A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts

The staff is great. The store is great. im only giving it two stars bc the management seems to treat them poorly. I am an artist and i am in there 3 – 4 times a week. The cashiers are always afraid of «getting in trouble» and seem stressed out. It doesn’t seem like a good way to run a business or keep quality staff on board.
Lighten up and show the staff some appreciation

This place has EVERYTHING. It is overwhelming and the staff don’t seem to know where everything is (or care) but eventually you’ll find it. It is there. It may be pretty old and dried out but there will be comparable products on the shelf and you’ll be a little surprised they sell 14 face paint products but eventually you’ll make your purchase and go on your way.

Fantastic customer service and deals. If you sign up for their emails, you get coupons and essentially deals several times a week! If you are a teacher, you can get a 15% discount ON TOP of their sales. As a small art business owner, I am a frequent shopper here. Get their rewards card as well! You get coupons worth «cash» to spend in the stores.

This is a decent ac more store. Good color selection and supplies. They aren’t 4 or 5 stars because the service seemed disinterested in helping me out on a Saturday morning. If you’re in need of painting supplies I would still go here over Home Depot.

This store is really one of the best arts & crafts locations. I have purchased hundreds of dollars of craft supplies and other cool art stuff from here and don’t ever have any regrets. The staff are consistently amazing, such as Pam as well as the people at returns and the other cashiers and managers. Everyone.
They accept JoAnn coupons as well as Michaels coupons without a hassle (which may a problem at the Foxborough AC Moore, that just opened).
And this store is just awesome. The aisles are always clear, and yet the store may be very busy with merchandise as well as busy with lots on people in the store, they barely ever run out of anything and are always such a great place to shop.
Specifically, parking here is amazing. Consistently they have close spots to the entrance, since its behind everything else in the Dedham Mall, which is very convenient, and great.
And as I mentioned earlier, checkout cashiers are always amazing (specifically Pam, but all the rest are awesome too!), and it never takes too long. Usually 4 – 5 registers are open, which is a nice change from other places (like Walmart…).
Anyway, a great place to get arts and crafts and very comparable to Michaels and Jo-​Anns (besides the fact that AC Moore doesn’t have fabrics). Much better than the Brockton and Framingham AC Moore stores.

I agree with the pleasant employees, but for my interests (acrylic painting) I’m not impressed with the selection of paints and brushes. they are often out of stock. And I just had a painting framed there, and the job (which they send out, so I don’t really know who did it), was HORRIBLE. Torn black crumpled paper for a backing, which looks like it has a half-​life of about a month. I need to find a decent framer.

If you love jar candles, then this is your place! Yankee Candles are a major rip off. Personally I don’t think they give off any type of aroma when they are lit. Total waste of money. But not the candles at AC Moore. They have an awesome selection and even better prices. A lot of times they’ll sell 3/​$ 10. And added plus — the Ocean State Job Lot just on the other side of the shopping complex sells candle lighters for $ 1! Great to stock up on :)

Awesome selection, employees, organization! This store has everything going for them, they have everything and are much neater! Will return! Very pleased (after being turned off by the Brockton store)

I am just writing to contradict Ilasyssa C’s horrible review. I shop at this AC Moore all the time and have worked with BRANDY on multiple occasions. She is one of the kindest people I know. She would NEVER call a customer a liar. NOONE in that store would. Once I found a puzzle that was on sale, only to find out at the register that the sign was old. The cashier called BRANDY and she very KINDLY apologized for the mistake and gave me the sale price! There is no way she would be rude to anyone! Let alone call someone a liar!
I’m sorry, Ilasyssa, that you didn’t get what you wanted at that store, but that is no reason to go and spread negativity about a really great person.

First off, AC Moore is overpriced. You can literally find most of the stuff here online for more than 60% off, but it is nice to have a place nearby where you can pop in and grab everything you need. With that said, you can always find coupons to use.
WORD OF ADVICE: if you shop here, for ANYTHING on sale, make sure to snap a photo of the item and the signage: read on to find out why.
My 2 stars are for customer service. I went in with my fiancée on a Sunday to purchase some small easel like frames to display our dinner menu at our upcoming wedding reception. These are usually 2.19 and were on sale for 40% off. So we grab 10 of them, we need 10 more so we ask an employee if they do Rain checks. This employee from the framing desk was very helpful and said she would look and the back and see if they had more. They did not. She proceeded to double check the price of the item and the SKU number, and produced a raincheck for 10 more frames. We went to the cash register and paid.
When I got home I realized that the 40% off did not register. We went back that week to grab the remaining 10 frames and to get the first sale adjusted to reflect the 40% off.
When I got to the register I began to explain the situation, the cashier had an obnoxious attitude and look on her face. I explained we got charged full price when the frames were on sale, she looked me in my face and rudely said «NO, these were never on sale last week.» So I pull out my raincheck and show it to her, and I explain I was given a raincheck, and this was proof that they were on sale. A manager, BRANDY, comes over, gives us an attitude and talks about how they were not on sale, basically calls us liars for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of back and forth, and manager rudely attempting to prove we were wrong by stating the signs were not placed in front of this specific merchandise (which it was) she tells the cashier to process the adjustment, and says she is going after the girl who helped us and gave us the raincheck. When my fiancée mentioned that we were hoping to get the 10 extra frames with our raincheck entitled us to 40% off for these also, she refused! she screamed NO, no more 40%, that is all you get.
I immediately began to explain that it is not our fault that their signage was wrong, and that their employee made a mistake. I explained they had to honor the raincheck, but brandy continued to call us a liar and refused.
I got so pissed off I ended up returning the first purchase I made. I am not going to give them my money. BRANDY the manager ordered the cashier to keep the raincheck, I quickly grabbed it off the counter and put it in my pocket, and told them I would complete to corporate.
It’s not the pennies we care about, it’s the poor customer service. Calling a customer a liar to their face, that was unbelievable. They treated us like thieves and liars, when all we wanted was for them to honor their raincheck.
We returned all of our purchases for our wedding we had made there, and we will be going over to the Somerville store now, where we are treated with RESPECT. I will also be calling corporate today to complain. I don’t want compensation, just for them to know people like BRANDY are making them lose out on business.
I will ALWAYS snap a photo of whatever item is on sale next time I shop at AC Moore.

Got literally every decoration, favor, candle, you name it for my wedding here, all in one day, with coupons and discounts for about $ 200 total. I was so happy.
Then, I went to 4 other various craft stores to see if they had anything better. They didn’t so I kept and used everything.
Also, I have gotten some great jewelry-​making supplies here.
Great, great prices!

It’s quite near to my place so I used to get there 2 – 3 times a month.
I bought plenty of stuff for various creative crafts, steampunk projects, carving, beading.
Selection of beads isn’t very impressive and the prices are rather high, but the shelves are well organized and the quality is good. They regularly offer some nice discount coupons (55% on one item or 20% on the total purchase) so it worth to wait for the next one if you need more or more expensive items.
Parking is easy, it’s next to the Sears building with a huge parking lot.

As a grad student, my art budget is relatively low, but my bare walls were starting to cry for some decoration. Ok, walls, I get it. Time to make you pretty.
I had never been inside an AC Moore until today. A friend recommended I check it out after buying a large print in need of a frame, saying they have great coupons. Even before I stepped in, I found that they have AMAZING coupons. Every week! They always have the regular 40−60% off any regular priced item, plus special frame coupons. Armed with coupons, I was already willing to check it out.
So I went in and an employee named Amy helped me. She took a look at the print and helped me find the perfect frame for me, while helping me stay on budget. She laid it to me straight about what I really needed (museum glass that would keep my shiny print from reflecting too much light), and what I could pass on (mounting). She ran the prices of several frames for me and really helped me from start to finish. Then when she rang me up, she gave me three more coupons. ‘Cause I really needed more stuff from this place. Oh wait, I do. I found two cute prints, perfect for my bathroom, on the way out. And don’t I need a basket made of fabric? Not really, but it’s so cute. And bakeware, I could really use a mini-​cupcake pan, but I swear I’ll make broccoli puffs in it.
With coupons every week, something tells me I can always find something I need at AC Moore!

This is closest craft store to me, the staff always wants to help, i love the tons of sticker selection, i’ve gotten good t-​shirts and tank tops here for projects and the custom framing is great. They have everything you need, I love the ac moore rewards I get in the mail.

I worked with the Framing Department last summer on an unusual framing request (not the usual poster, photograph, etc). Each staff member in the department that I talked with was accommodating, friendly, polite, and completely committed to making sure I was satisfied and the job was done correctly. I was overwhelmed to find customer service like this in Boston!

What an incredibly mecca of arts and crafts and very reasonably priced!
I went here yesterday to find block letters to paint and decorate for the baby’s room. I found myself walking around and looking at all the amazing craft projects that could be done. Glad I found this place!
It’s like the WalMart of arts and crafts.

Before you go, print the coupon, even if you have to borrow someone’s printer/​internet connection/​whatever. A.C. Moore stocks everything you could ever imagine wanting and needing. It carries the bamboo knitting needles, and, again, with one of their regular 40% off coupons (that you can stack), you can make out like a bandit. I tend to buy knitting supplies, but I have been known to buy some cheap t-​shirts (under $ 3 each, sometimes), Crayola supplies, and random other things that jump into my basket. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and will actually work hard to answer your questions. I’m a big fan!

Holy bejesus. This craft store is HUGE. So huge, in fact, that it makes my wallet hurt. D’oh!
AC Moore has basically everything you need for craft supplies — from scrapbooking, to fine arts, framing, jewelry making, silk flowers, tons of yarn… and beyond!
Whatever you need they will most likely have it. I also love this location because they have lots of parking, too.
I go here often for my yarn (I have an Etsy shop where I crochet a lot of stuff so I’m coming here often to re-​stock all of my supplies!) and they have a great selection — they have about 3 aisles for yarn — from your basic value yarn to more expensive wool yarns. Baby yarns, cotton yarns, even section just for sock yarns! Woah!
They also tend to have a lot of sales, too, which makes me happy.
Also, if you’re planning on making a trip out here, make SURE you visit their website to get coupons you can print out — there’s usually some good ones on there — I just used one last week for 20% off my entire purchase. That’s awesome because a lot of places don’t do that.

This A.C. Moore is VAST!!! I have never seen a larger, yet tidier or organized store. Most craft stores look like a bomb went off in them. Not this AC Moore, I was impressed. Everything is neat, well organized, and largely labeled.
My faves? Huge flower department, Hello Kitty merchandise area, extensive framing department, scrapbooking materials galore, amazingly huge t-​shirt selection (Hanes tagless and Hanes ⁵⁰⁄₅₀), and runs great sales/​clearance areas.
Also, ALWAYS check online for coupons! I just went today and checked the web as I was writing this review (after the fact) and they have a 40% and 50% off coupon. Damn!!!
