King’s Tire & Wheel

They are great& always respectful. I’m auto-ignorant…It’s great to trust this establishment. Today I actually PAID for services related to a car. They’ve filled my bicyle tires for free twice in the recent past…

I brought my tire in on a Monday for repair. They discovered a drill bit had pierced a hole in my wheel well, so it would not hold air. I understood and saw the damage and Mike indicated that they would to take it to another shop for repair and that he would call Tuesday, though it likely wouldn’t be back until Wednesday.
Thursday afternoon I called repeatedly to no answer or voicemail so I went down to the shop where Mike said the tire wasn’t back, but he would call when it was. About an hour later he called and said it was ready. I arrived and he jacked up the car and came to me and said cash only. My 7 month old daughter with me makes it difficult to run to the ATM and he had multiple opportunities to mention this. And the next part is mostly why this is 1 instead of 2 stars.
He exclaimed, as if I was a thief, that he was going to jack down the car and refuse to do anything until he knew I had cash. I drove all the way to my bank on the spare, despite his insistence that I spend more money on bank fees and use the ATM across the street, before he would do the work. He offered me no receipt or invoice and I unhappily paid him and expressed that I would not return, wherein he continued to argue with me and agree that I should not return.
I give filthy, disgusting tire shops a chance, however at King’s, apparently you get treated that way as well.

This review is about 5 years late, but for the last 5 summers I have filled up floating tubes at King’s, free of charge. They have a fast air compressor and it saved us a lot of time, as opposed to the Safeway across the street. Once even, I was too embarrassed to go ask for air again and Victor walked across the street and straight up told me, «hey man, come over here and we’ll fill those up for you». He is very cool.
Just to be clear, I have never actually paid for any of their services, but the service they did give me was 5 star. If I ever DO have tire trouble, they’ll be first on my list.

Knowing that Kings has been in business for many years and that they were on my way to work I decided to stop in to have a flat tire repair one morning when I discovered that I was completely flat. They were able to help me immediately, they were professional, fixed my tire in no time and I can’t remember what they charged since it was a while ago but I remember friends telling me how much they had paid and I had paid a ¹⁄₃ of what the chains charge. It’s an older station, it’s not beautiful, it’s straight-​forward service with a reputation of being solid and dependable.
