Colorado Hi-Tec Moving & Storage

Byron and Leonard moved my sister today from one apartment to another in Meridian Westland. They were terrific. They took care of all her fragile belongings and were happy to make adjustments to furniture placement. I highly recommend this company and especially Byron and Leonard. They are awesome.

We had Colorado Hi-​Tec move us 2 times within the past 2 months. Both times they were very quick, careful, and friendly. It was unbelievable to see how capable they are with the move. This past time we had Byron and Leonard, both were able to carry my extremely heavy desk into the house without damaging the desk, walls, doors, or floor. They got heavy furniture upstairs and down in to the basement. We were so happy with them the 1^st time that we called only them the 2^nd move into our new home. We would happily recommend this company to any of our friends.

I would highly recommend Hi-​Tec. We had a somewhat complicated move, despite only moving 30 miles. Hi-​tec helped us move out of our 3000 sq. ft. 2-​story house with a 100 sq. ft. finished basement. They handled disassembling all our furniture and packing our TVs. Their team of 4 got the job done in the time they said it would. They then stored all of our stuff for a month and a half and showed back up and moved it all in in the time they said it would. They got all of our stuff put back together and all the boxes in the correct rooms.
When someone quotes you a job, and follows through with what they said they’d do for the price they said they’d do it for, that’s 5 stars. Hi-​tec gave us peace of mind in a very hectic move and time in our life.
Finally, just some general advice — get the full value moving insurance. Don’t be a cheap skate and take the default 60 cents per pound insurance and then complain when something lightweight, fragile, and expensive (like a flat screen TV) breaks. After going through 2 full house moves that involved storage in between I can tell you that something will break. It cost $ 420 to insure $ 30,000 worth of belongings.
Having a company do what they said they’d do for the price they said they’d do it for, along with getting insurance for the damage that will inevitably happen when you move breakable things, is all you should expect when you move. Hi-​Tec provides that and I’d recommend them to anyone.

My move was on 6÷24÷15 with Enrique, Ron, and Tim and they all did a fantastic job. I mainly had them move the furniture and heavier boxes and everything they moved was packed with the right amount of care, padding, etc. I had used a different moving company a year ago and this experience was far and away better. Their rate was a little higher than some other quotes I received but it was well worth it. The charges were exactly as I had been explained on the quote and I highly recommend this company.

Service was great, Cheerful, friendly and ON TIME!!! Byron, Jordan and Enrigue were very polite. The crew was very efficient, they communicated clearly with me and they listened to my concerns. When they had unloaded everything, they asked me if there was anything else I wanted them to do. I had one small additional request, (just needed one piece of furniture adjusted.) They jumped on this additional task with a smile. Really great people to work with. Byron, Jordan and Enrique are top notch!

Do yourself a favor — find someone else. No communication — didn’t even have the decency to call me with the final bill — just billed my credit card. I found out how much my move cost me by checking my Visa account on line. My shipment from Colorado to Arizona (only a 12 hr drive by the way) came in two shipments — they didn’t have room for all my stuff because they had to ship a Jeep Wrangler for someone else — REALLY!!! Only when I threatened to stop payment on the credit card did I get a call back letting me know that they FOUND another driver to pick up my stuff in Denver and bring it to me in Arizona. Cheap outfit all the way around.

I always say that only people who have bad experiences write reviews. We are tough customers and had our reservations selecting Colorado Hi-​Tec/​Wheaton since their bid was cheaper than the others we received and the reviews were mixed. I can’t speak for everyone but we had a great experience. Angie was awesome, communication was good, and I haven’t found a single scratch on a single item. We moved a 4,000 sqft house so we had a lot of stuff. Things came on time with no damage and at a good price so they earned a 5 star review from a happy customer. Keep in time when reading reviews that they do 100s if not 1,000s of moves each year so this is a small sample but they were great for us.

Totally satisfied! We did plenty of research and were thrilled with the entire experience. The bid here was lower than all of the big names in moving companies, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.

From the first call to the final piece of furniture off the truck, this was a great experience. We used Colo Hi-​Tec to move my mother’s belongings from Illinois to a retirement community in Highlands Ranch. Everything was well-​packed by the Wheaton agent in Illinois, carefully packed into the van, loaded into storage and promptly delivered to two stops in Colorado. We were provided with complete information and treated professionally every step of the way. Received a call from Wheaton on the day of the loading and the day of delivery to make sure we were satisfied. Local crew of Adrian, Dave, Rick and Robert was courteous, strong and smart and helped me insure that all of the items on the check-​off sheet were properly recorded and accounted for. Used this company as the origination agent and would highly recommend them based upon my experience.

This is a follow up review. THEY WERE HORRIBLE!!! The move in cost was over $ 2000 — double what they bid. They damaged items — they admitted they had «run out of furniture pads» when packing the truck — and then they denied my insurance claim for repairs claiming that I was «underinsured» (after purchasing $ 100,000 of insurance and sustaining $ 3000 in damages). DO NOT USE THEM!!!
If you for some reason HAVE to use them, make a detailed inventory and negotiate with them up front that you will not have to pay the movers’ time while you mark and list the items moved. They lost a box of antique books — many were my great-​grandparents’ — and then said that because there wasn’t a list, they would not pay for them. Sounds like this is common practice for them based on other reviews.

STAY AWAY!!! They are very helpful at first, because they want your money, then once you sign off on the contract they add fees with no prior notice. Always ask the moving company if the semi they bring to your place will fit AND if not what is the cost for special loading or a shuttle. They charged me 400.00 the day of my move in cash for extra moving fees. They said I saved money, b/​c I didn’t have to pay for a shuttle which would cost 700.00. Had I known upfront about his additional cost I’d of been fine with it, but that’s the way they roll. When I finally get moved they forget to leave me an umbrella weight/​stand for my patio furniture. I called the driver, he said he found it and he’d drop it off on his way back through. That was over a month ago… guess it’s too late for a claim now. Wheaton/​Beacon is the company that moved me and they were ok, but Colorado Hi-​tec did the actual set up and etc. Do your homework and ask questions in advance, after that you’re useless to them.

Worst experience ever. They lost 3 boxes including silver & irreplaceable
family pictures, damaged furniture & told me they can’t find my things. The salesman was good but that’s about it.

This company was an absolute pleasure to work with. We have moved several times before, and the experience with these guys was great from the quote call through to the end of the job. John came around to quote, and besides being extremely knowledgeable and thorough, introduced me to a new radio station I now love when he saw my trombone in the corner.
Ishmael and his crew were punctual, courteous, friendly and worked hard the whole time. We moved a number of restored arcade and pinball machines which were our main concern, and they moved them (and everything else) with no damage to the machines or the properties.
Perhaps best of all, the guys got the job done in less than the estimated time which meant the bill was lower than we had expected. One of the things I liked about Colorado Hi Tech compared to some of the other companies that we got quotes from was that there were no ‘unknown’ charges for things like packing material etc.
