History

Established in 2008.

Inspired by vintage Coney Island hot dog-​shaped stands, business is conducted within a twenty-​eight foot tall, 14,000 lb. cream can. Little Man Ice Cream is all about the EXPERIENCE!

Our ice cream, vegan ice cream and sorbet are hand-​made with some of the finest, locally sourced ingredients possible. We produce our product one small batch at a time to ensure prestige quality.

The Little Man experience far exceeds that of a typical ice cream shop. Vintage uniforms, big smiles and an «anything goes» attitude – live music, slam poetry, movie nights and more!

Come enjoy a single, double, or triple dip! We also specialize in hand-​crafted floats, malts, shakes, banana splits and sundaes.

Loren graduated from Colorado State University in 2010. He received his degree in Business Management. He began as a scooper at Little Man Ice Cream in 2008 and has been the General Manager since 2011.

Yummy ice cream! Long lines but totally worth it! Come with time and enough room for a scrumptious dessert! Parking is tough at times so maybe carpooling! Overall I loved the experience and I will visit this place every time I come to Colorado!

I came across this place while vacationing in Denver, and trust me, all of the hype is well deserved. After trying both the Candy Coated Bacon and the Salted Oreo, I came to the conclusion that there is really no place you can compare Little Man too. It’s like Baskin Robbins and Coldstone had a child who grew up to speak english, move to America, graduate from MIT, and become an absolute BOSS. Its delicious, cheap, and even has outdoor heaters during the winter months. Definitely check it out if you’re in the Denver area, you won’t regret it.

Two words: salted Oreo. That’s really all you need to know about Little Man Ice Cream. Forget that long line, opt for the shorter line at the cart they set up outside that larger than life milk bottle building. This «express lane» has salted Oreo and that’s all you need in life plus you’ll wait like a quarter of the time! Little man if definitely a spot you’ve gotta try in downtown Denver!

Best. Ice cream. Ever.
My kids are vegan and we are always on the lookout for places that are both vegan friendly and kid friendly. This place is both. AND its across the streer from a park, total bonus.
But about the ice cream… Just awesome! We love that we get to be surprised every time we go because they always rotate flavors. Not sure how frequently, but at least weekly.
Another bonus, right next door to BoardLife which gives kids free skateboard classes on Sundays… Make an afternoon out of it!
Two slight minus… And seriously, just tiny… You WILL wait in line, but ice cream is so good, its totally worth the wait, and kids can wait in one of the tables and most are under shade. Second, parking can be a challange. But hey, park a couple Blocks away, walk a bit, start burning calories and enjoy your ice cream with no guilt. Win-​win

I researched best ice cream spots in Denver before coming here for a visit and Little Man made the list. Little Man offers up a great diverse mix of ice cream and sorbet. The offerings vary from day to day. If you are interested in a particular flavor, it would be best to call ahead. I walked here from downtown and was nervous about finding it, but with a big huge dairy jug designed stand, you can’t miss this place. I was here during a workday so it wasn’t so busy. Not like some of the lines that I see in some of the photos. *whew* There wasn’t a lot offered that day that I really wanted to eat, but I didn’t walk up here for nothing! I got the salted oreo which was a bit too salty for my taste. I tried the french toast, but surprisingly didn’t like it. I got a child’s cup which was a smart decision.

Came there on a Saturday night (20 degrees Fahrenheit) and lucky me, there was no line. I ordered the oatmeal cookie which was amazing with the cookie bits in there. It almost tasted like a hybrid of oatmeal and snickerdoodle. I loved the creamy texture with the cookie bits in there. The upside was that my ice cream wasn’t even melting! I don’t like melted ice cream. The worker was super nice and allowed for me to try several flavored. I’ll definitely be back!

Many many years ago, when I, Charlene L, was just a tiny tot, I recall going to Baskin Robbins and falling in love with what I named my most favorite ice cream flavor of all times– Love Potion #31. Then one day, when I ran into the neighborhood shop, excited to get a scoop of what I thought was the love of my life, I immediately became saddened to find out that the shop no longer carried it. Visit after visit, I thought the flavor would magically appear and surprise me from it’s «short term» vacation, but never again did I see that flavor again.
Fast forward to present day… Post Keystone snowboarding trip, my friend was driving the rental car and all of a sudden before I knew what was happening, we parked in front of Little Man Ice Cream. I have to confess, I’ve never been an ice cream lover during my adult years, but for the sake of our friendship, I played along and went up to order.
BEHOLD– RASPBERRY LOVE FLAVOR– an exact replica to BR’s Love Potion #31… Raspberry ice cream with chocolate chips… so simple, so amazing, so lovely! I ordered a kid’s scope (which was huge!) and only at $ 1.35, which nestled perfectly in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Love how the ice cream is creamy, yet still frozen and holds together, with perfect amounts of chocolate chips in every bite!
Sitting in the freezing cold, brisk air of Colorado on a winter afternoon, there I sat chewing my ice cream. aka childhood love of my life! :) Get there now and try this flavor!

Awesome ice cream stand! I don’t know why, but it kind of reminds me of the banana stand from Arrested Development.
I actually didn’t realize this place had no (indoor) seating, so unfortunately had to eat my ice cream in the car so I wouldn’t freeze to death.
I got a earl grey and some cookie ice cream duo, and it was great!

4 out of 5 for occasionally being utterly inaccessible and — rarely — having somewhat soft ice cream.
The above is largely compensated by their awesome quality and tastiness — they have great flavor ideas. We also enjoy their ice cream at a local coffee-​house, because they wholesale, which is great, because they’re usually mobbed.
Best experienced on a warm summer evening when they have entertainment (sometimes a small band, sometimes a strolling magician, not sure what others they have) while sitting in one of their antique «gliders» (floor mounted porch-​swing kinda bench affair) and letting the ambience wash over you.
Prices are very reasonable given the high quality.

This is the best ice cream joint in Denver. I guess the neighborhood is technically considered lo-​hi. But it’s not far at all from the platte river or downtown!
Extremely hard to miss, large tin cannidter is the building. Flavored change all the time and the price is pretty reasonable (considering the small is MORE than enough ice cream). You can sample and or add any amount of flavor that fits in your bowl. I had the mint chocolate chip and the salted caramel peanut butter, which I will now dream about. My mom had the pumpkin, peanut butter, and horchata.
Flavors were unique but still delicious! The staff is always extremely friendly! Considering its January and was about 35 degrees outside we only saw a few other customers. However I have been in the summer when the line is literally around the block, but it makes for a fun evening outing. There’s also a cute little slide for kids.
Love this place and their business motto! Make a stop here for sure on your sugar adventure.

So much good ice cream in Denver. so strange for such a cold city.
This place is downstairs from Linger. We checked it out after brunch at Linger actually. There was a fairly long line. There was some live music being played. Plenty of Halloween themed stuff going on as well.
I got the salted caramel ice cream. Not super imaginative I know, but hey, I wanted something savory after brunch. Pretty good.

Hooooooly cow. I came to this ice cream place freezing cold in 30 degree weather, and I STILL ate the whole thing. Luckily there was no line (since it was cold and rainy).
I got the pumpkin chip (pumpkin ice cream with chocolate chunks in it) and the chocolate mint (chocolate ice cream with peppermint chunks in it). I got the tiny sugar cone, and they still loaded it with 2 giant scoops (I just wanted 1 scoop, half and half), and it came out to about 4 bucks. Everything was so creeeeeamy and perfect and not too sweet and omnomnomnom.

This is one of Colorado’s main attractions. If you are visiting Colorado, then PLEASE GO HERE! If you are a Colorado native and you have not been here, then PLEASE GO HERE!
The ice cream is made fresh, and you can honestly tell the difference in comparison to other brands. It tastes healthier, and its about twice as creamy and delicious.
Be warned, however, that the line sometimes wind around the adjacent building. Its quite popular, so you might have wait outside for a while (so dress comfortable).

Little Man Ice Cream is the place to go if you want some good, solid ice cream. I’m not sure if it was because it’s cold outside or if Little Man is just that amazing, but the texture of the ice cream is to die for — super smooth and rich. And every flavor I sampled was delicious, so you really can’t go wrong here. Words can’t describe how good the ice cream is here, so you’ll just have to try it for yourself.

After having a horrible dinner at a sushi restaurant in Denver we asked a local about getting the best dessert possible to counteract horrible sushi. Many locals recommended this place and we decided to give it a try.
I went with a group of friends and I must say the little milk man canister is so cute! On the other note it was 30 degrees Fahrenheit at 9 pm and there was still an extremely long line. When we got to the counter there were so many delicious flavors to choose from which I couldn’t decide. The man behind the register was so nice that he let me take a sample of EVERY flavor with the most positive attitude I have ever seen. I ordered the Mexican chocolate flavor and was so happy that I did. It tasted so authentic and yummy. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting the Denver area!

Really yummy ice cream & quite large serves! When we arrived on a hot Saturday afternoon and the line was out to the footpath! It was hot waiting in the sun but worth it.
I got the earl grey single scoop & he got the cheesecake brownie. Mine was great but melted quickly even in the shade. Really tasted like earl grey tea. His was nice too and even though there were chunks of «cheesecake» in it, it wasn’t quite right. I also tasted the oatmeal cookie, it was nice but a whole scoop would hand been far too sweet.
Great atmosphere, a guy playing hit songs on a flute was cool. Even though it was busy there were heaps of seats & we noticed some kids playing in what looked like a cool kids area.

The first time we went, the line wrapped around the block. It took us a half hour to get to the front, but once there, the staff is very friendly and willing to let you taste everything. I ended up not being that impressed with the flavors the first round, and ended up getting the vegan horchata and the salted caramel with peanut butter and chocolate in a kid size cup. Still huge. I can’t imagine anyone getting a double — a kid’s size almost took me out.
The second time I went, fearing ice cream overdose, I decided to get the little dip, which is like the tiniest, cutest serving of ice cream. A kid’s scoop, which is like ten times bigger, is just over a $ 1 more (this is why America’s fat). The banana pudding ice cream blew me away. I love banana cream pie and this was definitely that in ice cream form. In fact, it’s inspiring me to make something similar this week.
Fun place to go, not the best ice cream I’ve ever had, but worth the visit and a ton of options for your vegan friends.

What is there to say? Little Man is my go-​to ice cream spot! There is always a line here, so just accept the fact that you have to wait for 5-​star ice cream. Salted Oreo is always my top choice. The flavor is like nothing I’ve ever had.
Tip: During busy hours, there are typically 2 lines! When things get busy, Little Man opens up another station. This is a good to know, because a lot of patrons don’t realize there is a shorter line!
2nd Tip: Little Man is sold at the ice cream shop in Union Station. They do scoops inside Union Station, & the line is always short! Shhhhh, it’s a secret!

Little. Man. Is. Heavenly.
All the flavors. I’ve never disliked one. I’m a salted caramel and/​or cookies and cream gal myself, but they are all worth a try. If it’s hot outside, be ready to wait in a line. A long one. Around the block. If you put in the wait time, it’s worth it.
I love that Little Man wants to be involved in the community. Case in point: their beer flavored ice cream event. Success!
Plus, how adorable is their storefront? A giant, silver milk jug?! How could you not like that?!

Their ice cream is pretty good but i probably wouldn’t wait for it if the line we’re long
