I liked this place overall, the food actually tastes pretty good. We were a group of 6 and shared 3 appetizers and each of us ordered an entrée. I had the salmon and it was delicious– crispy on the outside and just cooked right on the inside. Their pita bread is absolutely amazing. Here are my issues with this place: — They need to work on the ambience. The location is good, but you can’t even tell that there’s a restaurant above Prepkitchen. A lighted sign and some string lights will make a world of difference. — Pricey menu. Almost all entrees are between $ 25 – 36 and the portions are small. The Salmon was a decent portion(and I am not a big eater), but I saw my friends’ plates and if you don’t order appetizers, you’ll leave hungry. — Their liquor license expires at 10pm. So, you cannot order any drinks after that and in fact they will come to clear your wine glass from the table. If you are still drinking, they’ll ‘nudge’ you to hurry. — I asked for a to-go box, we were still drinking and our server promptly got us the bill. She didn’t ask us if we wanted any dessert. I am not going to leave my food out if I know I am done. Anyway, she apologized and got us the dessert menu once we asked for it… thank god coz the Baklava ice cream is to die for. I plan to return to see if things are better the second time.

The outdoor seating with the heat laps is comfortable even on an overcast evening and the partial view of the ocean is good. The service was fast and friendly. The food was above average but there’s room for improvement.

Good Greek food with nice ocean view. It is casual setting and I loved it. Ram meat balls are perfectly grinned in a ball and so juicy! We ordered the two deserts and glad we had salted caramel pudding and chocolate gelato! You can go there as a casual date night to a family gathering. Monday is closed. It’s above the prep kitchen. You dam find a plenty of parking spots around this restaurant. I must go back for ram chop next time!

I was pretty excited for a local Greek /Mediterranean restaurant — that’s not in a mall. It’s located on top of Prep-Kitchen in old downtown Del Mar and with mostly outdoor seating(heat lamps above). We had the trio dip($ 15) bee salt salad($ 11) and salmon($ 26). Most of the entrees had some form of lamb except the salmon. It was a great spin on hummus(artichoke) and possibly the best broiled panini pita(not the toasted dry stuff). The salad was good and big enough to share with the trio dip. We shared 1 entrée salmon and it was a perfectly cooked(crispy on the outside and rare at the most interior) with baby carrots and red rice. The salmon was a nice portion if you’re 5′ and 100lbs but prolly would not satisfy a guy, or in this case my husband, unless he had filled up on pita and dip. This location is tough so I wish them well. If I were hem I’d seat all patrons by the railings so that it has more curb appeal from the street… Otherwise you’re walking and greeted by Prep-kitchen which is always fairly busy. I’d also string some lights to let people know they’re even there– that was the problem with Bull Taco who was there last– it kind of faded and you couldn’t tell if anyone was on the patio from the street. Also, it’s a little pricey(entrees $ 24 – 32) considering that Prep Kitchen below is a good option and value. And the price doesn’t really match the patio ambiance. But the food was very good.

Food was amazing! Service was attentive! Can’t beat eating lunch with an ocean view! The owners are sweet. They have creatively constructed a lovely menu. Must try.

The best Greek lunch I’ve ever had. The pita bread is phenomenal. Literally. We came at 1pm for lunch on a Sunday, the downstairs restaurant was busy and we asked for the balcony. They said that was a different restaurant so we upstairs and found Beesalt. Prep Kitchen downstairs is different from Beesalt. Only one customer was there so I was skeptical. But so glad we wanted the balcony. Chichen Soulvaki was amazing. My wife the the salmon which was also amazing. But the show stealer is the pita bread. Try with the trio of dips. The only problem here is that it is not in LA! A bit far for us to come regularly, but we will be back.

Wonderful, romantic spot only wish they had a few substantial vegan entrees. Understand the owners are from Texas, well, they need to take consideration to the local folks like me, who live up the hill from this place. Even our server was vegan. It doesn’t take much to make an entrée vegan. It could only help broaden their clientele. Artichoke hummus was delicious but portion was anything but generous. Dog friendly.

Came here for mom’s night out with seven lovely ladies. This place is directly above Prep Kitchen and has a Greek inspired menu. I ordered the artichoke hummus appetizer which was absolutely delicious. Don’t expect a full bar — it’s beer and wine only. I highly recommend the Tangent Sauvignon Blanc which was very light, crisp and refreshing. Go ahead and buy the bottle. Not much else to say about this place. It’s fairly new and the décor is minimal. It’s very strange that is directly above Prep Kitchen and doesn’t have a wow factor. The view is mediocre. Meh.

Cool new restaurant located directly above Prepkitchen right off of the 101 in Del Mar. This place is essentially a modern Greek joint that yields some pretty delicious fare. Have been here a couple of times and have tried the chicken plate as well as the lamb burger. Both menu items had a ton of taste and were fairly substantial in size. The potatoes were a bit salty but other than that the food was delicious which is nicely paired with friendly and attentive service. Pros– Nice portions Great tasting Fantastic service Nice beverage selection Location Parking garage right behind Cons– A tad expensive Salty potatoes Limited lunch menu

Literally still sitting in the restaurant now. Couldn’t wait a moment to write this. Flawless, inspired renditions of classic Mediterranean fare. Artichoke hummus was perfect. Cheese board was just the right mix of California and Greece. Spanakopitas normally need a sauce for added flavor, but not these. Intricate and delicious. But hot damn, that Baklava ice cream cake… Sweet baby Jesus. So damn good. I want to live in this dessert. Get here. They’re warm and welcoming. True hospitality.

Went with a large group. Everyone raved about the naan bread, Greek salad, and tahini sauce which we ordered for starters. For main dishes we ordered the lamb chops with polenta and veggies which was unbelievable– very well cooked and great presentation. The chicken was also fantastic! The service was good and the waitresses were very friendly. Only downside of the night was having to wait about 45 minutes for our food! However the fine quality of the dishes made up for the delay. For dessert we had the Italian pudding, chocolate gelato, and baklava cake. All was amazing and delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant for couples, families, kids, and anyone who enjoys outstanding cuisine.

I dined here the other night with coworkers and we all had a very enjoyable meal. I had the salmon which was cooked well with this rice and veggie blend. My coworkers had the lamb and the shrimp pasta dish; both said they enjoyed their dishes very much, cooked well, and nice portions that weren’t too heavy. They definitely had a couple other menu items I would be interested in trying. We all decided to try a piece of their famous baklava ice cream cake… oh my gosh this dessert was amazing and paired really well with their strong flavorful coffee. The portions are pretty sizeable and my one co-worker and I wished we had split the the cake as it was on the sweeter side but didn’t regret one bite :). Overall great meal and would definitely recommend or go back. Lovely outdoor seating as well that overlooks Highway 101.

I’ve had lunch and dinner here now. The view is amazing, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious! When I came for lunch, I had the salmon skewers. The portion size was perfect and the fish was fresh. For dinner, I had a pear and walnut salad that had the right amount of sweetness paired with sharp cheese. My husband had the lamb and I had the shrimp pasta. Both were cooked very well! To top it off, they even made a cheese flatbread that my daughter ate. She is a very picky child and hardly ever eats when we go out to restaurants that don’t serve some form of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The waitress talked her into ordering it and then she ate almost the whole thing! Definitely 5 stars!

New family owned restaurant in the Del Mar area. It currently only serves lunch, but that will be changing once they get their liquor license. The food is very Mediterranean and Greek inspired. Came here with a few coworkers and got the artichoke hummus and cheese flatbread to share. The hummus was good, but the cheesy flatbread with tzatziki sauce was to die for. We ended up doing another order of it. I never wouldve thought a yogurt based sauce would go well with cheesy bread, but the pairing was excellent. I was looking for a light lunch so I opted for the pear salad. It was quite delicious and very light and refreshing. The pears were juicy and sweet and I loved the bit of shaved cheese(parmesan I think) on it for that tiny bit of salt. It also came with lots of yummy candied walnuts. The service here was very prompt and friendly. The décor is a little bare at the moment, but I rather like the airy and spacious feeling. The price point is very affordable for Del Mar and I will definitely be adding this to my lunch routine in the future. Was too stuffed for dessert, but I saw that they have a baklava ice cream that I’m going to have to definitely try next time!

Just tried this new restaurant for the first time on Saturday and it was incredible. The balcony is beautiful and overlooks the ocean, the service was awesome and the food was amazing. I had the salmon tartar and the wild greens and pear salad and everything was so fresh and perfectly flavored. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
