I recently had car troubles and did not know who to go to for repairs. I saw that Gary’s auto had good reviews and took a chance (I know nothing about cars). I am so glad I did because I feel like I received very good service here. They explained what was wrong with my car thoroughly and gave me options for repair. They were very knowledgable, friendly, so helpful, and even helped reduce my cost. I would recommend this auto shop to all!

Geary’s is the real deal, trustworthy, value priced, fast, and their work is guaranteed! What more can you ask for? The lil dog Billy is cute too :) Dan (the owner) is really nice and will help you. The mechanics do exceptional work. Good central location too.

I went to Gary’s in May when my transmission was acting up. They did a diagnostic test and couldn’t find anything wrong. They said they would let me use that monetary value towards any other auto service. Sure enough I went back in today and my oil change was free (well, kind of). They were true to their word and that’s always a characteristic I want from my mechanic! Gary’s rocks!

Came here to get my oil changed, brakes checked, and wipers replaced. Glad to have found an honest auto-​mechanic, which are hard to come by! Dan, the owner, and his team (including the dog!) were very upfront and friendly. Appreciated them telling me that my brakes still had some time and did not need to be replaced just yet. There is an area where you can sit and wait, but also various coffee shops in the area that help pass time. Appreciated their help.
Will definitely come back for future needs!

Gary’s is the best mechanic shop in Denver hands down! I’ve been taking our cars there for years and they are always very up front and honest. As a result I’ve gotten to know them. A true locally owned shop. Dan runs such a great ship and treats his team well and it shows! Most recently, our newly purchased SUV was having digital dashboard issues. I took the car in and Vong spent about 80 minutes on it. He found the problem and fixed it… And even better, said this time was on them and sent me off free of charge! I will always recommend them and continually go back. The BEST!

Wonderful service all the way round! Gary’s took great care of our RV and fixed a problem that no other service station could diagnose. VERY reasonable rates, and they are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the job is done right. Highly recommended!

I thought I could trust this place. Since when are oil changes over 50 bucks??! I didn’t ask for anything special! Rediculous prices for a 20 min service. The guy who was at the counter was not too friendly and when asked about the price all he said was «its been that price for 5 years now.» I think his name is Dan. Sorry I won’t be back again!

Lied about repairs needed saying I had over 2,400. in leaks to fix, but none were needed. Ended up after cleaning the areas that were supposed to be leaking but showed no oil again, had to find the real leak. Finally figured when I had an oil change done at another location, they forgot to put the o ring back on the plug so I was leaking oil that was all over.
Was told by Gary’s mechanic also that a spark plug was broken off. Because I was suspect from gaskets and cam seals not needed, I changed all the plugs with a friend myself and not one single plug was broken.

How do they sleep at night?

Manager called me a cocksucker because I «wanted to argue». I just wanted to know how my car not starting all weekend isn’t related to the $ 500 repair 2 weeks ago when it wouldn’t start the exact same way. He didn’t like that his answers where being called out asked me to leave because I was getting upset and stated the name calling as I got in my car old man even tried to start a fight. Being a clean cut old white male doesn’t make you better/​smarter person than the guy with dreads questioning your work.

I went to these guys after feeling I was getting a run around at another place. They saw me immediately and told me exactly what I needed done and gave me a priority list of what needs to happen in the next couple months. My car has over 200,000 miles on it and I feel very comfortably going to them with my older car. Thank you Gary’s Auto Service

I brought my vehicle in to diagnose the ABS, Stability Control, and Traction Control Lights. I was told that the wheel speed sensor in the right rear wheel hub assembly was bad and received an estimate for the work, ~$ 420. When I questioned the price I was hung up on. I called back and explained that I just wanted to understand the cost. The part for the job was quoted at $ 250, not a bad price compared to the dealer price, ~$ 368, but high compared to aftermarket price, ~$ 65. I was told that they wouldn’t use a cheap part, fair enough.
As I walked out of the shop, overall I was quite satisfied with the service I received (except for the hang up), but the cost was just too high for my budget. So I decided to do the repair myself. I picked up the part on the way home for $ 50+tax. I got home and put the vehicle on jack stands, removed the wheel (5 lug nuts), removed the brake caliper (2 bolts), removed the wheel hub assembly (3 bolts), disconnected the sensor connector, and put the new hub assembly back in, and buttoned it back up in reverse order. Twenty-​five minutes later I was done with the job.
Here’s my first issue, I was quoted ~$ 170 for labor. It took me 25 minutes without a lift and never doing this job before. Doing the math, they are charging upwards of ~$ 340/​hr!!!
On to my second issue. After finishing the job, I took the vehicle for a test drive and found that all of the lights were still on!!! At first, I thought maybe I replaced the wrong rear wheel hub assembly. So I ripped both sides apart and swapped the parts out. This time it probably only took about 15 minutes per side (shallow learning curve). However, this still didn’t fix the issue.
After all is said and done, the problem ended up being a disconnected wheel speed sensor on one of the front wheels. Reconnected the sensor, lights goes off and ABS works again!!! The worst part of this all is that the part that Gary’s told me was bad is still on the vehicle!!!

Overall great mechanic — these guys have always done a great job and been very honest and friendly. Perfect location close to downtown to leave the car and walk to work for the day. But if you have to wait, their lobby area is outfitted with fun décor, works by local artists, and a little dog.

These guys were great! Had a rattle going on and they discovered the bold that holds my brake caliber on had fallen out. Needless to say, not safe to drive. They drove to pick up the part so I could get back on the road. And they charged a very reasonable price. I’m always nervous about taking my car in because I think they’ll just gouge you for things you don’t need. But I think I finally found a shop I can trust.

Took my car in for brakes and the quality of the work was good, but be careful about how they charge you. I was in a hurry to get out of there and didn’t really think about how they charged until afterwards. Most shops charge for the actual labor, this place gives you a labor charge for each job done on the car. So I had my car in for the front and rear brakes plus an oil change each had their own labor charges on the invoice, I probably ended up paying 10 — 15% more for the work than another place. I am sure that if you were just getting one job on the car it would be fine, but just be careful about this.

I took my car here recently to have the bumper repaired and was very satisfied with the service. The owner, Dan, was patient with me and did a great job walking me through the steps needed for the repair. They also were able to replace the bumper while I waited so I didn’t need to rent a car, helping keep the cost low. I will definitely be going back for any type of car trouble.

I drive a lot. I’ve put 50 thousand miles on my taurus last year alone. I also know the value of good service as I run a small business myself. Dan and his crew are phenomenally polite and exacting in their work. These guys know what they are doing, they get it done without rushing, and the result lasts. Any issues I’ve had were addressed quickly and I was on my way again.
I highly recommend Gary’s for their excellent customer service and expertise.

I have come to really appreciate and trust this place. They have always been friendly and helpful, carefully explaining things to me. They have never pushed anything on me. They get me in quickly whenever I call. I have felt that they are very honest about what I have to get done and what can wait, and that their prices are very competitive and fair. I wish I had found Gary’s long ago and am thankful to have found them!

I feel so fortunate to have found Gary’s Auto Service, and would highly recommend them for any type of car trouble. I have been going to them for all of my car needs for about two years now (it’s been under new management for about three) and Dan and the crew have always provided exceptional customer service!
In the past, I felt that some mechanics who worked on my car would add unnecessary services to drive up the total price, or try to sell me on services that I didn’t need. That has never been the case here. I feel as «at home» as possible and completely comfortable with the shop and their knowledge base. They have always completed work on my car in a timely manner and stand by the work that they do.
The shop helps me prioritize what needs to get done, is conscious of my budget, and goes out of their way to make sure that they are straightforward and honest about the work. All around great experience!

I’ve been going to Gary’s for over a year now for maintenance and repair on both my wife’s Rav4 and my Audi A4. I have been very pleased with both the quality of service and prices. I found garys while searching Google (sorry Unilocal) looking for independent auto shops that could fix import autos. Garys had great reviews and when I took the rav4 for a new water pump the price was 30% lower than the oil change place that called out about 5 extra repairs needed. Gary’s explained to me the 2 actual repairs needed and why the other 3 weren’t.
I recently took my A4 in for a timing belt replacement which is no small feat with an Audi. Not only did they quote the lowest price and do a great job, when I came back a couple weeks later asking for advice on a brake job I was doing myself I was allowed to speak directly with a mechanic there who offered the correct advice and even offered to stop by and take a look at my work. Thankfully that was not necessary as the advice was perfect. I would highly recommend Gary’s Auto.

I highly recommend Gary’s for any type of car trouble. Dan will go out of his way to come up with very reasonably priced solutions and you do not have to worry about him doing unnecessary work to drive up the bill.
We recently had our rear bumper fixed and were thrilled with the result, as well as with the final bill. Dan will also answer any kind of layman car question in a way that makes you feel that you really are in very good hands.
