of my tea to the accumulative benefits I am seeing after drinking them for the past two months.
Matthew’s overall demeanor is very attuned, at ease, and jovial. When needling he is quick and efficient, and needles are always placed in proper points at proper depth. I frequently will fall asleep into a dream state within minutes of having him insert needles. I take «a little longer to cook» and often ask for extra time to relax during my session, which Matthew graciously accommodates.
Since visiting Pin and Tonic, I have noticed big improvements in digestion, quality of sleep, dreams, overall energy, radiance, mood, and mental clarity. Really, just life in general. I seem to work and create and clean and love more efficiently, and I’m calmer and more at peace. I’m both happy and extremely grateful to Matthew and Pin and Tonic for this wizardry.

Pin and Tonic is the perfect model for how a community health clinic/​business should operate. The acupuncture staff is excellent and incredibly knowledgable, Ignacia always takes the time to check in w/​clients and exudes her warm kindness, Lisa (the owner) is very present and makes personal connections w/​clients and Matthew’s insightfulness makes for a great treatment. The staff hosts specialty events in the evenings so you can make sure to make it after work, but sign up fast bc they fill up quickly. Additionally, massages offered for a decent price in the same location can’t really be beat.

I am definitely a fan of Pin + Tonic. I have had mixed results with Community Acupuncture places but P+T really does a nice job.
Presentation is great. It is well lit, clean and professional (a lot of CA places are not sadly). Everyone on staff is very friendly and helpful. My first visit they gave me the rundown, what to expect for that appointment and going forward — which left me at ease.
From there I have seen two of the practitioners, Matthew and Ignacia. Both of them are wonderful — I will see either, really just depends on what time I can go. They absolutely listen to me and what concerns I have or what I want to focus upon and set up a treatment. I usually sit for about an hour once the needles are in. Despite it being a community atmosphere there is enough white noise so we’re not all snoring in unison (yep, sometimes you fall deep asleep!) and I never feel crowded or uncomfortable.
If you are looking for an affordable place to check out acupunture I absolutely recommend Pin + Tonic. They care about you, they make you feel comfortable and offer a lot of really great services including herbs and supplementary (mostly free) classes.

First let me say that I have no idea how acupuncture works. I don’t worry about it, to be honest. I decided to try it out as I have a few health concerns that I don’t want to only rely on my medical doctors to handle. I am of the belief that you heal the actual problem and not just treat the symptoms. So I went to see Ignacia to get some help. Ignacia is an incredibly kind and caring healer. She has taken so much time to get to know what my issues are and find out a thorough history. She has spent a great deal of time researching Chinese herbs to find out what I should be taking to help me and to avoid any drug interactions with my current medication. I have had some pretty amazing experiences with acupuncture since I started going to Pin & Tonic. The environment here is very calm, peaceful and caring. It is such a nice escape to be able to come here and not only get a break from it all, but come out at the end of the appointment in better condition than when I came in. They are very affordable and I would highly recommend this place to anybody I know or not.

I’ve been having acupuncture at Pin and Tonic twice a week for a number of months. It is what has been a huge part of my recovery from Adrenal Fatigue. I continue to feel better each week and my energy has returned to about 95%. The treatments are relaxing, I usually see either Lisa or Ignacia, both are very skilled and are great listeners as well. Because of the affordability of the treatments, the investment in my health also fits into my budget. Acupuncture has been a Godsend to me over the course of the past 25 years.

I believe! I have to admit I went in a tad skeptical and the skeptic in me was silenced along with many of my aches and pains. I had a very tender elbow — so tender it hurt when I leaned on it — while still tender the pain has diminished considerably. The biggest change — no more cramps! I went from doubled over in pain, nauseated 10 on a scale of 10 down to 1 – 2 on a scale of 10– I know! I have been going for over 3 months now and have felt a world of improvement not to mention it is a time for me void of interruption and electronics — bliss!

Color me impressed and super misinformed. I really am shocked. I made an appt. with Ignacia, one of the acupuncturists. I had seen her before and she helped so when I could barely use my right hand to type (10 key especially) because my doctor said I have carpel tunnel, I thought I might as well try it and see if she could help me again.
I had to be optimistic, my only other option was drugs/​surgery. So off I went, to have an appt. with Ignacia. We first had a consultation and determined what I needed help with and she explained things to me very well. The do a group acupuncture room, so what this means is you will be let into the quite room and you can pick one of a dozen different spots to have your treatment, either in a recliner or a massage table. Once you settle in (you can get blankets to keep you comfy) your acupuncturist will come over and treat you. One the pins are in, you sit for about an hour or so. I have fallen asleep and it is pleasant. Once your time is up, you’ll be nudged awake and the pins come out and your done.
I’m so glad I went and saw Ignacia, she did a few treatments on me and despite having needles stuck into my foot (thankfully, it doesn’t really hurt!) I began to feel relief! I was amazed at how much this has helped me and I am truly thankful. This had become a huge issue with my work, as I one realized I only hit the space bar with my right thumb and to 10-​key, but I can happily type reviews again!
