L’Asie Fusion Bistro

FYI– They changed their name, but the menu still looks the same and most importantly they still have BOGO Drinks All Day!
Now called, Odyssey Asian Bistro + Sushi, it was pretty busy during lunch on Monday. Nearly all their entrees at lunch are only $ 8 and come with soup too. And the servings are still large enough to share or take home the left overs for the next day.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet for these guys — definitely one of the best options in town to get delivery! I can’t speak to their dine-​in service (although I’m tempted by all the talk of good drink specials), but L’Asie’s food upon delivery is exquisitely tasty.
It’s also really easy to order from them over the phone: in addition to the super friendly and helpful guy who answers and takes the orders (if I could give an extra star for him, I would!), they save all your information so it’s easily retrievable next time you call. I’m actually waiting for food to arrive from them as I write this; I was so inspired by the awesome order-​placing experience, I just had to add to the other 5-​star reviews.
The cashew shrimp and scallops is pretty good and not too expensive (given how much a lot of restaurants charge for any dish containing scallops), although the scallops seem like probably come from a frozen stock and can be a little too chewy at times. All of their apps are excellent, too. I took Laura L.‘s tip on the golden tofu and am anxiously awaiting its arrival!

i have had two bad experiences here. I hope its because of what I ordered, but honestly I think it may just be the food.

The fried tofu appetizer is pretty awesome. Soft tofu on the inside, crunchy golden exterior.
I’m a bit annoyed that they have a giant sign on the outside of the building saying they have 2 for 1 drinks every day. No… that just means your drinks are $ 5 each and you force people to buy 2 at a time. Not as attractive when you look at it like that.
I ended up with 2 cucumber mojitos. Not a bad taste, but they’re on the weaker side.
Wouldn’t mind coming back to try some of their other food. Tuesday and Wednesdays they have half price appetizers.

Overall a very nice place for 2 – 4 people. Any more and they make you wait for the only table that can seat 6. Quality and temperature are better than average and the service is about par for a $ 12/​plate restaurant.
I think the «wow» factor for this restaurant is tied to the chef who is working that night. Sometimes the dishes are just unbelievable (Coconut Curry Flounder) and sometimes it’s just… eh (Beef with Broccoli).
If you’re debating between a couple of bland $ 10−12/plate chain restaurants do yourself a favor and pick a place like this. You won’t be disappointed!

My friend loves this place so we headed here for some thai food. I got the lemon grass chicken which was yummy. Lots of chicken, which is always nice.
2 for 1 drinks all the time? I’ll be back.

An Asian place that isn’t completely greasy and delivers? Where do I sign up?
The prices are decent and the portions are large and in charge. So, be prepared for leftovers. I was a little dissapointed with the ginger beef and bok choy I ordered because it was all bok choy and no beef. Oh well. The Pad Thai looked and smelled delicious and the crab wontons as close to pure pleasure as you can get in a fried dough thingy.
In the Capitol Hill asian food delivery battle, L’Asie beats down Wokano. Try both for yourself!

Had a groupon so tried it out. The experience started off well and I thought I might have found a good new place, but then it went downhill.
First the good: Drinks are 2-​for-​1. So if you and your dining partner can agree on a drink you can share or you can have two to yourself. The martini with midori, vodka, and sweet and sour was quite tasty. We went for the appetizer plate with vietnamese spring rolls (shrimp), crab cheese wontons, and satay chicken, all of which were delicious! The crab cheese wontons were different then how I’m used to seeing them — they were triangular wedges filled with yumminess.
Now the bad: The entrees were disappointing. Went with the plum shrimp, which was certainly tasty but nothing amazing or special. And, for the price I was expecting more. Also got pad thai with chicken — and asked them to give it a little kick (because it says sweet on the menu). The pad thai was truly disappointing. I only ate a couple of bites. My friend who regularly eats at Tommy’s said it didn’t even compare. Then later in the evening, my stomach was somewhat unsettled.
I would consider going back just for the appetizers, but I enjoy the food from the Chinese take-​out place by my house in Highlands Ranch much more than L’Asie and it’s cheaper.

Ok, L’Asie, we are on delivery terms again. I’ve only reviewed you, oh, four other times so I’ll keep this short, but here’s what peeps should know:
1 — Free delivery in a three-​mile radius, and everything you need to know is on their website. They boast a pretty big menu. Check out their specialties.
2 — For the love of Pete, try the golden fried tofu.
3 — If you’re a fan of seaweed salad, they don’t mess around with their portions and don’t fluff up your to-​go box with lettuce.
4 — The gyoza and Vietnamese eggrolls will totally satisfy your craving for something deep fried.
5 — Depending on when you call, your delivery may be there frighteningly fast. Like, I called right as the kitchen opened and had dinner in under 20 minutes when they had quoted me an hour. Happy-​making!

I tasted some friend’s food and it was ok. I had Pad Thai and… Way TOO saucy!

L’Asie has pretty decent food for Asian fusion. If you’re looking for true authentic Vietnamese, you’re at the wrong place. You really can’t expect Chinese owners to make real Vietnamese phở and vermicilli dishes.
Great date spot though, and decent prices on drinks. Their appetizers are legitimate and worth the price.
They treat their regulars amazingly well, but that’s not inclusive of everyone. If you come off wrong to them you might regret it, and they definitely don’t put too much work in managing their workers or caring about their employees thoughts. I’d suggest a human resources department there.
But for those who only worry about the food and atmosphere, it’s worth the visit.

Three full barks for Lassie’s. This place gets an award (?) for serving the fastest sit-​down 4-​course meal in Denver.
Last night the babe and I decided to can the cookin’ and grab a bite out under the balmy summer skies. Tried to get a table at some of the local LoHi/​LoDo spots with good decks (e.g., Vita’s, Root Down, Lola’s), but had no luck. Then remembered L’Asie’s on 6^th.
«Yup,» they said, they had plenty of room. Ten minutes later we were downin’ alcoholic beverages under their non-​stop 2−4−1 drink policy and orderin’ a bunch o’ yummy-​sounding dishes that came in a cascade of service, one-​after-​the-​other, all within 10 minutes of our placing the order.
The food was very good. Not great, but very good. And there was tons of it. Plus, it’s cheap beyond belief. So cheap, that they almost get another star for the price-​to-​quantity factor. Unfortunately, the place – an old not so renovated house squished into the block on a busy 6^th Ave – has little atmosphere (but very nice staff).
So, this is one of the few 3 star spots I heartily recommend. That’s especially true if you’re looking for huge servings, pretty good eats, and plenty of alcohol at an extremely reasonable price, all served by very gracious and appreciative people.

So I used to live right across the street from L’Asie. Would go there & order from there ALL THE TIME. I moved to Lakewood in September & have had a mad craving for the Curry Chicken one too many times.
Last night, I finally ordered my favorite meal, along with spring rolls, & drove all the way from Belmar to 6^th & Pearl.
My food was still hot by the time I got home. I dove in…
Something was different… The Curry Chicken was still delish but not as delish as it had been 9 months ago. And the spring rolls just didn’t do it for me. At all. Maybe it’s just that I’ve since been introduced to the likes of New Saigon that nothing can really compare to what they turn out.
Still love ya’ L’Asie! If I lived across the street, I’d be visiting often, but now I’ll see you maybe once a year… The Curry Chicken will always hold a special place in my heart.

I’ve never really had a good experience with L’Asie… Thus, I say, I have experienced better. The drink specials are pretty cool, but my food experience has only be so-​so at best.
I MIGHT try it again. Maybe.

L’Asie is indeed A-​OK.
We had skipped lunch and wanted food quickly. Our first choice was booked, so we wandered the neighborhood and came upon L’Asie.
We got an appetizer combo (chicken satay, summer rolls, and gyoza). The gyoza was fine; I think I was giving them lots of leeway since they don’t specialize in one cuisine, and I’m guessing that this was not a specialty at all. The summer rolls came with an interesting sauce that seemed more like an Indonesian peanut sauce with lots of coconut milk. As for the satay: it was grilled chicken. There wasn’t a lot of marinade or seasoning, but they were cooked well.
I chose pad thai. It was far from the best pad thai I’ve had, but I was hungry and it fed me. The salty/​sweet flavors didn’t quite come together as they do elsewhere, so I’d get a bit that tasted more vinegary, then a sweet bite. Again, since this was a pan-​Asian menu of sorts, I didn’t expect the same dish I’d get at a traditional Thai restaurant.
In the end, I think L’Asie is more pan-​Asian (lots of dishes from various Asian cuisines) than fusion (dishes that combine flavors from multiple cuisines at once). It’s not very expensive, so I’d return if invited, but I wouldn’t seek it out.

L’Asie is not too bad!
Their menu is HUGE which is a slight drawback. It takes me forever to pick something and then I have buyer’s remorse immediately after ordering because I had about five options swimming in my head and had to make a last minute decision.
Their 2-​for-​1-​drinks-​all-​the-​time is pretty cool, although it is slightly irritating to get two at once. Also, a big commitment to get one $ 9 drink versus picking two $ 4 or $ 5 ones. And sometimes I just want one! And usually by the second, the ice is all melty.
My favorite dish here is the Thai basil eggplant… the portion is HUGE and this one is particularly eggplant-​heavy which I appreciate immensely. I once ordered bok choy and mushrooms and immediately had the aforementioned buyer’s remorse.
This place always comes up as a fallback when determining «where to eat» but never first choice. I like it though, as well as the following several days of enjoying leftovers.

Went back with my boyfriend for lunch. Still absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Tried the crispy calamari, and it is now my favorite in town. Can’t wait to go back for more!

Not enough positive things can be said about L’Asie. While the wait was relatively long, approx. 45minutes, it was well worth it! Take advantage of the 2-​for-​1 drink specials while waiting…
They sat us at E5, a very private u-​shaped table looking over the dining area (see photo). Our waiter, Francis, was the sweetest guy ever! If you make reservations, ask for him. Service was amazing, not rushed, and very personable.
Now, the food. I think, from my experience around town, it is the best for the money! Not only does it rival some more expensive places in Denver, it towers over them! If you like edamame, try the XO– sweet, spicy, amazingly delicious. A great way to start your meal. The wonton soup was also tasty!
I tried, much to my delight, the Tofu Rice Wraps, which you prepare yourself. I am pretty sure I am horrible at it, but it was so much fun, I will be back to attempt again! The tofu was prepared perfectly to my liking: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and full of spicy/​sweet flavor. The other prep items: sprouts, cucumber, carrots, etc… were fresh, crisp — could not have been better.
The food at the table, other than my own, was awesome as well. One of my friends gets the same thing every time she visits, and is always satisfied. (Combination Vermicelli noodle bowl with a side of peanut sauce.)
I am so impressed with this restaurant because it rivals all others in all the important areas: price, service, environment, location, and above all else… the clincher… THE FOOD.

Two words: GOLDEN TOFU
Two more words: SO GOOD
Get the salt and pepper style. The drinks are also really good. They have a goofy buy-​one-​get-​one-​free, which doesn’t mean you buy a drink and you’ll get your next drink free, but rather that they bring out two of anything you order.

I am a little mixed about this place. The seaweed salad was ok. But after eating the Mango Curry Crab Cakes, I am stuffed. Though I cant deny the batter that coats the Crab Cakes were thick and a little tough to cut. Perhaps I should have ask for a knife or something. Portion wise is big. I may come back for more to try other dishes. I heard the Platter dishes are a steal.
I came here with like 20 other of my friends. The staffs were friendly, though at one point, one of my friends had his order out late from the rest of us. Perhaps they could do better in the service with this.

This restaurant is definitely one of those «hidden gems», you could drive by this restaurant near 6^th and Speer and see this old history house with cheesy lights on the awning outside, but once you enter, the feel of the restaurant is very warm and contemporary.
The food is EXCELLENT, from the pad thai dish I’ve had before to the mushroom steak. My friends and I went there for a birthday party and they treated our group of 15 people so nicely and everyone in the group tried to get different entrees to try new things and not one person was not satisfied. Most of us ordered off their happy hour menu for drinks which is all day for most of the drinks and they are 2 for 1 drinks.
On another note, service was decent from the waiters (I think they were new at the time), but the bartender was exteremely nice and was a big helping hand in the new experience. We forgot to call in for reservations on that saturday night and had to wait quite a bit for room to open up, I’d suggest making reservations on weekend nights.
