David’s Custom Framing

I had absolutely no negative experience here. I brought in my six-year-old’s artwork that I adore and picked out a funky frame– it was a very simple transaction. I had a standard size frame and I was given a 30% discount that appears to be going on almost always. The reason for my rating is that upon doing a search online for this brand’s frames, I realized the cost is a fraction of what this place charges– AFTER the discount. Same exact frame, color and size is $ 28 online while I paid $ 65 at David’s Framing. Online stores will mail you the frame, which you will assemble. It is a matter of inserting some brackets, sliding in your artwork, squaring off the edges and tying the wire. Not sure what’s up with the insane mark-​up for framing as seen here and at every other craft store but between waiting two weeks or more for the frame and paying double the price (if you don’t consider the faux sale they have going on all the time) i’ll start buying my frames online and doing them myself.

It’ unfortunate when a someone positions themselves as an expert craftsman, charges $ 300 for a single job, and then it’s done poorly and 2 weeks later than expected…
I came in with a need to frame a a few items for my wife’s 30^th birthday. I explained I was leaving town on the 15^th, and David assured me it’d be done by Friday the 12^th. I called on the 13^th to confirm it was done before driving in. David said it wasn’t but he might be able to have it done «later that day or Monday/​Tuesday,» and said he’d call to let me know. I heard from him the following Monday (21^st) letting me know its done.
Long story short, missed the birthday, spent $$$, and the matting of two of the subjects wasnt parallel /​aligned.

Do not go to this store. The level of customer service is horrible. I brought my art in to have the glass be replaced in my frame. I was told it would be ready in a week. I called after 2 weeks and was told due to the holidays it takes 2 weeks. So
I said I guess it’s ready. They said no but it can be ready this afternoon. I said it’s been 2 weeks. I also added if I hadn’t called would it be ready today? Did not get a straight answer. Later that day it was ready and when I picked it up I said it is a shame you guys forgot about me. They said again because of the holidays. I guess they don’t care about there customers. I don’t want to give a company business who forgets about their customers. Horrible experience.

They do fine job with the framing, it’s everything else that is lacking. I agree with the other Unilocaler that they act like they are doing you the favor by taking your money. And the work is not cheap, even with their discounts.

I have worked with David’s Custom Framing for a couple of years now. They have an excellent selection and the staff was very helpful in assisting me in choices. I found the prices to be very competitive and the store to be neat and clean. As a collector of art, I need someone that can handle my projects with care and confidence. I would strongly recommend David’s to anyone.

Extremely satisfied. I have been bringing my artwork to David’s Custom Framing since the shop opened its doors and I would not consider going anywhere else. The staff is always courteous, friendly and very helpful. The frame selection is extensive and the workmanship is first rate. I recommend David’s Custom Framing for a quality product at a very fair and reasonable price.

Very disappointed. Original quote was 30% discount, once I placed my order it was 25% discount. When I picked up my large picture the gentleman didn’t even offer to bring it to my car. Over priced. Won’t be back to offer my business. VERY poor customer service. They acted as if they were doing me a favor.
