Sorry to say that this company has absolutely dropped the ball. I gave them a few chances because they had done great work in the past but I think there may have been some personal problems that created some very bad business practices and a loss of any kind of professionalism and integrity. The last straw was when I asked them to repair my son’s laptop he used for college. They not only didn’t fix it, they moved, and wouldn’t respond to calls, emails or texts. I finally tracked down a partner through their old landlord and he met me at a gas station to return my son’s computer months later — still broken.

I had such a great experience working with Ryan of computer guru. My salon computer went down and wouldn’t turn on. I was referred to Ryan by a friend and he came in last minute on a Friday to diagnose my computer. As soon as he walked in, he took a look on the inside and pinpointed the problem on my motherboard. Because the nature of the situation being that all of our appointments are booked on this, it had to be fixed asap for our employees that work there. Ryan was able to transfer all my files to another hard drive (even when my drive was starting to fail) and stayed up late hours through the night transferring to a new computer that I provided. Luckily all my files transferred over and I was able to restore appointments from a backup that he saved. I would definitely recommend computer guru to anyone with a computer problem because they definitely know what they are doing. Thanks again Ryan.

He’s not a guru, he’s an amateur! He was unprofessional, and could care less about your time. If you are a person who can give up your laptop/​PC for an indefinite amount of time, fine, use Computer Guru. But if you rely on your laptop/​PC, don’t go here. In total, it took 1 month for him to tell me that my laptop wasn’t worth repairing. For his trouble, I paid him $ 40. Details follow:
He said my DC jack repair would take 3 – 4 days and cost $ 150 (seemed reasonable). I week later, I hadn’t heard from him so I called. He said, «we haven’t received the part yet, I’m expecting it later today. I’ll give you a call when your laptop’s ready.» No big deal right? But no, I got no call that day.
I didn’t hear from him for another week, so I called back. This time he said, «I think we got that part on Saturday (2 days earlier) so it should be ready this afternoon. I’ll call you.» Okay, 2 weeks in. But at least I’ll have my laptop back this afternoon. NOPE. No call.
I called back 3 days later. He said they’d tried the new DC jack and it didn’t fix the problem. He said they’d try it again and give me a call in about 30 minutes to tell me how it went. No call. 2 days later he called and said the DC jack wouldn’t fix the problem and that the motherboard needed replacing. The repair would now cost $ 340, but he said it’d be ready in 3 – 4 days. I emphasized that I needed the laptop back ASAP and I was willing to pay for express shipping on the part. He said he’d call back in 5 minutes with estimates. Keeping with the theme — I received no call.
1 week passed (we’re at 3 weeks in). I called him. He said he still hadn’t received the part, but (as you’ve probably guessed) he was expecting it that afternoon and he’d give me a call when it’s ready. I heard nothing from him for the next few days. I called a few times to ask for an update, and got no answer.
I finally got through to him 1 week later (at the 1 month mark). He said, the motherboard repair wasn’t working. The laptop required more repairs than it was worth. I could pay him for the diagnostic ($ 40) and collect the laptop.
I realized that I’d been trusting a bumbling amateur to fix my laptop. He was simply guessing what was wrong. He didn’t know how long it would take to get parts (his 3 – 4 day quotes were a joke). He didn’t know how much the parts would cost (his motherboard quote was off by $ 80). And he didn’t care to communicate the progress of a lengthy repair with his customer. I’m certain that if I’d never called him, we would still have my laptop sitting on his shelf, and I’d be in the dark. He lacked the professional courtesy to get back to me with crucial information. Indeed he never called me at all, except to approve the mother board repair (keep in mind he said he’d get back to me no less than 4 times). I paid him $ 40 to play mechanic with my laptop for a month. Time wasn’t an issue for him, though it was very important to me.
It’s sad when Geek Squad is actually the better choice for PC repair. Steer clear, you’ve been warned. The other reviewers must have gone somewhere else.

I took my computer to these guys because of the rating that they have on Unilocal.They kept my computer for over 24 hrs and then told me that it would cost me $ 350 to recover the data. They didn’t run a proper diagnostic because if they did they would’ve seen that my computer wasn’t set up as a true RAID 0 and would’ve been able to get the info off. I took it to another company, Erin Ward Consulting, that actually did the research in an hour and figured out that they could get the data off and got my computer up and running for a grand total of $ 100. So glad I got a second opinion!!!

Loved this place! Cracked my LCD screen when I dropped my laptop and they fixed it in just a few days and wiped out all of my viruses for a very low price. On top of that they picked it up and dropped it off for free! Very legit.

I want to add my support for Computer Guru. Mont was right on time and did a great job trouble-​shooting my computer. He also showed me a much more efficient way to back-​up my data. Not only will I not hesitate to go to Computer Guru again, they will be my first call.

I’ve used their services twice in the last year or so, and they’ve been terrific. Once was to recover my 11,000 (yes, that’s eleven thousand) songs that I accidentally deleted from my iTunes folder on my hard drive. I was absolutely beside myself that I had lost all of my music for good, even though it was backed up, and they saved me much heartache and anguish! Recently, the other was to move a hard drive from an old PC to a new one.
The guys are always on time, and prompt with their promised delivery dates. These guys go the extra mile and their pricing is very reasonable. I hope I don’t ever have to use them again, since that usually means something is broken, but if I do they’ll be the first ones I call with any of my computer and IT support needs.

Five stars seem bleak compared to the service that I received… Blown away… I have been enlisting the services of Geek Squad for years… and for what??? Computer Guru was absolutely amazing! Justin was the most courteous… we ran into some difficulties with my computer (he didn’t admit, but assuredly my fault) and in the midst of it all, began talking of their donation program. Not only did I receive amazing service today, but also was able to donate a lot of old computer systems to a great cause! I wholeheartedly endorse this business and sincerely look forward to working with them again. Thank you, Computer Guru’s!

Computer Guru is GREAT. They pick up and drop off your computer. My computer is running much faster and it was hassle free!
