Kinda pricey but it is a local business so that’s nice But we never managed to put this place into the rotation. Coming back every once in awhile and leaving feeling full but a bit cheated made us go elsewhere when we go out to eat. I dunno maybe the north shore just can’t hack it with Italian food

We have been here about 6 times so when a coupon appeared in our mail we tried to redeem it. When the check came, They said the coupon was only good for one of our meals as one of us ordered a «special«and it was not eligible. When they brought the menu back to us, in fine print it said specials were not eligible. Talking with the manager, she said the price point was so low on specials she could not give a discount. I had the special eggplant parmigiana for $ 17.00. ??? Service was terrible on a busy Sunday at 6:00. Had just sat down, no menus etc. when waiter wanted our drink order. Same waiter let us cool our heels waiting for our check while he cleared another table. Good food is not enough to make us return, too many other choices.

This place is hard to review because it’s been such a staple for my family. We were pushing 3 decades of steady patronage, when it just became too much of a headache and stopped going. So why one star? This place is run by incompetent people. Food: 5⁄5. Excellent italian standards, very few frills but quality. Never been an issue. Service: 0⁄5. My god, the service here. Wow… it’s pathetic. Wanna wait an hour for spaghetti? Wanna see a chef come out and apologize to a quarter full room because the wait times are pushing 90 minutes on a Tuesday? How about two hours for delivery? Boy have I got a place for you. You’ll wait 2 hours but they’ll probably comp your dessert or some token gesture. Attitude/Staff: 0⁄5. I’ve never been told I should expect bad service because they’re too focused on their catering that night. Classy. Atmosphere: 0⁄5. It used to be a quaint throwback until you put two and two together and see they just don’t care. This place makes me angry because the food is fantastic, it really is, it’s just so poorly run it’s not enjoyable to go. I hope this place closes, because the S*********** family needs to be shown how terrible a job they do. Go to Rosebud, it’s not as good but at least they deserve patronage. I miss Tonnelli’s…

Going to Italian Kitchen is like going to your Italian grandmother’s that you never had. If you live in the area, you’ll see someone you know. If you don’t, same thing. I hadn’t been there for 5 maybe more years, since my son’s carbo-loading days before cross country meets and before I stopped eating grain. The white table cloths, the murals make it swankier than I remember… it felt like a nicer, less franchisey experience than I remember and than the other newer restaurants at the same intersection. But, it’s the food that made a great night. For an app, we ordered mussels with red sauce… It was so good, my companion ate every piece of garlic bread to sop up the remaining morsels of delicious sauce once the shells were out of the way. He had salmon with fresh vegetables that he loved and I had pesto scallops(without rice) that were perfectly prepared. We had a few minute wait for a table on a Saturday evening, which I’d expect. The service was respectful of our pace and very good. I won’t be so long in going back.

My family has been coming here for over ten years. Always great food and very friendly service. Great go to place for family dinner. Also fun for birthdays or dates.

Very disappointed. Service was good. Food was acceptable. I’ll explain why I will not go back there. I ordered $ 29.99 seafood pasta dish(which I was iffy about ordering it). Looked great, tasted OK. Took the left over home. Next day as I was eating it for lunch, I found a piece of plastic wrapper inside my food. I immediately took a picture and called the restaurant to inform them. The lady who answered the phone asked me to text her the photo so she can show it to her owner and he will call me. NEVER called me to apologize. I didn’t call to get my money back. Just wanted to let them know that’s all. I expected the owner to call me and at least apologize. I gave them few days, but never contacted me regarding the issue. Bad business right there. Also, we felt rushed to leave that night with my husband and my kids. The guy was cleaning our table while we were STILL eating, asking if we were still working on our food. I hate that. That’s RUDE. This place needs a big renovation. Especially the restroom. You have to enter door to door to find the restroom. Once you enter its very narrow. I’m a petite person and I barely fit into the stall. Save your money. I was better off going to Maggiano’s. First and last time to this place. Big disappointment.

I know this place has been here for a long time, and the food is good. We only ever come here for the lunch buffet and it’s always been tasty for the $ 12.50 price tag. My reason for posting is to warn people about one surprise. If you come in with that coupon that promises $ 2 off for the lunch buffet, what they do is to give you only EXACTLY $ 2 off. Not $ 2 off per diner as most people would assume.

My review is based only on my take out experience from this place. Yesterday I placed a very large order for my BF birthday. The delivery Was on time 6pm. Here are the items: garlic bread(dry toast with no garlic), veal parmegiana: very small portion for the steep price and was mediocre at best. Chicken limone: 2 very small pieces of chicken for $ 18. Pesto pasta had No pesto, dry and tasteless. I didn’t have anything really GOOD. Conclusion: do u want a good Italian food, order from Rosebud down the road. Very disappointing

Bad service or more like little service from our server, n a pinch of attitude too. Was going to give one star n never return again. Soup n salad took FOREVER to come, server never checked back. Totally ruined our mood. Young tall boy food runner n daughter in law owner saved the day. Well done, great job! We would be coming back for your really delicious food n to see you. Oh busboy man was very attentive too. Side note, Your server could have cost you a one star n a bad review, n you now have 4 stars n a raving for turning a bad situation around.

We Had to put one star because UnilocalWONTALLOW to leave zero stars. Here is our horrible story about The Italian Pizza Kitchen. We ordered bruschetta, a pizza and some spaghetti. The bruschetta was a bit pricy for and order of 3. $ 5.75 is what we paid. I thought perhaps the pieces were going to be larger than your average bruschetta since only THREE pieces came with it. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. I was thinking maybe big pieces??? NOTATALL!!! They were, small, smaller and smallest! See the sad pics that we took! Next was the pizza, BBQ Deluxe. This consisted of bacon, onion, sausage and BBQ sauce. When we opened up the box all of the toppings had slid to one side of the pizza. Maybe the the driver carried upright? Maybe he is new to the world? Maybe he could care less??? All I know is we were pissed!!! It did taste good however. Sad that my hands were covered in BBQ sauce because I had to put the pizza back together UGH!!! Real quick about the spaghetti… It was good no complaints. Lol. Maybe that is what the 1 star is for.

I want to love you Italian Kitchen, but the service is always soooooo sloooooow. Living right around the corner, I want to see this family owned place succeed, but the service, or lack thereof, is too much to bear.

My friend lost a family member and I believe food is the best way to comfort anyone. Living out of the area I found Deerfield Italian Kitchen online. Their staff helped me make sure enough food for her family and would delivered it in my budget. When I had to change the order to a day they were closed, John the owner, worked with me to make sure that they still got the food and delivered on time. When people go through tough times, especially during this season, it is great to have help, no matter how small.

Had Chicken Marsala that came with a side of pasta and a side salad. Subbed marinara for red cream sauce on pasta and was happy I did. Chicken tasted great, but it could’ve been hotter. Service was nice, but our waiter disappeared for a long time which was frustrating since I wanted more cheese and dressing. I think their prices are a bit too high for what they give you. My side salad was a disgrace– would much prefer to order a salad a la carte and not have to pay more for my entrée.

I gave this restaurant a second chance since so many people around my company talk about the lunch buffet, but I just don’t get the appeal. We arrived at 11:10, the door was locked(they were supposed to open at 11). There was a woman on the phone just inside the door. She looked at us several times without making an effort to get off the phone. Finally she made a couple of gestures which seemed to indicate that she’d open the door after she got off the phone. Nope, she got off the phone and walked into the back without a glance. Numerous other people were walking around and nobody made an effort to open the door. Finally the gentleman preparing the buffet opened the door for us.(How did the people at the front table get in the restaurant)? We then stood in the lobby area while everybody walked around and continued to ignore us. A women(the owner’s daughter it turns out) finally told us to sit wherever we’d like. We sat down in a booth and continued to wait for someone to come to the table. We hailed somebody and they took our drink order, but did not bring us plates for the buffet. Argh! The server went to the serving station, but I’m guessing the soda fountain wasn’t working so she walked away to ask someone about it. We then asked if we could get plates for the buffet, she promptly provided them.(The buffet is supposed to include soup or salad, but we weren’t asked about that). While we were at the salad bar the server came up to us and asked if we wanted soup or salad. When we got back to the table I found a can of Diet Coke(had I been told I would get a can of soda I would have ordered something else to drink). The buffet was as mediocre as the first time I had visited. The serving units keep the food at a lukewarm temperature(definitely not hot). There are around 5 selections and pizza. My friend said they used to have desserts also, but there weren’t any today. One of the owners was there being interviewed by somebody today, so I’m not sure if they were thrown off by that. So sorry I gave them a second chance the buffet is high priced, the food is mediocre and it doesn’t seem like they care about their customers.

We were greeted with pro-NRA brochures as we entered the restaurant. Not a great way to start a family outing. I don’t know about you, but I would prefer not to have to worry about concealed carrying of guns by other diners while I eat.

O.M.G.!! What an awesome authentic delicious meal. The marinated octopus with micro cilantro is incredible. I had veal marsala and my gf had spinach lasagna, both were perfect. The burgundy house wine was a perfect match. Topped it off with a huge serving of tiramasu. Highly recommend this place, cozy, down to earth ambience with great servers.

Came here on a Friday night. Place was busy, always good to see for a nice local place. I ordered the linguine with vodka sauce and chicken. Both my companions got the fish fry special(gotta love the Midwest!). The salad came first and to my surprise the dressing automatically came in a closed plastic container, even though I did not ask for it on the side. Maybe because it was a Friday night, but it was a very long time between when we ordered and when the main dishes came. The chef came by later and even commented on how long everything was taking, since they have such a small kitchen. I’m sure it’s frustrating for them to be constrained by the space, but as a diner that doesn’t make it any more fun waiting 45 minutes for the food. Once the food came is was solid, enjoyable pasta. The rest of the table enjoyed the fish fry, although it was a little over-fried. All in all this is a nice place where you can feel comfortable and relaxed.

A local establishment. Great Neighborhood, homestyle Italian food. Casual room, a bit noisy, a bit packed most nights. Thursday nights there is a jazz combo. The pasta is the best in the aria, try the lobster raviolis or the carbonara, or the veal parmesan. They make a great pizza as well. If you want fancy/pretentious, go to Rosebud down the street and pay for it too. If you want better ambiance, and the food is not really that important, then Biaggis might do. Me, I will keep coming back here.

Sometimes you weigh the rating of a place by the service, more so than the food. This happens to be one of those places. The food — in all honesty — I rank as 3.5 stars — but the Sevice is worth 7 stars… you do the math :) Everybody is so friendly and welcoming, and our server(Alex) was incredible. We ordered the chicken tag and a very decent bottle of table wine(Thursday’s are live jazz nights with 50% off bottles of wine) and absolutely loved our experience there. We were seated outdoors and it was a gorgeous 72 degree evening… Perfect weeknight summer(ish) evening

Very cute staple in Deerfield. It’s right on Deerfield road and has been here since the 60’s. The place is very cozy and a little outdated in a good way. We were seated right away and our server was lovely. My mom and I split an entrée and there was no additional cost(I hate that). We were thinking about one thing and the server invited us to try something else. Im so glad we did! Tremendous. It came with a very nice salad and the food was a nice portion. At the end of the meal, the manager came by and invited us to try their homemade lemon alcoholic drink. It was very good. Their was plenty of parking and it sounds like they’ve got some nice events going on during the week. It’s casual and would be a nice place to bring a family. Will be back!
