Hanalei

This place is really great! They do a great job with alterations. I’ve never seen dry cleaning so cheap in my life. They do the best job, and they’re really honest too!

Went to Hanalei cleaners to get my suit dry cleaned and they seemingly did a good job but discovered that there was a small hole in the pants. They offered to repair it by weaving it for a price which should have gotten me suspicious. My fears came true when I got the pants back and they had ironed a patch on the back and stitched all over the wool. It was possibly the worst job I have ever seen. I had to take the pants to a real re-​weaver to get it fixed, who charged extra to undo the awful work. Over $ 100 later, I have my pants back, but looking much worse and clearly not what I had in mind.
I would avoid this place at all costs — VERY bad work.

The service is amazing. They always rush my order if/​when I’m in a bind. The prices are unbelievably fair. I hoard dry cleaning to bring home from Boston just so I can go and say hi and not feel like I need to take out a loan to have my clothes kept in shape. The women who run the store are just so kind.

Dry cleaners are a dime a dozen, right? When your clothes are properly cleaned and the prices are competitive, how do you differentiate? For me, I consider 2 important criteria: Convenience and service. My choice is Hanalei in Deerfield. It’s easy to pull up in front, run in, hop back in your car and be on your way. Total ease of operation. Equally important… the friendly attitude and accommodating service from owner, Jenny. As soon as she sees my car pull up, she gets my clothes ready to go. By the time I get from my car to the counter, my order is ready and waiting. Whenever I ask for expedited cleaning, it’s never a problem. Plus, Jenny is always upbeat and friendly.
While I have not used Hanalei for extensive alterations, they have more than adequately handled hemming and adjusting waistbands. They also do a great job cleaning specialty items such as throw rugs and comforters and repairing bags and purses.
