I began my general practice after serving as in-​house counsel for Phillips Petroleum Company and director of state and local taxes for Coopers & Lybrand. I emphasize preventative law yet am effective in court and other remedial legal measures.

I went to high school in Madrid, Spain, spent three years in the Army in Japan, finished college at Kansas University and then law school at Washburn University School of Law. I was first admitted to practice in Kansas and Missouri including the 8^th Circuit, then moved to Colorado where I was admitted to the Colorado Bar and the 10^th Circuit. I am also admitted to the US Supreme Court, US Tax Court and US Claims Court.
