History

Established in 2010.

We are a locally owned souther cusine restaurant that sources some of our ingredients we cook with are sourced from local and regional farms, dairies and ranches guided by principles of sustainability when possible. Everything we make (vegetables, sides, sauces, accompaniments, dressings, soups, fries, etc.) is made From Scratch It takes longer to prepare and costs us a lot more to our bottom line, but at the end of the day we fell better knowing that we’re serving the community great food while supporting «the little guy.»

We also have local beers on tap, an extensive wine list and craft cocktails.

One of our favorite local eateries. The food is local, seasonal, fresh and made to order. As a family with food intolerances, we’re always pleased to find restaurants who are accommodating and informed. There’s also a lovely park just outside the patio where kids and families can play and explore — bonus!

We are regulars here. Food is outstanding. I can’t believe this place doesn’t have 5 stars from every review. Their classic sprig burger is one of the best burgers around. And they have lots of gluten free options for people who are sensitive. Great place, don’t miss out!

The place is really cute. The one waitress we had was terrible at best. She NEVER came back to give us water or ask if anything was ok. I got the Pork tenderloin, wow the best, was sooo good. But my daughter got the fish, I don’t know what kind of fish but looked like a tv dinner, and Captain D’s fish is better. I would go back but had to pay for bread, what nice restaurants always have bread free.

Went with a small group for lunch. I ordered the cheese grits fries and they were great. I also ordered the seafood miso as an appetizer. The seafood was fried perfectly and seasoned well. I also had the shrimp and grits. It was seasoned perfectly and the sausage was a great addition. I will definitely be back.

Food is very good but I would like to see more variety/​seasonal menu. I have tried the Cloud9 Pasta, Lamb stroganoff, and Pork Osso Buco. All yummy. Love the salads and polenta fries! Creative cocktails are good and strong! Service has been so spotty all three times we’ve eaten here, so I took away a star.

What a wonderful experience. My friend and I strolled in Saturday for brunch and mimosas. Wendy was awesome, attentive and offered great recommendations… the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. We got to know one of the regulars and his amazing cowboy boots check in and get you a free prosecco ! Can’t beat it, we had a great time !

Nice ambiance. The menu has a lot of yummu choices: small plates, regular entrees, and salads. The salmon is fresh and light! It comes with a yummy fennel salad! The tiramisù is delicious! And so is the blueberry cobbler!

Bottomless mimosas!!! The service was great; Wendy is amazing! The atmosphere is great. They play the best music! The pimento cheese small plate with the bacon jam is a must!!! The Belgium waffle was also great. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

An amazing Saturday Brunch find! The bottomless mimosas are delicious (thank you Wendy!). The Pimento Cheese appetizer with house made crackers were so good. Can’t wait to come back and try some of that bourbon! Heather picks the best music, who can’t enjoy Motown and mimosas?

My wife & I went there for dinner on 02/​05/​2016. HUGE gluten free selection. We started with the grit fries, which were outstanding. I could’ve eaten nothing but the dipping sauce.
My wife had the burger with potato salad. The salad was good, but the burger was delicious.
I had the roast chicken with bacon bread pudding. the bread pudding was fantastic, but the chicken was very dry. Took a glass & a half of water to put down.
But the service… they were all very pleasant, but dinner took forever. Bottom line is I’ll be back, but only when I have an evening to spend.

We had dinner at the bar. Wendy was our bar tender and server. She was so much fun and super engaging. We ordered the grit fries to snack on and they were some of the most amazing things we ever had! The spicy gravy was out of this world! The manager came and chatted with us and recommended wine pairings. We shared the lamb stroganoff which was rich and warm.
We have been back for drinks and other appetizers. This is on our list for easy meals, great prices, and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s a must eat place in the neighborhood.

Very very good food! I had the shrimp and grits for lunch. My only complaint is that I didn’t have money to order a second plate! Wendy is (as always) one of the best servers in the city! She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed! I will be back very very soon!

With so many restaurants around the Atlanta area, customer service and customer appreciation are important.
I showed up at Sprig’s at exactly 2:29 only to be told the kitchen was closed and lunch hours ended at 2:30.
Really? Maybe I’m a little crazy but I’m not in business… to turn away business. The guy turning us down was very cold too. Nice place, a little pricey but attitude is everything when I have choices on where I’m considering spending my hard-​earned money.
I probably won’t be back.
Ended up at Top Spice in Toco Hills (5 minutes away) and had a great meal.

Now I get it.
I’ve dined at Sprig a couple/​few times. I’ve heard mostly negative things since it opened. But I’ve enjoyed dinner there, I like to support locally owned places, and the farm to table menu suits my tastes.
However… We stopped there on a recent Friday after dinner elsewhere. 3 couples to sit at the pretty bar for a nightcap and dessert. 2 bartenders, and maybe 3 other people at 9pm on a Friday. Maybe a couple of lingering tables.
Within about 10 minutes it occurred to me why the place has no pulse:
Terrible bar staff. 2 of them. One worse than the other. When SHE bothered to give us any attention, it was all about her. This and that, and how she’d been there through thick and thin and bad times and whatever. How about some service? How about some basic concept of guest/​server protocols? Fail…
That neighborhood deserves better and can sustain more.
Really, upgrade your bar staff and maybe the next few years will be better than the last few.

For my Saturday’s, this is a great spot. It’s central to my Gwinnett location and I keep coming back for several excellent reasons… the Sprig Breakfast, the $ 12 Bottomless Mimosas and the repetitive excellent customer service…
The manager, Bryan is ALWAYS on deck to check on us… we are treated so well EVERY time we visit… the mimosas are great:) Take this from a mimosa SPECIALIST! I never feel «crowded» in this space… the ambiance is quaint and nicely decorated. It’s relatively quiet here… if you are in the area, you should give this spot a shot… my BFF Alicia always gets the omelet w pimento cheese and spinach and she loves it. Every plate is cleared upon departure…

One more off the ‘to try’ list, and I’ll be back to this one.
Sprig does everything right.
— It’s a nice, quiet, larger-​than-​it-​seems-​from-​the-​outside place. We were seated at a four-​top in the middle and that was totally fine.
— Menu is not large but contains something for everyone, it seems.
— Service is spot on. When asked ‘have you been to Sprig before’, I kind of dreaded what might come next, but no. Just a short mention of the restaurant’s philosophy (farm to table, local sourcing) before describing what was available that day. Server was professional and properly attentive throughout.
— Food is wonderful. Cloud Nine pasta exceptional. I also had a sample of the trout — also very good. Perfectly prepared. Side of sauteed spinach and key lime dessert rounded out a great meal.
— They have a large wine, cocktail and beer selection. Draft beer is ‘ask your server what’s on tap’. Bell’s Two Hearted was right for me.
— Not too expensive.
— Parking! Yay!
— Afterwards, you can take a stroll in Frazier Rowe park, located just to the left as you walk out the door. Nice groomed trails with labeled native planting.

I loved being at Sprig! The service was great, the food was EXCELLENT and the ambiance is really neat, with a «je né sais quoi» that makes you feel like you’re being hosted and treated diner by friends.
Very smart too the idea of the suggested wine with each of the specials !

I’m glad I finally got to take a meal here. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was late on a Saturday, but that did not stop Sprig from taking really good care of a big table-​full of us. I enjoyed the experience.
Our server handily took care of business. Mixed drinks and wine arrived quickly. Food was also not long in the kitchen, hitting the table while everything was still hot and fresh. The fried pickles are a hit! (And the fried green tomatoes, too.) Next time, I will delve hard into the Pimiento Cheese.
I had a burger. (I wasn’t that enamored of the burger. It was overdone and salty.) I know, I know. I should have listened to my instincts and tried the lamb stroganoff. (Even though my friend did not like it.) Or maybe the veggie plate. And the flourless cake-​thing we shared for dessert deserved its own quick moment of silence.
Sprig has a good, homemade feel to it. It’s just a little more dressed-​up than casual. And I will happily look forward to my next meal there. Holler if you’re coming with.

I had heard such wonderful things about this place and I couldn’t wait to go. So when I had a friend visit from out of town I did a secret happy dance when she chose this place out of the options that I gave her. Overall verdict, it was quite good.
We ordered the broccoli cheese soup and fried green tomatoes as a starter. The fried green tomatoes get a thumbs down. The soup got a … meh. The tomatoes lacked basic seasoning, i.e. salt/​pepper, and they didn’t cook them long enough for my taste. It was more like slightly warmed slices of raw tomatoes than a fried green tomato. I’m not sure what to think of the soup. I’m used to broccoli cheese soup being. well. cheesy. This was more of a savory broccoli soup without much in the form of cheese. My guest and I were sort of worried at this point.
Then came the main courses. I ordered the pork chop with maple bread pudding, she ordered the veggie plate. The pork chop was delicious. My only complaint is that they should probably rename the maple bread pudding because this was more of a savory bread dressing and not sweet at all. Which I prefer. It was moist and delicious. I do wish they would have given me a bit more of the au jus from the pork to use with the dressing. My friend got the veggie plate. I was jealous. It was huge, all the veggies were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Too many restaurants treat veggies as throw away meal requirements… think broccoli, but these were definitely the star. She RAVED about the brussel sprouts.
We viewed the dessert menu and they had some very appealing choices, but quite honestly we were stuffed. I would not go to this place hungry, I’ll definitely skip the appetizers next time and go straight for those delicious entrees. I’ll be back.
