Fox Rent A Car Denver

Great little car rental place! As soon as we walked out the door at baggage claim the shuttle was there waiting for us. The terminal is no frills but the bathroom was clean. There was a little bit of a wait at the pick up counter but we have no complaints especially after the excellent service from their agent Tony. He was gracious and quick which was a relief after our long flight into Denver. Lower rental prices was the reason we chose Fox but great customer service will bring us back.

This is a tough review to write. Reserved a full sized SUV. We found out our flight was coming in late and called to let them know we would be getting in after mid-​night. There is no direct phone number to the specific location. Finally, someone picked up after being on hold about 15 mins.
Upon arrival, was told the vehicle reserved is not available «needed to be serviced». They could get me a downgraded one (all the up-​graded ones where already given out). Received a car that was not in great shape. Fortunately, we had a day before we were headed to our destination in Durango. Following morning, send a direct message through Twitter. Gave them our contract # and the situation. Low and behold, received a very quick response, with a personal phone call. They assured me that I would be able to get the SUV reserved and a $ 30 credit on the bill.
Arrived at the expected time, other than having to wait in a 20 min line (seems to not have enough folks to work the counter), received the paperwork and got the car. All worked out in the end.
Bottom line, I should not have had to manage this situation, but I am finding, customer service in many businesses are severely lacking, so if you don’t you will go way upset and at a loss for $$.
As for the toll situation. They did offer the daily pass for the various toll roads. I declined. I use the WAZE app for GPS. I simply did the routing by clicking the avoid toll roads. Worked great. No toll roads used and we went all over Denver. At most, the non-​toll part took no more than 15 min longer.

Once I arrived at Fox Rent a Car from the Denver Airport, I discovered I was going to be charged an extra $ 40 for getting there an hour early.
I then proceeded to wait for nearly 45 minutes before they had a car ready for me to take. But I still had to pay the extra $ 40 which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. The customer service was apathetic and unhelpful, and returning the car was hellish because Fox wasn’t located anywhere near the other rental places. I would never rent with them again because after the extra charge and frustration, I’ll pay a little more next time.

We don’t even have a car yet and this place is a joke. No one seems in a hurry or even working hard… just sauntering around and the line is out the door! At this rate, we’ll never get out of here!!!

Would never rent through this agency again. Was not given the car we reserved. We were nickeled and dimmed for every little charge that was not stated in contract. When we arrived to pick up car there were only two clerks and eight people walking around saying they could not help anyone. Never ever again.

Have been waiting in line for more than an hour in a poorly air conditioned room. I am not looking forward to the actual car since reading the reviews. I wish I would have read them before I chose this Terrible place!!! Hoping I am wrong about the car – we will see.

We just got done with a trip to the Denver area and we had a great experience. Employees were nice and helpful, and our car was clean and in great condition. Returning it was super easy as well. I was also apprehensive due to other negative reviews, but we had no problems!

Update — I finally got a car, and it had never been cleaned from the last renters. Trash all over back seat, smelled bad, etc. The employee on the lot was very helpful, but when I went back inside to the desk, I was met by another employee who was very confused. I did eventually end up with an OK car, but it wasn’t worth the wait or hassle.

I am NOT one to EVER post anything negative; however, I wish I would’ve been warned ahead of time. I have been waiting nearly two hours for a vehicle I booked in advance. The vehicle I requested is not available. I told them I would accept ANY vehicle if I could get it right away. I had already waited in line for 30 – 40 minutes at that point. It’s been about an hour since I paid for the vehicle. There are 20 others waiting as well. One customer just confronted the worker about the wait time, and it ended in a yelling match. I have never seen such awful customer service. I will NEVER use this rental company again.
*Edit. We cancelled our reservation and left with no vehicle.

After reading the Unilocal reviews, I was extremely hesitant of renting a car here because there are so many negative feedbacks about this company. The feedbacks are not accurate to the company at all in my opinion! I booked my car rental online and went the next day to pick it up for a road trip to Texas for a weekend. I had no problems at all. I was able to get a 2015 Hyndai Sonata and it was great! Yes the car had small flaws on the exterior but the interior was very clean and no stains on the seats. Getting the car was quick and easy! Aurelia was such a great representative of this company! She was so helpful with answering everything so I can understand all the logistics of the car because it was my first time renting a car. I would definitely recommend this company because I had such a awesome experience!

The first car we got, a Kia, had stains on all the seats and they had sprayed so much «Air Freshener» inside it was an asault to the nose.
We asked to trade it out and waited 30 minutes for them to bring up another car.
They brought us a nice Camry, what we were supposed to get in the first place according to our online reservation .
It turned out ok but will probably not use them again
Also they charged a $ 150.00 deposit when we picked it up. I’ve never had to pay a deposit when you pay the whole rental up front.

A star for the friendly people at the counter and on the phone. Seriously.
No stars for the fact that it was 45 MINUTES from the time the van dropped me off at FOX to the time I left the lot.

Worst car rental experience of my life. I was given a filthy car twice because their car wash and vacuum were broken, I had to pay for an upgrade because they had no other cars available. (Seriously!!!)
horrible customer service at the counter, rude staff throughout, and my credit card was charged twice to top it off. I called and spoke with a supervisor and was told there was nothing they could do. I even called corporate and again was told «sorry, nothing we can do»

Low budget rental car company. Most of their cars have some minor flaws and the service at this facility is slow since they seem to have less staff and older equipment (computers).
However I keep renting here frequently since their price are low and the quality of their cars is ok. Just make sure you check out the car before you leave.

The staff is straight to the point, no kind of customer service. The line averages 10 – 15 people at a time and they only have 2 – 3 registers open so you end up waiting about 20 – 30 minutes just to get to the counter. The price may be low but I would much rather pay a little extra for at least decent customer service. This is the only car rental that is not on the row where the rest are so that can be confusing as well. Overall I would not recommend renting from this place. With 277 reviews and an average of 2 stars… That says something!

Fox rent a car is horrible. This is the 3^rd time we’ve used them. All their cars have no tread on their tires. They are not mechanically kept up.
Our check engine and check brakes light went on they they expected us to take the car to a mechanic and pay for it and then they would reimbursed us.
And…all their cars smell like cigarette smoke.

Our quote was 118. Online. When we got here it was over 300 $. They take a deposit. And buckle and dime you for everything. Couldn’t believe how much we got screwed over here. Wanted to charge us for a 4 wheel drive… We’re in Colorado. Why aren’t all the cars four wheel drive.
Will never use this company again

Lady at pickup was friendly and rightfully concerned that we didn’t have 4WD for the snowstorm in Vail. We paid a little more to bump up to a 4Runner.
BUT «Robert» picked out a ding (2 – 3 mm) on the windshield during return; check out the picture I posted with a Chapstick for comparison. Looks like Fox is going to make more $$$.
Lesson Learned: note EVERYTHING on the vehicle inspection report. Not just the dings/​scratches you see in the bumpers, doors, etc. I won’t be renting from Fox anymore.

Better than I expected. The prices were substantially cheaper than the big boys, including Enterprise, which I normally use. Don’t be a rube and you won’t be upsold. I got a midsize car and they had one available (though it took a few minutes). The GPS was old and kind of a ripoff at $ 8 a day, but served me well in the mountains. Girl at the counter was helpful and explained about toll roads and I-​470 (all tolls). You can easily avoid them and forego the $ 12 a day pass charge.
Shuttle picked me up almost right away (good timing, I guess). I got my car within 10 – 15 minutes. It was a little oldie Nissan Versa with 45K miles, but relatively clean and ran fine. The only thing that was really different was the way they do inspections. Most places will have a rep come out with you and walk around the car. Here, you get in a long line of rental cars waiting to exit the parking lot and wait for the one person in the booth who does a quick lap around the car and inevitably ends up having to give every other person directions. Just the economics of cheaper rentals, I guess. (Word to the wise: make sure to inspect the car yourself for maximum assurance.)

Booking online for our road trip, I got an insane deal on a one-​way rental. Where other companies were competitive on the price for the number of days, they all wanted tons of money for the «one-​way fee». Fox, on the other hand, only wanted $ 69.95 (on top of the $ 300 in rental fees and taxes) for Denver to Las Vegas compared to $ 500 and $ 600 from the leading brands. We’re going to be putting 1200 miles on this car and they only want $ 70? SOLD!
Honestly, did not expect them to honor it but they did and with no questions asked at the counter. Yes, the gal tried to get me to buy their insurance but my Chase Sapphire Preferred car is good for «primary» insurance even ahead of my GEICO. So, no thanks. But I did let her upsell me to upgrade the car from a compact to a midsize.
The car is decent enough — a three year Nissan Sentra. Medium mileage but clean outside though smelling of cigarette smoke inside. I made sure to note that on the condition report when we left.
Finding the shuttle bus was easy and the ride to the facility was nice enough. A little light on features in that building but that’s not a real issue. It was super easy to get out and onto the highway.
