History

Established in 2005.

Barbara Wilson Arboleda started Voicewize out of a passion for helping people to express themselves through voice. As the clinical coordinator of the Voice & Speech Laboratory at Mass Eye and Ear in Boston, Barbara helps many people regain their voice function after injury or illness. At Voicewize, she enjoys molding healthy and recently recovered voices into flexible instruments to bring her clients joy in vocalizing.

Barbara has specialized expertise in training for contemporary commercial music styles and also challenging, but knowledgeable singing training for young children.

Barbara is a licensed speech-​language pathologist (Mass.) and singing voice teacher (member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing).

Barbara graduated from the MGH Institute of Health Professions at Massachusetts General Hospital completing a specialty rotation in voice disorders at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Prior to founding Voicewize, she was employed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Voice Lab and Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital.

In addition to her clinical work, Barbara has been a singer and actor for more than 15 years. She studied voice at the New England Conservatory, through consortium with Simmons College and completed an acting program with Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts. She is a certified master teacher of the Estill Voice Training System and has a Level 3 certification in LoVetri Somatic Voicework.
