Paradise 4 Paws Denver

Our dog just completed her first visit, a week-​long stay at Paradise4Paws Denver International Airport, and we couldn’t be more pleased.
She is a 10 year-​old small dog and has stayed at numerous kennels throughout her life, though mostly at the same one for many years. More often lately she has been coming home with a variety of ailments that cost us veterinarian fees in addition to her kennel stay. She stayed at a different kennel last Christmas and came home hoarse! I didn’t know a dog could go hoarse but she’s not going back to that kennel.
We drove to the airport for a Paradise tour and were impressed with the facilities. Each dog has its own ROOM, not a cage, kennel, or crate. There are glass doors on the rooms and you can pay extra for an in-​room viewing camera and TV.
There are two large exercise rooms, one for small dogs and one for large. They each have astro-​turf for taking care of business and water pools for the water-​frolic inclined. Did I mention that all facilities are indoors? Yes the dogs quickly smell the proper place and do use it.
The entrance application is lengthy, be prepared for that. The list of required tests and vaccinations is long too, but that’s a good thing. Plan in advance.
For our dog’s first stay we opted for 3 days in a room with camera and tv so we could observe her. We requested the tv be turned off as our dog watches avidly and barks at the tv at home. The remainder of her stay was in a lower priced room.
We also opted for 3 ‘cuddle’ times over the week stay. For this our dog received personal time with an assistant who played tug and catch with her and her toys.
There is a very lengthy list of a la carte items available, including veterinary services (!), grooming, and training.
Things I liked:
1.Private rooms, no cages, crates, or kennels.
2. In-​room camera if desired. (I don’t expect we will need it in the future.)
3 .Online play area cameras.
4. Cuddle time if desired.
5. 4 times a day in play areas: morn. potty break, morn. exercise (c. 2 hrs), afternoon exercise (c. 2 hrs), evening potty break.
6. Small dogs are small, not big ‘gentle’ dogs.
7. Followed care instructions correctly.
8. ²⁴⁄₇ drop-​off and pickup. No need to take our dog to a kennel a day in advance because of conflicting flight times.
9. Person on site ²⁴⁄₇.
10. Parking and shuttle to the terminal is available if desired, with reasonable pricing.
Things I didn’t like:
While watching play time we observed a few dogs being very frisky and somewhat aggressive. I didn’t see any fights though and our dog was uninjured.
We have reservations for another stay. I also expect I would take our dog here if we go away on road trips. The drive to the airport is worth it for the quality of care provided. I cannot imagine our dog can get any better care at any other kennel. I recommend Paradise4Paws.

A fantastic facility that works with our little trouble maker! Marla has always had a tough time learning to play with others without getting over stimulated. Other kennels have let her play with the group for 10 minutes and then she’s sent back to her kennel. Paradise 4 Paws works with her to teach her proper manners during play time and now she is a great playmate! She loves playing with her new friends and it’s a blessing to see how much she’s grown socially, at a place that isn’t even necessarily a training facility! We feel great about leaving her there, knowing that she’ll be well taken care of. During her last stay she was in one of the private suites with a web camera. I happened to be watching when an employee entered the suite and gave Marla a sweet hug and loving attention. The staff here is excellent and truly care about our little fury family member. Bravo!

I had to write this review as soon as possible to inform anyone who cares about their animal to NEVER even consider this place.
Having my normal pet sitting avenue cancel on me last minute, I was forced to make a quick choice about what to do with my Frenchie the morning I had to leave for a business trip.
Having heard about Paradise4Paws on the news and its convenient location to the airport, I made the horrible assumption that it was a place I could trust the care of my. To their credit, my dog was in need of vaccinations, and they were able to accommodate this on a last minute basis so he could stay in their «healthy» environment.
I was informed three days after dropping him of a skin incident, although wasn’t from any type of altercation with another dog, it appeared to be some kind of hot spot or skin infection. Paradise4Paws was in constant communication and made efforts to contact me about status of my animal. Of course, I gave them permission to do anything that’s necessary to ensure that my dog received the best care possible.
He remained in Paradise4Paws care for another six days after I was initially informed of the diagnosis; hot spots, moist dermatitis, a skin infection caused by bacteria. Although my dog has never encountered hot spots before, from my reading, after treatment, they should noticeably mitigate within 48 hours when given the proper treatment and care.
After six days of treatment, my dogs hot spots were still severely inflamed as pictured, and were very shocking to look at. My dog was put in a cone to mitigate his ability to itch the spots, so I can’t come up with a better biological reason other than that my dog sat in his urine covered blanket while trying to heal from this affliction.
Upon my return, I phoned them numerous times, unable to get an answer. I had to take $ 20 taxi from the airport. When I arrived to pick up my dog, they were very persistent about not bringing him out until I had paid the $ 888 bill for his stay and «vet care». Having known that my pup was not in the shape he was in when dropped off, I just wanted to see him. I find it utterly absurd my dog was held hostage until I paid them.
My dog has NEVER had any type of skin issues or problems with moist dermatitis before and within less than twenty four hours of being home, his condition has improved dramatically. Without medication. The staff was also very confused and inconsistent about what and when he was suppose to get the medications he was prescribed and kept saying «oops, one more».
My animal was very dehydrated and his skin had very little elasticity. The minute I walked out of the door, my dog ran for the grass and immediately used the restroom… clearly he had not had a chance to do so for some time. My dog has never had an accident inside and would be sitting at the door with his legs crossed before he ever went in my house. I thought this was unusual behavior but was in such shock about his condition, I felt like I need to just get him home. A short drive later and as soon as gets out of the car, he has to go «number two». Very rarely, unless I have left him home too long alone do I see this kind of urgency.
I purchased a brand new bag of food, which I brought with him for his stay. Although the bag had been opened, I weighed it, and it was a few pounds off from what it should have been, assuming he was fed this specific food at the intervals I took the time to outline.
To make matters worse. My dog who has never had an accident inside, has had several since bringing him home. He smelled like urine when I picked him up, as did the entire facility.
It makes me cringe at the thought I trusted these people with my animal, my child, my best friend and he was so mistreated.
I have revised to review to include points from the manager regarding my dogs soiled bedding.
The manager has replied to my concerns and stated «based on the urine that was found on Eddie’s blankets and your frustrating cab experience», I would be refunded $ 440 dollars.
Normally, I would be very respectful of an attempt to make things right monetarily. However, when it comes to the care of animal… knowing that he sat in his own urine, miserably uncomfortable from «moist dermatitis», which was probably initially caused by either unsanitary conditions, improper care, or inattentiveness of Paradise4Paws staff… I simply can never forgive. No amount of money would make this situation right to me. The only thing I can do is educate everyone who will listen to never bring their animal to «Paradise4Paws».

Terrible! My dog does not do well with others, so I paid extra for extra walks and playtime, I watched the in room camera way too much but never seen anyone come get him, just once filled the water bowl and Simone went in and looked at his back legs. That’s it in the 3 days he was there. Every time I looked I could tell he was stressed. I will never take my dog there again. They clearly don’t care and cost way too much

Horrible experience, DO NOT bring your dogs here!!! My pet sitter canceled the day before my trip, leaving me in a bind. Paradise 4 Paws had availability and offered a 40% discount for people in the Veterinary field (which I later found out is NOT offered at this location, and the girl who booked my reservation provided an estimate $ 300 cheaper than the final bill!). In their defense, they did honor the original price… This is beside the point.
I brought their beds and blanket (fresh out of the wash) and brand new fuzzy toys (with the tags still on!). When I picked them up, every article of bedding completely reeked of urine. Including the toys! The dogs themselves felt dirty and also smelled like urine. It just completely breaks my heart to think these poor babies had to sleep in their own filth possibly every day/​night for 8 days! They never, and I mean NEVER have accidents in the house, much less on their own beds and toys. Makes me sick. The staff could’ve at least washed the bedding and my dogs before I picked them up (considering they charge an arm and a leg).
Nope, they left cold hard evidence of dog abuse!
I myself have an in-​home pet sitting business and only charge $ 50 a night, plus the dogs are bathed at the end. I also work full time as a Client Service Specialist and Vet Tech at an Animal Hospital here in Colorado… Needless to say, I’ll never be using Paradise 4 Paws again, and intend to share my experience with every client that is considering boarding there.

I will NEVER bring my dogs here again. They charge a premium, making you think your animals will get premium care. They will not.
When she finally brought my dogs out, they were frantic. They are normally happy to see me, but there is a huge difference between that and the way they acted. It was very clear they did not get much playtime nor attention. We went outside and the one who is normally very choosy about where she poops, pooped immediately. The other did as well. They also urinated repeatedly before they would get in the car, into which they normally jump right in. So they clearly hadn’t been out at all that day and I picked them up after 11am. When we got in the car, they immediately started licking the condensation off my cold beverage, indicating they hadn’t been given water. I got them a bowl and they simultaneously drank the whole thing (they usually take turns). My dogs were clearly not treated well here. I understand they were fully booked but if you can’t take care of the dogs you promise to, don’t take so many in. I payed $ 78.45 per night for my two small dogs to share their cheapest room. That’s more than it costs to have a professional come stay at your house!
Here’s what I went through to get them:
When I came to pick up my dogs, I was the only customer trying to get and keep the attention of the front desk receptionist, Bessie. She continued to answer the phone and meet the needs of each caller instead of asking them to hold for a moment, while she found out what I wanted. Another staff person came in but Bessie kept beating her to the phone instead of helping me. The person finally told her, «I got it.» Bessie then told me how much it cost before she she showed me the invoice so I paid, prior to seeing that they double charged $ 40 for a fecal test for one dog. When I asked her about it, she took quite a while to stare at it, then look it up in her system to finally tell me that she already ran the card so the refund would have to be processed the following day. The other person, who I found out was a manager, left to pick people up at the airport. When I asked about running the card to process the refund, she said she could do it now but that the refund would take longer with the credit card company, «7−10 business days.» I work in finance so happen to know that’s not how it works. When she put the incorrect invoice in the holder, I just walked over and took it, saying I don’t want my signature on the wrong one. Bessie flipped out and literally began yelling at me about how I couldn’t do that and that there are others’ invoices that they consider sensitive information there. I had never experienced someone be so hostile. I told her I knew that one was mine and didn’t bother pointing out that someone else’s’ signed invoice had been sitting on the counter the whole time. When she demanded that I give it back, I told her I didn’t want her to file the wrong one and that I don’t want my signature on the incorrect invoice. She yelled that this was HER company and then grabbed the invoice from my hands. I was shocked. I was then looking at the correct one on the desk and she snatched it and threw it away. Thinking she wasn’t going to give me my refund, I slipped the wrong one from her hands and asked why she wanted to keep the signed incorrect invoice. She tried to grab it back and tore the corner. The whole experience was surreal. I took the dogs outside and waited for the manager to come back from the airport. The manager apologized profusely, telling me she would have a talk with Bessie, and gave me the $ 40 in cash. However, this could not make up for the insanity I just experienced on top of my dogs clearly not being cared for with even the bare minimum basics for the bargain price of $ 78.45 per day (plus the $ 40 per dog for fecal tests they require).
When walking out (I parked behind the building), I saw the huge number of small dogs in the play area, which is only indoor, crazily barking. It was so sad. Take your animals to City Bark; really anywhere but here. Denver has amazing pet facilities, this just isn’t one of them.

We always used to hesitate before leaving town — even after thoroughly preparing our home and animal sitter. Was the caregiver really staying over night, were our pets being shown attention and let in/​out on their regular schedule? I’ll never know and now we don’t have to give this a second thought! P4P is our new go-​to for our 2 dogs and cat. They are comfortable, well cared for, socialized, and protected while we travel (often) for work. Super convenient at DIA and prices are reasonable. Having a vet on staff makes this a no brainier.

Paradise 4 Paws has the best staff and facility that I’ve experienced in Denver. I’ve tried several other doggie daycares over the years and none compare. Clean, fun, friendly and attentive. I never worry about my fur baby when she’s here. So conveniently close to DIA it makes traveling a breeze. Highly recommend P4P!

Friendly staff but the suites were really cold and not well heated which concerned me. Then after picking up my pet I noticed that the meals I prepared for him were untouched so he wasn’t properly fed. There isn’t a ton of attention on the animals they are mainly left in their suites. Good for one step up for boarding but not right for me or my pet
