4G’s on Broadway

Chips and salsa are pretty good, but everything else was only so-​so. I got 2 chili rellenos soft, and a crispy beef taco. My husband got 3 crispy beef tacos. The tacos were nothing special, not great, not terrible, though they could have drained the liquid off the meat more, as our shells got soggy right away. The rellenos were the most disappointing part of the meal. They ended up just being a single green chili strip sprinkled with some cheese, wrapped in what I can only describe as an omelet. Not a chili relleno, not good. The beans that came with our medals were fine, and I actually really liked the rice, though husband said it was nothing special. The service was also lacking. It took at least 15 minutes after being finished to get our check. Overall, not terrible, but not a place we’d choose to return to. There are too many other great Mexican places in the area to settle for mediocre.

We came here last night and even though the place was only about half-​full, it took FOREVER to order. Someone later said they were understaffed, but it seemed like every employee there was just hanging around the bar. So pretty bad service, although one employee was nice enough to take over when our server just kind of disappeared.
Anyways, the food was decent. I ordered the carnitas plate and it was okay. The green chile was nothing to write home about and a few of the carnitas pieces were too fatty to eat. And their margaritas weren’t very strong. Sigh… probably won’t be back.

My husband and I frequent 4G’s often as it’s very close to our house. If you’re in the mood for what we call «sloppy» Mexican food, then this is your place. I typically order a la carte and get the crispy relleno and a beef tostada. Both are decent. My husband usually orders a combo plate, and again, pretty good. They pre-​mix their margaritas, so when you order, they pour some of the mix into a blender for a few seconds then into your glass. Nothing to write home about. Their prices are definitely on the high end for what you get and we are often shocked when we receive our check.
The trouble we find with 4G’s is the service is highly inconsistent. Sometimes we will go in when there is a crowd and have great, fast service. Other times it will be empty and our food/​drink orders take forever. One of the usual bartenders/​waitresses is VERY forgetful, so when she is serving us we often have to ask for almost everything twice.
If they’re having a good night, it’s a fantastic place to grab a drink and some food. If it’s an off night, you may be in there for an hour and a half. I would never go with a large group or when it is crowded.

I’m glad I didn’t choke on what felt like a wood chip from the chorizo breakfast burrito, the owner said it was likely dried clove that wasn’t grinded enough.
Don’t get me started on how the owners tried to make me look like the bad guy for requesting a $ 11.50 refund, they started a scene in their restaurant for only $ 11.50…sad.

Per Jeff, we tried to order the farmers breakfast, however it’s not on the menu so we are assuming he meant the round house… with that being said service was excellent, free coffee and a juice comes with all breakfast orders BONUS, I did not check in because I don’t like tequila so no margaritas for us. The round house was huge, lots of food. I had the #2 combo delicious. The chips were nice and crisp with the salsa. All in all very good experience

Well, I know there are a few places that do margaritas by the pitcher, but here they don’t serve some tiny carafe of booze… We have hate a huge 64oz real pitcher, and all four of us have our work cut out!

Happened upon this place with my girlfriend as we were on an evening bike ride. It looked inviting from the street (interestingly decorated, nice bar, good lighting etc.) and normally we love mexican food so we headed in.
Unfortunately there wasn’t nearly as much thought put into the food as there was the interior design. It’s your typical tex/​mex fare (not that difficult to pull off).
We were greeted by very friendly young lady as our waitress and other staff were polite and accommodating. I really liked the salsa they give you when you’re seated and I like the cool oversized glass mugs they serve beverages in. So far so good…
We started off with an appetizer sampler because of the waitresses recommendation. It’s Guacamole salad, cheese dip, and bean dip with tortilla chips. Sounds good right? Well the cheese was super runny almost grainy liquid, definitely not what we were expecting… looked gross. The bean dip was just refried beans out of a can with shredded cheese on top, it was crusty and dry, who knows how long it’d been sitting around. The guacamole was like foamy/​runny like it was over processed… it’s taste wasn’t horrible, but the bottom half of the little bowl it was in was filled with lettuce… 12.50 for those little three dips… I felt kinda ripped off.
Since the appetizers were so disappointing we decided to share an entre just in case. Boy was that a good decision! We got carnitas with extra tortillas so we could share. The tortillas were great but the pork was like 50% soft squishy fat… not what we are used to having great carnitas all over town. The green Chile flavor was good but it doesn’t make up for that low quality piece of meat.
Needless to say we probably wouldn’t return for a meal. Maybe just for drinks at the bar.

Solid but not extraordinary. It will definitely scratch your itch for Mexican food at good prices.

It took about 20 minutes for a server to take our order. Food arrived quickly and was tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely give it another try.

I love this place because not only do they tolerate my dog, they love her! She’s aloud on the outside patio and they even brought her fresh water. The food is decent– not the best Mexi in town but pretty good. I don’t recommend the green chili, it has refried beans and ground beef in it, and I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to that, but everything else I’ve had has been good. Service is always amazing, everyone is soo nice and friendly. The patio is really nice and shady. Specials on Taco Tuesday, ladies night Wednesday, and free margaritas with a Unilocal check in! They have great margaritas. Come check it out with your furry friend, it’s a great little local favorite

I came here a couple of weekends for lunch and thought this place really hit the mark for affordable mexican food. The salsa was delicious, the green chili was great, and the service was just fine. All in all I enjoyed my meal here and will be back.
A bonus was the free margarita you get by checking in on Unilocal… it was tasty and strong.

I really enjoy 4 G’s. They have a nice dog friendly patio. Very good House Margaritas for only $ 4.50, and a free one if you check in on your Unilocal app.
The service is always very good, and the food is very tasty as well.

Great food, margaritas are awesome. Received a margarita for checking in, set on the patio and enjoyed our time.
Service was a little slow when it came to paying the bill.

I will start out by saying that Mexican food is one of my most favorite and frequently ordered foods. I eat it in some form at least twice a week and I’m always trying to find new restaurants with yummy food and a well made margarita always help boost the wow factor for me. Unfortunately this was not the case at 4 G’s. I wanted to like it, I really did.
We arrived around 7:45 and the dining room was pretty close to empty. There were only two other tables seated at the time. We were promptly helped to a booth and given menus. They have a pretty big menu and mostly everything looked appetizing to me. To start things off, I ordered a margarita. There were a couple other Unilocal reviews that stated the margs were really good here so I had to see for myself. She came back with them really quickly which made me believe that they were a pre-​mix. There are some restaurants that make theirs from scratch and pre-​mix them due to heavy demand when there is high volume. This was definitely not the case. They tasted like they were straight from a bottle you can get at Costco.
I ordered the chile rellano plate because they are one of my most favorite dishes. My dining companion ordered a combination plate that consisted of a burrito, enchilada, and a tostada. The food came really quick as well. The chile rellanos were actually really good and crispy. The rice and beans that came on the side were mediocre at best. Some of the rice was crispy and there was a layer of dry skin on top of the beans. Meh is a great way of describing my experience here. The server was really nice and checked in, but not overbearingly.
They have a nice big private lot and a patio that did not look open when we were there.

Great restaurant, love the atmosphere. Margaritas are the best! The patio on Friday nights are a must with the fajita platter. Can’t be beat!

The food is AMAZING, everything is sooo delicious. My favorite is the carnitas.
I got a free house margarita for checking in & that was the best I’ve had in a long time.
The staff is also really great, best waiting service I’ve seen in a long time. Other restaurants need to check em out. Hahaha

This is a newer establishment. It reminds me of a diner with Mexican food. I had the steak fajita burrito with green sauce and guacamole. The ingredients were fresh and the steak was tasty, but it lacked presentation. My waitress did not ask how I was doing and it took awhile to get my check.

Here for dinner for my first time with the lady on a Saturday night. Little quite, but not totally dead.
Service — 4 stars. Server was very friendly to greet us as was our waitress.
Food — 3.5 stars. Not the best Mexican in town, but solidly good. I put together a random a la cart dinner Roth chilli rellano, beef enchilada and tamale. Rellano was OK, but could have been crisper and with more filling. Everything else was good, tamale was really good texture just needed more filling. Classic New Mexico green chilli though, very tasty. Salsa that came before dinner was very tasty.
Drinks — 4.5 stars. I got 4 G’s marg, very tasty. Girlfriend got the house (free with check in BTW), and solid for what it was.
Overall, enjoyed the experience. Will come back for brunch, heard they have good breakfast. Not the best Mexican in town but for the price was hard to beat.

Muy authentico y delicioso. We regularly enjoy 4 G’s. The owners and servers couldn’t be nicer.
The atmosphere is always great. So nice to have a great restaurant so close.

BIG FAN OF A MEXICAN LUNCH BUFFET!!!
A friend and I stopped in for lunch and found an awesome spread! What a great surprise. My friend has dietary restrictions and the proprietor made sure to bring him the kosher green chile. I have diet restrictions too (try not to talk about ‘em) and had NO ISSUES finding plenty of yummy choices!
The proprietor greeted us on the way in, on the way out, bent over backwards to make us happy. Similarly the server was super friendly as well. The buffet was kept loaded with piping hot delicious fresh choices– I loved the large salad offerings! Fresh and crisp!
The buffet was 8.50. The friendly staff and service really pushed this from a S. Broadway hole in the wall to a REALLY NICE FAMILY RUN PLACE!!! Food quality– A-​OK! One more great new restaurant on South Broadway!!!
