Wow! I just stopped in because I had a headlamp out in my car. They changed my bulb within mins and they were about to close. The cost was under $ 10, I had originally called my dealership because I didn’t know of any mechanic shops and it was going to be 250+. Looks like I know where I’m starting in the future. Thank you 6^th Ave!

I went to have my step daughters head lights fixed and the bulbs just needed to be adjusted. There wasn’t a charge and it only took 20 minutes. We will take all our cars there for any service.

This place is awesome! The staff was extremely friendly and efficient from the second I walked in the door. I didn’t feel like I was being jerked around or taken advantage of as you do with most other places. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of servicing their car! Thank you!

Ok, have to admit this is the first time I had to have my car repaired without the guidance of a guy. Car was overheating — yes in the winter. Was told by a different shop it the water pump costing quite a it so went here for second opinion. They thought it was the thermostat — which it was and did not cost nearly as much as replacing the water pump.

Emich Volkswagen told me that my 2000 Passat was done for. I took it to 6^th ave. auto for a second opinion and the guys had it fixed in 2 days! they explained everything to me and I felt that the price was pretty reasonable.

Went in for an oil change and the owner/​manager could not have been more rude to me making me voluntarily run out of there while he yelled at me. I simply asked if it would take longer than an hour and he said yes, so I went elsewhere while he cursed at me. This neighborhood car shop is not friendly and I would not recommend it to anyone!

I took my car in because it was leaking transmission fluid. Took it in at 8am on a Thursday, didn’t hear a word all day so I called at 4:45pm, only to find out they hadn’t even gotten started. Was quoted at almost $ 700 and told it would be done the next day by end of day. No word all day and when I called around 5 they still hadn’t touched it, saying their parts were late due to weather. This was all fine except I didn’t even get a call about it, which leads me to think they just wanted me to stay uninformed (therefore, leaving the car there to be fixed by them rather than taking it somewhere else). We picked it up the next morning and took it somewhere else where I received the same service for $ 500 and it took one day.

So thrilled that I found these guys. My wife’s Beetle was due for the 80k checkup which Emich VW wanted to charge us over $ 1k to do. Considering these were the people who said «just hit it» to fix the headlight that didn’t always work, I was skeptical. I checked with 6^th Ave Auto and they said they’d take a look. Not only did they fix the headlight, but they did the 80k checkup and it came in less than 40% of the cost Emich wanted to charge. They were quick & professional and gained a new loyal customer.

I haven’t even picked up my car, and this place already is 5 star worthy. I had multiple issues going on with my 2006 VW jetta, expecting a ton of cash to be paid out to fix. These guys were honest, fast, and got everything done under budget.
Highly recommend for ANY service VW related, and I will be bringing my car here for all other items that come up down the road.

I came in to get an oil change here before taking my car on a long trip to Ouray. My brother is a mechanic, and he usually works on my car, but our schedules weren’t going to line up before I went out of town so I bit the bullet and looked for a good mechanic. (There are too many things wrong with my clunker to take it to Grease Monkey or Jiffy Lube… they come back to me with a list a mile long of things I «need» done)
I scheduled an appointment here at 8 on a Monday morning, and was out by about 8:45. The service was super friendly and quick, and the girl working there was nice to chat with while I waited.
I will be back here whenever my free mechanic isn’t available! Great service.

Woman to woman, we all know that finding a good mechanic is about as much fun as having your hand nailed to the wall.
I will take my car to 6^th Ave for the duration of my time in Denver. Randy, the owner, is very nice, always helpful and definitely takes the time to explain what they are doing to my car — without treating me like I wouldn’t understand «car stuff» because I’m a female.
Volkswagen’s aren’t the cheapest cars to work on but the prices here are reasonable.

I went to Sixth Avenue Auto Services upon reading the reviews and having horrible experiences with other mechanics. The customer service at Sixth Avenue Auto Services was exceptional and prompt.
I took my car to get my brakes checked out. My car was ready within a couple of hours and they shared what they thought was wrong with my car. The price was also great. Overall great service and honest work.

They fixed one problem I had and caused a whole other issue because they neglected to put my car back together properly and all while charging me twice as much as any other place. Also took way to long to fix my issue that should of taken maybe two days.

We have been using this shop for our two cars for the last three years, and I have been nothing but pleased with the staff and service. The cars are always done on time and for a fair price. They do a great job of setting expectations and meeting them.

I had to give this place a shout out and am sort of surprised that there is only one other comment. I guess it’s not really that common to review auto service shops, but this one deserves it.
I was on my way to work yesterday when my oil light went on. I immediately saw dollar signs because, as the other reviewer mentioned, the dealer always charges a lot. However, I was right near Sixth Avenue Auto, and used to take my car there years ago (I just moved back to Denver after 10 years) so I decided to stop by. Long story short, they set my expectations by saying they couldn’t get to it until later in the afternoon. That’s okay, I didn’t have an appointment. Then, they called me to say they thought it just needed some oil, but would drive it around the block to make sure that’s all that was wrong. 30 minutes later, they called to say it was done, and it would be a whopping $ 50. I will take my cars here forever. Even Jiffy Lube has to go through the whole sales process before you get out of there, but these people are friendly, fast, and fair. (And within walking distance of my house). What more can you ask for?

I have always taken my 2006 Jetta TDI into the dealer for service. The last time was to replace the Turbo — 5,000 out of warranty. It was $ 2500.00 and they were, as usual, heartless. It now needed it «BIG» service, at 80,000 miles — timing belt, transmission service, all the little things like cabin filters and the like. The dealer wanted nearly $ 4,000 for the work. I decided it was time to try an outside garage. These folks came highly recommended — so I gave ‘em a try. It’s been a month now, and everything is working like new — for $ 2,400.00. The guys were good about telling me what they needed to do (about the same as the dealer — without the extra charges for LOOKING at stuff) and then gave me the price, which I found very fair, in comparison. They did the work as promised on time on budget and the car seems happier than ever. This is my new shop.
