I’m honestly surprised. The service was friendly and fast. The Double Jack burger was warm and delicious with a perfect amount of condiments. Everything tasted great, cooked and cleaned right, and overall good experience. Granted, there was no one else there when I went so they weren’t busy, but it’s nice knowing the food tasted good and even presented itself pretty well.

Did not have a great experience tonight. I understand it is almost midnight and the employees are tired, but they could at least try to smile and not be grumpy when talking to you. But the thing that pissed me off the most was the fact that the eggs in my breakfast burrito were BROWN and tasted like they were expired about a month ago.

Usually come here and everything is fine. 1) Used a coupon for free 99 cent tacos, but never got the discount. I ordered 4 tacos, but only got 2. Okay, I’ve worked in service and the easiest thing to do is for me to give you 1 cent and you give me a dollar back. Unfortunately, they didn’t want to do that and gave me 4 more tacos instead. 4+2 does not equal 99 cents.

I just came from there. I pulled up to the menu board and the lady rattled on with a «would you like to try a blah blah blah?» so i responded with a just one second and instantly she replied«ok go ahead and order» … … I was already running thin on patience cause i couldn’t find my wallet on the way out of the house earlier. so i began to order«Ok Im ready». «go ahead and order» «I’ll have a kids chicken strip combo»… «Ok so that’s 2 number twelves?»(that was FKINGIT!) «NEVERMINDYOU’RETOOSTUPIDTODEALWITHTODAY!» and i backed out of the drive thru. this isnt the first time this has happened here. it seems that all the employees here have an IQ that hovers somewhere around mental retard.

Oh. Jack in the box. Without you, how could I have survived Christmas in Davis? Open 24hr, even on Christmas Eve/Day and New Year!!! BEST late night food EVER! Curly fries is the best. Don’t eat too much though or you will get bad breath.

I came here once after a night out with my friends30−40 minutes before the close. Pulled up the the drive-thru just before the mic and 2 employees yelled at me «WE’RECLOSED.» In addition, they were standing in the middle of the drive-thru and DIDNOTMOVE. So I had to back up in order to leave. Place is ALWAYS packed with drunk college kids being stupid. And even during calmer times employees are rude as hell.

I grew up going to the jack in the box in redwood city, their tacos were meaty and cheesy, their sourdough jack was evenly portioned of mayo and ketchup, and curly fries came out hot and fresh! My family and I would eat there on Sundays after church sometimes, and once I started going to high school parties, it was my spot to go to for an after party. When I moved to southern California, same experience but different location was the only change, not the quality. Food was always fresh; I loved it so much I was a little overweight during my college days in La. I moved to Davis two years ago and since becoming a mom, have become more health conscious cutting back on the fast food these days; but driving by jack in the box after picking my son up from school, something made me wanna re-visit those old glory days and indulge in my sourdough jack and two tacos. We ordered, people weren’t rude, just doing their jobs. The company was a little uncomfortable and the bathroom smelled like smoke. We got our food and there was so much ketchup on the burger you could eat a whole order of fries with it. The tacos were chewy, not crunchy like they should be. And the fries tasted like they were re-heated and not fresh. Overall experience was not great; but here’s the real problem: my stomach started cramping hours after we left. I had stomach pains for three days and my son was really whiny. Then he’s crying and has watery diarrhea for two days. We’ve had these symptoms before in Mexico, you feel like crap. Our doctor determined at the time it was e coli from improper food handling in my travels. These symptoms were exactly the same. Looking back on my experience here, something tells me this place needs new management teaching the staff about safe and proper food handling. On the upside, I’m never eating jack in the box again! At least home made meals don’t get me sick!

Sometimes at midnight and you’re craving something, there aren’t many options in Davis since things close by then. Jack-in-the-Box drive thru is open until 2am most nights and the weekends, it’s opened 24 hours. So I had a coupon for a Sourdough cheesesteak(Buy one get one free). So I pull up to the drive thru window and some guy asked me what I want. I tell him about the coupon. I also had another coupon for 2 free tacos. Then he tells me only one coupon per car and I was just shocked. For some reason, I thought I could stack coupons but I guess not. So I was a little disappointed. He let me go this one time though just because I didn’t know. I guess I had no idea you couldn’t use more than one coupon… I guess I don’t use coupons enough to notice? Anyway, I pull up to the window and I pay and give them my coupons. For a fast food joint, this place is not fast. I was the only person in line and waiting. I expected my food to be ready in 1 – 3 minutes but I sat there really bored and awkwardly in my car. They need to be faster, cmon — chop chop! At least, the guy was nice to me when he handed me my food and asked if I wanted hot sauce. I am not a big fan of Jack-In-The-Box and I think the only thing worth getting here are the tacos. They are 2 for $ 1. They aren’t amazing though but they’re greasy, filled with meat and some cheese. They are not healthy either. Someone told me it’s not real meat in there but I don’t know. Either way, it’s good and cheap. Get the tacos!!!

Being a college student in Davis definitely has its ups and downs, one major down being that everything closes extremely early. It’s times like these that makes one love Jack in the Box for being open 24 – 7, fulfilling all munchies cravings. Some friends and myself found ourselves in this drunchies predicament around 2AM, so of course the solution was Jack in the Box. I must say that this was probably the most exciting fast food trip of my life, but maybe we’re just fun people(hah). So we roll up and see a mass of college kids inside so we obviously go to the Drive Thru(not that we would want to get out of car anyways). We order our food and drive up to the window, and the fun begins! Our server hands us our drinks and then proceeds to hand us our straws, in the process dropping one straw and yelling out loudly«Shieeeet!», just. like. that. We all stare wide eyed, and she apologizes saying«It’s hell-uh busy.» When she walks away we burst out laughing. So we’re sitting there waiting to pay, and she hands us our bag of food and walks away. She comes back and asks if there’s anything else we need, and we say no. She says thank you, so we drive away. We didn’t pay. Win. But drunk me was a little paranoid so I told my friends to turn around and go back and pay. I’ll just say that THAT is my good deed for the year! We get back to our house and pull everything out of our bag, only to be disappointed that there is no. taco. sauce. We rummage our cabinets and find no redeeming substitute. My two friends were pretty pissed, but they just found some sauce and dumped it on their tacos. And that is the end of my story. +1 star for the laughs I got that night

Elsy(I believe that is your name, since I had to take a look at the receipt to find your name), you are extremely rude and provide terrible service. I came here after visiting some bars in downtown Davis to order some jalapeño poppers. I was not drunk. When my order came out, I came to the counter, with my receipt in hand, to pick it up. You gave me a weird look and asked me what the order was, almost as if I was trying to take someone else’s order. I watched you as the next customer came up to pick up his order, and you did not do this. Next, I went back up to the counter to ask for some ranch. My friend asked first, and you quickly turned around to grab it, not leaving time for me to ask for anything. You came back and I asked for some more, and I get a nasty reply, «you should have asked me before,» and reluctantly went to grab one. Ok, now for strike three. My other friend had ordered a shake and felt that her straw was too short, so she went up to ask if there was a larger straw. I don’t know in what tone you said, «no, that’s the only one,» but when my friend came back she immediately said you were rude. If you were having a bad day, don’t take it out on your customers. It just gives the whole place a bad impression. As for the food, tacos are greasy as always and jalapeño poppers were crispy and acceptable. Friends have told me to avoid the nuggets. The good thing about this place is that it is open very late and is located right next to all the bars! You’ll always find drunk people here and it’ll be packed on crowded nights.

A while back my boyfriend got food from here right before closing one night. His burger was cold and he found a HAIRBALL in his taco. We will never get food here again.

Have again: all I ever have anymore is the Breakfast Jack with mustard. For $ 1.29 it is satisfying, just enough food, meets with Weight Watchers recommendations for lower fat and calories, and just delicious.

They forgot to put the patty in four of my burgers. You can imagine my disappointment biting into two empty buns at 1am. Unacceptable for a fast food joint. Drunk college students, beware!

80% of the time, this Jack-in-the-Box lets me down. Here are some notoriously memorable instances. First Offense: Had serious drunchies at 4am, went through the drive-thru. Attendant said: «Sorry, we’re closed.» Uh, no you didn’t! Fool, you’re standing right there, telling me that you’re not open for business? I understand that it’s very early morning, but Jack-in-the-Box is supposed to have a 24-hour drive-thru! This is blasphemous! Second Offense: We walked over from the bars at 1:45am. They have signs all over their entrances stating: «Sorry, we’re closed. We are cleaning our equipment.» WOAH, WOAH, WOAH. What is up with cleaning equipment at prime-time bar-goers-congregating-to-Jack-in-the-Crack hour?! Third Offense: We came back from the bars(do you sense a pattern?) I ordered a chicken sandwich and small curly fries. Cashier short changes me by $ 2. Okay, I might be one of those speshul Asians who can’t do math, but I know when my change doesn’t add up! When I told her about the short-changing, she insisted, in the rudest tone, that«Ugh, here is your change.» Uh, what? You don’t apologize for an error of which you were clearly cognizant? Taking advantage of drunk college kids is a no-no! Albeit, I don’t frequent Jack’s often, but as the only 24-hour drive-thru open for a good ten mile-radius in a college-town, I’ve had to come here more than I’d like.

OMG. I don’t think I’ve ever been inside this Jack In the Box until yesterday. When I was a UCD student(many many years ago) I’ve only gone through the drivethru… Long story short, my sister graduated from UCD yesterday, so we met her early in the morning in South Davis to pick up the grad tickets. We had about 40 minutes to kill before heading to the ARC. 40 minutes isn’t enough time to go to IHOP or the like, so I tried thinking of fast food places. Unfortunately, Wendy’s doesn’t serve breakfast, and the only place I can think of is Jack in the Box. Let’s just say, I didn’t realize how ghetto this place is and I have high tolerance for ghetto places! When we walked in, there was quite a stench, not sure what it was, but it wasn’t nice. The customers weren’t exactly… uuurgh…the type you’d want to dine next to, for lack of a better word. I made sure my purse was close to my body. Let’s just say, I probably would’ve walked out if my husband wasn’t with my mom and I. That was probably the fastest fast food breakfast we’ve ever eaten. We just wanted to get the hell out of there. I didn’t finish my coffee, which wasn’t very good anyways. My half breakfast sandwich was so greasy, I kept complaining how greasy my chin felt all day even hours after I washed it off. I felt so bad suggesting this particular Jack n Box. Should’ve just drove down to Mace to McDonald’s even if it was out of the way. Should’ve just gone to Starbucks. My bad!!! Yeah, stick to drive thru late at night when you don’t know any better. I guess it was a good thing we were at the ARC an hour early!

I can’t believe this Jack in the box got such poor reviews! This is my go-to place for late night snacking. especially during finals =P 6 tacos for $ 2.95.who can beat that? Come on now. I am appalled and shocked at the negative reviews. Every time I’ve come here thru drive-thru, it’s fast, friendly, and they always give me extra sauces at no problem. Very convenient =)

I give this place 4 stars because it’s the best place to go to after a bar or club. Since the bars in downtown Davis are close by, it’s an easy walk here. The inside is open until 3AM, perfect timing to sit and eat starchy food without having to use a drive-through. The service is alright. There’s some nice workers and there’s some non-attentive, mean-looking workers. There might be some obnoxious college kids at night though, which is fun most times. 2-tacos! Breakfast jack! Sourdough jack!

I’ll only come here when I am piss drunk because i won’t notice how dirty the eating area is, how loud and rowdy all the other drunk people are, and how they will mess up my order. the drive thru is also the slowest thing in the world. avoid at all costs unless there are no other options
