Lakecrest at Gateway Park

Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever lived!!! The cleanliness of the grounds is disgusting, not to mention bugs in the apartments, dead bodies found in the lake, vandalism to cars, apartment break-​ins, mail getting stolen, theft etc!!! I’d rather be homeless than move back to that horrific apartment complex. The staff pretends to care but they really don’t! If I could rate this place a –5 I would.

I have this place 1 star because there was no option for 0. This is the worst experience I have ever had living anywhere. From the day I moved in the staff was terribly unhelpful and don’t care about you at all.
The day I moved in we walked in and our apartment was disgusting. We spent that day watching them clean our place instead of moving in. To repay us for this all they day was take 25 $ off the day of rent.
Consistently throughout our stay they were very off putting coming into the office asking for help whether it was maintence or with our bill. They treated us like we are idiots and should not be asking any questions or for any help with maintenance. It is also very dirty and very unsafe. There were multiple car thefts, mail box thefts, gates broken off for months, and even a dead body found in the lake next to it. They did not notify residents of any of this. We had one letter saying we could go to a meeting about car breaking happening in the lot, but never any information besides that.
We also had extremely loud upstairs neighbors who would play music at 2 in the morning during the week. If it’s the weekends that is fine and I can handle it, but when you are trying to sleep to get up for work at 5:30 the next morning it is not ok. When we went to ask for help on this they simply told us there was nothing we could do and would have to go through the police. Once again, did not care how our stay was.
Lastly, our move out was horrible. They said we should know everything in our lease and should not be asking them for help. My roommate and I called about 10 times asking about everything we needed to do in order to move out without being charged. They said we were fine. By the time we moved out we had an extra 150 $ charged on our bill because of a dish left on the apartment. This would’ve taken us 5 minutes to take down and we would’ve done that had we known we needed to take it down. We ask left one of the proxy keys in our car without knowing it. When we handed in keys they did not ask for the proxy card nor did the ask to do a walk through of our apartment. They sent us a bill with all of these charges and said it is not our fault we have these charges and if we wanted a walk through it was our job to ask. When I called to ask for help on this and understanding our lease, Alisha, the manager told me it was not her job to run our lives and we should know what was in our lease and said she didn’t need to help us. She was extremely disrespectful.
Clearly they are just out for money and greed. A very uptight staff with no moral ground. We asked many times for what we needed to make sure we needed to have done to move out and they said we were fine. When we ask for help understanding our lease or what we need to know they should be willing to help us not just shooing us away.
I never write reviews for anything, but this is the worst customer service I have ever had and will never rent from a griffiths property again and will also tell everyone I know not to.

As everyone else is posting this place sucks. You get to hear noise every night from people screaming outside, my upstairs neighbors must have concrete shoes because when they walk or move it sounds like bombs going off. This is a gated community but guess what the gates don’t work and always open because someone decided to run into it. My girlfriend walked to her car to go to work to find a random guy sitting on the hood of her car. I’m living here now and going to put in my 2 month notice to move the fuck out of here. All the treadmills in the gym have been vandalized and I tried walking around the lake but couldn’t due to all the flying bugs everywhere. Also wait to you see the hidden fees added to your rent. Real estate tax, this and that, then the funniest one was a pest control tax and still would find bugs everywhere inside.

1 star because there was no option for 0. Described in one word… CRAP … these apartments are crap! There is dog feces everywhere, the lake looks nice unless you read the news from March 2015 when they found a dead man floating on it. Rent is charged as if they were nice and well kept, when in reality they are trashy, beer bottles everywhere, cars are broken into at least weekly. If you have a family run from this place! It is not a safe environment for anyone! Did I forget to mention the people at the office when approached with the safety concerns excused it with, I quote, «crime is everywhere» and «we have one security guy but well he can’t be everywhere» and when asked if there was any more safety precautions that would be made in the future «that’s not in any of our future plans». Well isn’t that nice to know? Run from this place it’s trash!

1 star is blatantly 10 too many. This over priced, cheaply made fenced in ghetto is just about the biggest rip off in the history of time. The expensive and overpriced apartments arent enough, there are hidden fees that they are clearly dishonest about. Whatever they tell you the rent is add on a MINIMUM of $ 100 plus whatever the power bill is. Our $ 860 1 room apartment was about $ 1100 every month.
Now the «neighborhood» they built here might have a total of 30% of its residents working, so there is always nowhere to park and people making noise at all hours of the night.
They make you sign something saying they have security cameras but when a vehicle gets broken into they could care less about it.
You have to give them multiple small deposits for several things, however when you move out you find out that they are actually fees, so all this money you gave them (almost $ 400 in our case) you dont get back.
Moving out. Holy god. They gave us a bill for almost $ 1600 when we moved out that didnt make sense and none of the people working there could explain it, but if you dont pay it immediately they WILL sue you.
The dishonest criminals that run/​own/​operate this plave should be in jail.
Avoid living here like the plague.

WORST, WORST, WORST Place I have EVER lived! Honestly, the staff is awful. There are 4 women running the place, and aside from two of them, they are the RUDEST women I have ever met in my life, and I have dealt with some real bitches. If you are thinking about renting here, DON’T! They don’t know how to manage a property. The grounds are dirty. The walls are built as thin as cracker jacks boxes. There are BUGS everywhere. I can’t tell you how many dead spiders there were in all the crevices and corners of my apartment upon my move out. I once killed one of those spiders that carries spiders on her back, and spiders went ALL OVER my apartment. It was everything that I could do to avoid the women in the office. The utility BILLS are INSANE! It’s already over priced. I wonder how most the people around me passed a criminal background check. The woman next door to me was broken into in the middle of the day while she was sleeping with her newborn baby!!! The women in the office DID NOTHING FOR HER! She called the cops, but nothing was really done. This place SUCKSSSSSSSS! Don’t live here. Save yourself the money and from having to deal with the biggest Beotches on earth.

I just renewed my lease at Lakecrest and overall I am very happy. For the price range this is the nicest place I have seen. It is a great space for two bedroom two bath with great features and amenities. The good is definitely the amount of space and upgrades for the price range, the staff is very friendly and the maintenance team is outstanding and respond quickly to requests. The bad is having to pay for the wifi even though it is not useful, also when using the pool their is no supervision for the amount of kids and they can get rowdy so you usually can’t go in the evenings.

I go back and forth everyday about if I like this place or not.
Pros:
Very close to my work and the airport
Our apartment is gorgeous and huge which I love.
We always have space to park right near our building.
The maintainence team is AWESOME! They are so quick to respond if there is a problem.
The gym is convenient if you have your own magnet for the treadmills, otherwise you have to check in to get one (only works if the leasing office is open).
Cons:
The gates are always open and if they are closed, people tailgate through them all day and night.
The pool is always full of rude teenagers and no parents.
Our water bill skyrocketed this month, when we moved in our building was pretty empty. Now that it is filling up, our water bill has increased even though our personal use has not.
It seems like every other day the hot tub is broken.
The wifi is a joke. We are required to pay 12 dollars for it every month and we cannot even connect to it in our apartment. If we can, it is not fast enough to do anything and it is an unsecure connection.
It is $ 85 a month for a garage.
There is a guy that goes through the trash cans everyday.
All in all, I like where we are but the «perks» could be better for what we pay.

Like the person before me I have to say this place SUCKS now. When we moved in last year the staff was nice and pretty helpful. Recently they got a new management company, they are GREEDY bastards.
The good: Not much, other than the apartment we have is the biggest place we have rented in a while.
The bad: The kitchen counter has some spray paint crap over the fomica. WTF? Our water bill is 3 times what it was at our last apartment. Our utility bill is always over $ 100/​mo. For an apartment? Until here I have NEVER paid more than $ 50/​mo. It sky rocketed when they filled the pool and started watering the grass. The gym? Supposedly it’s going to be 24 hours. Right. Then there is the $ 12 wifi charge even if you don’t want it. I hooked up to it with my iPhone and tested it with the speedtest app. 106 ping, 3.32 down, 2.59 up. I have Centurylink internet and have 82 ping, 6.11 down and 4.53 up, and wired its 33 down, so whatever. It just pisses me off that I have to pay for something I have never wanted or asked for. The walls are paper thin. The gates… well they worked for a minute. I don’t get a hot shower in the morning in the master shower, only mildly hot. Someone on the maintenance staff that my wife knows said she is moving because she doesn’t want to live in a police state. I agree and we are starting to look for a new place to live. It’s cheaper to live in Stapleton. They are doing the bi-​annual inspection/​filter changing deal but she said they are looking for lease violations so they can fine people. Awesome place. The lake walk… Not 2.5 miles, it’s a 1.5 mile walk. Both my wife and I used our GPS’s and checked it.
Don’t move here unless you want to be watched like you’re a criminal and gouged for every penny you have.
