I’ve been here twice now. both cuts were with Phil… Totally love him … I usually call the day of and hope they have an appt available and I’ve been lucky to have gotten right in but the place seemed a bit busy when I initially got there and died out soon after, guess I missed the rush!. Place is spacious and clean, girl that washes your hair. Actually washes it and doesn’t smash conditioner all over the top of your head making it greasy … My hair is always long so I was skeptical about hacking too much but Phil knew exactly what I wanted, he’s good like that… They also sell unite products… Haven’t used much from them except their moisturizing conditioner(don’t bother) and their 7 second leave in conditioner, this is my favorite product… I don’t know why people buy groupon in here like it’s 40 $-55 $ for a cut. I mean you’re probably only getting a cut once every 3 months, no? Stop being cheap lol… Everyone knows groupon purchases always come with a headache anyway. I’ll continue to come here…

I bought a groupon and have been trying to schedule a hair appointment for several times but each time they would give me an excuse as to why they are not able to take me. Why advertise on groupon if you dont want the business? Worst service. Do not i bother going.

Hi, I visited the salon after knowing the chain Cactus and know that they do good hair work I only came in for a blow out on the particular day but I was very happy with how it came out. Also I like that they sell jewelry and that they have sales… I will definitely be returning !!!

I purchased a Living Social deal for partial highlights, deep conditioning, & a haircut/blow out. Appt: Said I have dark hair & wanted to be sure that the colorist will be comfortable working with dark hair. I was hoping for someone with a bit of experience. I got a non-response…so I just bluntly asked about the stylists’ experience and the receptionist said she did not know. Get to the salon, waited 20 min past my appt. Stylist came over to me on the couch in the waiting area and asked what I wanted. I asked if she was going to do the consultation from the couch… she said«wherever». In response(confused), I said I wanted to highlight my roots to match the color to my current highlights. She wasn’t sure if I’d need a toner & said she may/may not be able to match the color. Over the phone, all I was being told was that the stylist needs to see my hair. This stylist never even took me to her station or asked to take down my ponytail. My actual appt. I asked the receptionist if anyone more experienced was available. They booked me with Angela who they said had 20+ yrs. of experience. Angela was friendly. She checked on me frequently under the dryer and monitored my color. Cut Angela cut to the length I requested. Said my hair was too thin on one side however, my hair was parted to that side so obviously there was less hair on that side. Overall, I was pleased with the haircut; simple trim & angles. Blow out Angela didn’t use product, didn’t clip sections of my hair up to blow out one section at a time. She just used a round brush to brush through my hair and dried it with a blow dryer, without using a concentrator nozzle. She did not style it in any way. The result was flat hair. When it was done, I noticed really dark roots however, she said it was b/c I came in with dark roots… That’s usually what people come in with if they need highlights. Confused again. When I got home, I saw the same roots on my side parts that I went in with. When I put my hair up in a ponytail, I had visible dark roots all along the hairline. I called the salon and they scheduled me for the day after for a correction. Correction appt.: I arrived 15 min late; called to inform them ahead of time. Angela was really annoyed. Said she had her next client in 10 min. I showed Angela my roots. Said she could not see them(I still have the same roots even after my color correction). You can CLEARLY see 1+ inch of dark roots. When she finally agreed to the section I pointed out being too dark, she said she intentionally left it that way bc my roots were too dark and she could not possibly have covered them all then said she left it dark because my hair would get too light if she highlighted that area. Confused again. I told her I trust her judgement and that I realized she was annoyed with me – she was speaking to me in an abrasive tone at this point. She snapped and said she just needed to get it done soon to be on time with her next client. She said their salon prides themselves on being on time(yet my first appt was 20 min late). I did feel bad and offered to come back another time or not at all. She went back to mix the color. A girl brought a gown and asked what I was getting. Angela returned with the color while I was saying I just had a couple of dark areas – She angrily eyed me behind my back, not realizing I saw her reflection in the mirror. Told her I saw her facial expression. She denied it. I wanted to leave. She persuaded me to stay as she already mixed the color. I did not even pull my hair back to show Angela the roots I wanted corrected– just let her color whatever she saw fit b/c I was so sick of her attitude. Angela also made a comment how I was«nervous» from the start and said she«heard» about my experience with the first colorist. Glad to know you guys gossip about me! Just confirms how unprofessional you are. As a matter of convenience, I asked if they did up-dos. Magically, Angela’s client didn’t come in after all, She lied and said the client was already at the sink while coloring my hair. So now Angela had time for an up do– start at $ 85. WHAT? Already had my hair washed so I felt obligated. Got a blow dry instead, hoping it would be styled properly. It wasn’t. Same old brush and dry. Angela remarked«we don’t do $ 20 up-dos; it’ll look nice» persuading me to do an up-do. I typically go to Maximus and am willing to pay that much because of the quality of the salon. There is an obvious difference between Maximus and Cactus. For starters, they don’t talk behind my back and take responsibility for bad work. This ended up costing me much more than I pay normally and my hair still has dark roots so now I’ll have to get it redone and will end up paying double.
