Zeigler Homestead Services was founded to help people get closer to their food by giving them assistance, guidance, and services to grow your own food at their own home, business, or community space. We are a complete service company and offer consultations, design, installation, and maintenance.

Meet the Business Owner

Joey Z.

Business Owner

From dirt to the dinner table, Joey Zeigler is passionate about locally grown food and sustainable living. Having spent the last decade honing his urban homesteading skills, he now tends a flock of heirloom chickens and a 2,500 square-​foot home garden. In 2012, he participated in the Urban Coop Tour of Atlanta and his backyard garden was represented on the 2013 Decatur Garden Tour, where the year’s theme was edible gardens. Additionally Joey was a feature presenter at the 2013 Chicks in the City Symposium. He is currently a member of the Wylde Center and the Georgia Native Plant Society, and has recently received a certification in permaculture design. In 2012, he founded Zeigler Homestead Services a company that helps people engage nature through creative homesteading solutions. His specialties include organic gardening, custom chicken coops, edible landscapes and food forests, passive and active rain water catchment systems, and much more.



Joey lives in Decatur, where he loves to
