His wife is Carol He goes by Alex Java Alex Javalera Jr., etc. Installer is Josh Please get a copy of the drivers license before you commit. Be warned they take the deposit and do not return to install. We have filed a complaint with the sheriffs dept and are pursuing other legal remedies. We have spoken with an attorney and are going to the media. You can suggest to pay the carpet out for the carpet. Avoid giving the money to them that way if they don’t install the carpet belongs to you and you can hire someone else. Get a copy of his drivers license and his social security card. March of 2014 we hired Alex Carpets to install carpet in a house we were about to sell. Everything went smoothly and he beat every price that we were quoted. EXCEPT we were convinced he didn’t install the actuall type of carpet we picked out. He said he did, and we let it go because we sold the house and moved on. May 2015 We hired him to carpet our basement in our new home, again because he is so affordable. He came to our home and measured and signed a sales agreement, and required 50% down to order the carpet. We gave him a check and chose an install date. He cashed the check, and we waited on the day of delivery and he never showed, We were strung along for several days with reasons like they were waiting at the warehouse and it was backed up, or Alex lost his phone, or whatever, and then finally 5 days later he did not answer our texts or phone calls anymore. It is now July 18^th and we have no carpet, and he will not respond to us in any way, and yet he has cashed our check for $ 660.00
We are filing fraud complaints and reporting him to the BBB and anywhere else we can, PRAYING we can get our money back. Our entire project is 2 months behind because you can’t move into a level with no flooring, and we are out the days of work, and the $ 660. I obviously do NOT recommend this company.
As far as the person with 5 stars who says someone is impersonating him, that thoery doesn’t work and I suspect it’s a false review. We met Alex in person when he did our work in 2014 and met him again, and it’s the same guy.

I wrote a check for a deposit on carpet over 2 weeks ago. Was scheduled for the install 1 week later, even fot a text from the installer, Paul. I waited for 3 days straight, with promises from both Alex and Paul. I have not heard from either of them and they have since stopped answering my phone calls and text messages. I am under a really tight deadline and will have to find someone else to do the job, ASAP. My mistake giving a deposit to someone that has done work for me in the past and have recommedned to others. I will file a fraud complaint with the seceratary of state and see where that gets me.

My husband and I have used
Alex Carpets since 2005 without any problems. Imagine our surprise to see the negative feedback on Unilocal and then, this past month actually be treated in the same manner described by these reviews! Alex collected ½ of our quote for his deposit. Promised multiple deliveries, missed multiple deliveries, promised discount — all via text message. When we pushed for a refund — 2 crews showed up — WITH THE WRONG CARPET. Hubby got no response when problem was addressed via voice mail and text. However the carpet installer was able to get answers — so we know Alex’s phone was working. As Alex is unwilling to answer his phone (or even provide text messages at this point) — a long standing customer who has sent him multiple referrals — is left to pick up pieces. Alex was quick to provide the quote and PICK UP the deposit. BUT Alex can’t finish the job. This is not the same company we’ve done business with in the past. From one business owner to another: BAD WAY TO DO BUSINESS –ALEX!

Alex Javalera is a fraud and he owns Alex Carpets. The installers know Alex because they have worked for him a long time. Paul Martinez, one of Alex’s subcontractors, told me Alex delivers the wrong carpet to his customers on a regular basis. Another installer, Carlos, told me Alex often throws his installers and customers under the bus.
So believe what you will, but Alex Javalera is a fraud.
If you need to find him look on the Secretary of State website under Alex Carpets and you will find his home address on Crestline. You can serve him there but good luck as he has mastered avoiding being served.

BEWARE of this fraudulent business. This guy Alex runs a scam in that he collects your carpet deposit and your check made out to Alex Carpets and he actually alters the check (payee) by inserting his name and the banks mistakenly pay it. He will never ever return your calls when the installers don’t show up (they were scheduled for my house on Monday, 23 and everyday since I am getting text message lies and excuses. I have filed a fraud complaint and have an open police investigation with Arvada. I will also send complaints to John Ferrugia, Investigative Reporter because this guy is a cheat and scammer. His wife is in on the scam as well — advertising a business that does not exist because they got evicted for non rent payment. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY.

A lot of the comments are negative but I have always had an amazing experience with Alex. He has done multiple houses for my family and I and it has always turned out better than we expected… now I will share my story and am wondering if this is why there are so many negative posts on Alex and his company. My husband and I got a quote from Alex and we happened to find one other guy on craigslist that could get us the carpet slightly cheaper but installed faster so we went with him… His name was «Adam» his real name Anselmo Trujillo… he took a deposit for half and never showed up… I would call and call no answer. Then when he did answer he would have an excuse and say it would be taken care of. After two weeks of back and fourth I had to call Alex back and order more carpet so we could actually move in… Well come to find out «Adam» was posing as Alex and using his address as his place of business on craigslist!!! The only reason I caught it was because I happened to be looking at Alex’s business card the same time I was looking at «Adams» post on Craigslist and caught the address. Turns out «Adam» used to work for Alex but was fired… He kept a carpet book and decided he was going to go around town scamming people!!! I contacted the police but since Adam lied with his employment with Alex we could not locate him through a SSN or address… I feel bad for Alex because Adam totally used his business as a front and scam. I would love to know if anyone else met «Adam» phone number 72×−257−8182. I never got my money back for that scum bag! But as for Alex I would use him again any day! He even gave us a discount on nicer carpet because we got scammed. Hope this may help clear up some of the negative posts!

if I could give zero stars, I would. We ordered carpet on November 19, 2014 & we are still waiting for install. We are always getting the run around about install. Alex is a lying cheat and we plan on taking him to small claims court to recover our money.

You can probably find reviews about Alex carpets all over the place and see the same kind of horrible reviews, and they’re true! I would never recommend this place to anyone, he’s a SCAMMER that will take your money and then dodge your phone calls and if you’re able to reach him or someone else in his business, he’ll make up a phony appointment time to come and do measurements or install then not show up or even give you a call that he won’t be there. This place is sketchy on all levels, AVOID THEM! I had to turn him in for fraud to get my money back for services not rendered and the headache he’s put us through trying to get our carpets done. Very unprofessional business with liars that work there, you’re much better off not going with them.

Last update… Alex’s version of the story is not even close to what happened. He is a lying salesman so of course he can fabricate a BS fairytale. I never told him not to come to my house to finish the job or explain himself, why would I do that? I ended up driving to his shop to try and track him down so we could settle the issue but he was always «hiding». I could sit here and refute all the BS he just posted, but I don’t have time for that– you get the idea… don’t trust alex javalera

Dealing with this company was such a headache! They don’t return phone calls and make you guess when they’ll show up. I was told the carpet I wanted was on back order and would be in on a Friday. They said they would install on Monday then I get a call saying they needed to move the install to Tuesday at 9:45 am because their installer would be out of town Monday. 9:45 on Monday came around and I hadn’t heard anything so I called they said he would be here by 1030. 11 came around and they called saying they were at the warehouse waiting on the carpet. They never showed up on Tuesday. I called MULTIPLE times trying to figure out when they’ll show up and no one one would answer. We left messages asking for a returned call from the owner or the guy who sold me the carpet. Neither ever returned phone calls. Wednesday we did have an installer come who did do a good job. However I would have personally liked to speak to the owner for the ridiculous inconvience they caused us. 2 days instead of 1 day of work had to be missed, all of our furniture was moved out for longer then expected, etc. If you want to play a guessing game with these people and wonder when and if they will even show up then this is the place to go. If not I would spend the extra money and go with a place that you know will be reliable.

We were sold a 40 oz Mohawk carpet and guaranteed delivery on Thursday, it was a 25 oz off-​brand carpet and not installed until Saturday
We were sold a 40 oz Mohawk carpet and it was guaranteed to be installed Thursday (I have a receipt to prove it), knowing this we scheduled our hardwoods to be refinished Friday. All of Thursday we were unable to reach Alex Carpets, nor the salesman, no one would answer their phone. Eventually I used my neighbors phone (and a different phone number) and they answered. Unfortunately I was told that they didn’t know why the installers weren’t there and that they would call me back. This of course was a lie and I was never called back and again unable to reach them. Friday I received a call that they would be there at 9am with 2 crews to install the carpet. They arrived with 1 crew at noon… and the wrong carpet! it was VERY thin carpet and nowhere near what I paid for. When I called the owner he said that it would fluff up when vacuumed. I was told lies regarding why they were late, the carpet style, brand, warranty etc and every excuse for why I should still pay. In the end we had to install the carpet because we had to finish the hardwoods that day and were selling our house that same week.
