Just be forewarned, they don’t let minors test drive cars. Said it was «State Law» (hint: it’s not), but Mel Rapton Honda Dealership in Sacramento let me test drive a car, and so that is where we bought one!

We just experienced the easiest stress free car purchase EVER!!! I called University Honda at 6:00 p.m. spoke with Justin told him what kind of car and color that my daughter was looking for. I explained what we were looking to do as far as purchase vs leasing. He was great addressing my concerns. I told him we would be down in a half hour to look a Civic. We pulled up to the dealership and there were 2 Civics that he had ready for my daughter to look at (yes I was very impressed by that). Within a few minutes he went over several features on the Civic next my daughter was taking it for a test drive. Yes she fell in love with the car. We went inside to complete an application and less 20 minutes we had a deal. The whole experience was wonderful. I would give 1000 stars if I could.

Great service every time I come in for help. Once I came in to get a new key made, and today I’m getting my airbags and headlight wiring replaced (all recall issues). The entire staff has always been extremely helpful and go above their job description to make you feel comfortable that your car is in the right hands. I definitely recommend their services to anyone who is looking for help on their Honda!

My current experience to purchase a car was excellent. Steven Jeet was my sales person and the whole experience went extremely well. I’ve been going to University Honda for service on my car. After having an amazing experience with University Honda I had to leave an amazing review!!! After 3 months of researching cars, test driving various models and trying to literally detach myself from my 2002 Honda Accord that now was up to 282,000 miles and still truckin, and after numerous conversations with the sales team it was time. Not only did they match a sales price of another Honda dealership, they gave me advice and kept in touch even if I didn’t buy a car with them. They made me feel like part of their Honda family… Thank you to Clete, Fred, George, Greg and Paula Brown. I will never go anywhere else to purchase a new or used car again and I will refer anyone and everyone to them! Trust and loyalty is hard to find these days! #rarebreed

I walked in today for the airbag recall appointment (apparently, an appt is required for this). A very nice gentleman by the service desk named Mandeep helped me. He patiently answered each of my questions regarding the recall process and the car rental.
While Mandeep was processing my paperworks, this guy sitting by the other service counter jumped into our conversation. He started telling me this recall is completely voluntary that I don’t have to take it into the shop; the car rental is paid by Honda, so I should be appreciative and stop asking all those questions.
Other than the rude guy, the experience went very well. University Honda really knows how to treat their customers right. Mandeep was extremely polite, professional, helpful, and patient throughout the visit.

Went in to buy a car today. We did end up buying a car, but the experience was not one we’d recommend, specifically because of the sales manager George Huang. He was called in as «reinforcement» by our sales rep after we made an offer. George walked over, sat down, and spoke to us in an angry, combative, and condescending tone. He told us that he was taking a loss by selling the vehicle to us at his quoted price, and that we can take our «stupid offer» to other dealerships and find that they can’t give us that price.
Yes, he said it was a «stupid offer.»
We almost picked up and left on the spot, but the only redeeming thing about our experience was our sales rep, Steven jeet, who’s a nice guy who’s friendly, not pushy, and who patiently helped us over multiple days.
So, long story short, if George Huang is representative of how University Honda treats its customers, stay away.

Aiyahh so sad to leave a poor review — but for future buyers who are parting with a significant load of cash, at least a heads up is warranted.
My husband and I did all our research, came in with a reasonable ceiling for our offers, and most of all, excited at the prospect of leaving with a new car for our baby on the way.
We test drove a couple cars, set our eyes and hearts (albeit gingerly) on one, and proceeded with the inevitable negotiation process. We had prepared ourselves for counteroffer battles beforehand and even settled to walk away if they couldn’t meet our offer but we were fairly confident that we weren’t asking for the moon — just a good deal.
Enter George Wong. After 2 counter offers through the sales representative we’d been working with, sales manager George Wong stepped in with the ultimate smack down. «You can take your STUPID offer to any other dealership and no one will give you a better price» he said.
Wut.
George was rude. On all fronts. No part of our communication with him left us wanting to buy a car. After he left, we sat stunned at how lame their customer service was!
Although we 100% no longer felt any desire to support such an establishment, we felt grateful for the service provided to us by our sales representative Steven Jeet. On Easter Sunday at that. If it were not for boss man, this would have been a most favorable car transaction. But because of him, we pressed on and eventually drove home with an amazing ride.
Future buyers need to be warned. Among the sales managers on Uni Honda’s lot, one of them is absolutely terrible. We love our new car no doubt, but the experience was subpar.

Although Davis is a bit of a drive for me, and there are multiple Honda dealerships within a closer proximity, I will gladly drive out of my to purchase a car from University Honda. It may be smaller than most dealerships, but their level of customer service is absolutely unsurpassed!
My wife and I were essentially looking for a needle in a haystack, but they were able to get us exactly what we wanted. Granted, we waited months for it to become available, but that wasn’t their fault. We told them what we wanted and as soon as there was word of one being manufactured, our sales rep John did everything in his power to make sure it was ours. He kept in touch with us for the entire process, answered the ten thousand questions we had for him without hesitation, and sent us pictures the moment our car arrived. The most amazing thing about this experience, however, was that even though he put a considerable amount of work into locating and obtaining this car, there was absolutely no pressure to buy it.
The rest of the car buying experience was equally as pleasant. The finance department worked diligently to find us an even lower rate than we had originally agreed to and the finance manager, Paula, was so personable.
If you’re big on customer service like I am, you need to purchase your next car from University Honda. The atmosphere is delightful and the staff will absolutely blow you away.

Review of SERVICE DEPARTMENT only:
Went here to get work done for the air bag recall — ended up getting an oil change as well. From start to finish (calling to get the part ordered, calling to get an appointment when it came in, waiting for my car to be finished) this place was top notch.
Staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. Great waiting area to relax while you wait. Even have a computer available if you’d like to access the internet. Clean and well kept lobby and showroom.
They saw the new boxed wiper blades on the backseat and offered to install them — at no charge, just as a courtesy — (even though they weren’t Honda brand)… reminded me they couldn’t guarantee anything because they weren’t Honda. But, heck, they offered and I accepted. Above and beyond customer service.
Would definitely come back here for future service needs, and can highly recommend this place based on my experience.

My wife and I recently financed a vehicle at this dealership and we’re surprised at how good our experience was, especially with our salesman Fred.
As new car buyers, first time auto financing, Fred worked with us to get us the best deal on our new car and we really can’t thank him enough! Even after the deal was done he followed up with us to check on the car and offered to meet with me again to review features on the car if I had any questions.
Stereotypes aside, this car salesmen is a good guy! Fred will no doubt take care of you and your family as well ;)

Kyle and the dealership were awesome! I haven’t driven manual cars since my early college life, practicing with my dad in a parking lot a couple years ago. So yeah, I was apprehensive at first to test drive their only Honda Fit Ex, which was a stick shift. However, I really liked the car design, so Kyle offered to test drive it. Later in the test drive, Kyle gave me and my sister a mini lesson on driving the stick shift, and we both drove around. By the end of the test drive I felt confident enough that I could drive a stick shift as my car, so my sis and I got the Fit! I never imagined getting a manual car for myself to drive, but thanks to my sis and Kyle, I am cruising the streets of Davis like a (intermediate) pro!
The whole process and service were smooth and great too! Kyle was very knowledgeable about the different cars’ features, security, and even explained leasing vs buying a car with helpful, hand-​drawn visual aids. When we met with the financial lady Paula, she was just as informative, knowledgeable, and friendly as we signed our documents with her.
Even if you aren’t sure what to expect or are new to the car buying experience, I highly recommend these guys for finding a car!

I appreciated that instead of them telling me there was something wrong with my car, they took me out back to show me what was actually wrong. Granted, it could have been the severity of the damage and putting it into words wouldn’t do it justice.
As far as the facility itself, the waiting area isn’t as big as the other places I’ve been, but it’s all good. The price of an oil change is in line with the other dealers in the Sacramento area. Maybe it was the day I came, but there isn’t as long as of a line as the other dealerships for oil changes.

Recently I was referred to this dealership by a very close friend, who told me this place was amazing! We both shared the same vehicle situation where we were upside down and they were able to make it work.
I called the dealership and spoke to Kyle (who I was referred to) he took all of my information over the phone which was great! He told me he would call me back, unfortunately I never heard back from him. So I called the dealership and spoke to George the «apparent» manager who said he was going to look everything over and he would call me back. Within less than 10 minutes George called me and gave me the only scenario he said he could do and I agreed. Later that evening Kyle called me and ask which vehicle, he explained he would have it located. I agreed to to bring the vehicle the next afternoon.
The next day I received a call from Greg the GM who proceeds to tell me that even if everything was perfect we now have no deal. I was completely floored, what do you mean we have no deal no? He said that was just talk to get you in, nothing is set in stone!
Wow really? I am sure I won’t being buying anything from you!
