We invite you to come and explore our racks. Consider, there’s usually only one of each item; therefore, consignment shopping can take a little more time, but it’s worth the hunt. We provide a comfortable, ease of shopping environment for you to have fun exploring. Remember, «Some women spend a fortune on their clothes, others just look that way!»

History

Established in 1986.

SOSN has provided a place for our clients to recoup some of their investment in fine quality clothing while giving some of our customers an opportunity to purchase items they may otherwise not have had an opportunity to own. It’s been a joy to see someone purchase their first LV, Chanel or a Kate Spade or St. John. We’ve also been a place where customers can purchase at affordable prices great quality items for everyday wear; items you may need or just want. We take pride in having been in downtown Danville for almost thirty years and with gratitude and appreciation, we continue to be there and of service to you.

Business Owner

Saundra, a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a history in corporate human resources decided years ago that she wanted to follow a dream. She left the corporate life in 1986 and opened Something Old — Something New. Her dream became a goal, directed by a plan and supported by faith. She has never regretted that decision.

Sondra is the epitome of grace and class! The most knowledgeable woman I have met in over two decades when it comes to fine clothing. She appreciates clothing as an art and style. It is like stepping back to a time when the customer was important. When people knew high end fabrics and fashion. She is the closest thing to I. Magnin I have found.
An amazing store for the elite shopping crowd and those who understand fashion.

This is the finest Women’s consignment store in the Bay Area, period. If anyone has problem here with the Owner or staff, I would be suspect of that person, as Sandra is one of the finest and most honorable people I have ever met, and I’ve know her for over 10 years. Helpful Staff. Found a beautiful brown Burberry peacoat there in addition to a pair of Michael Kors pants.
Went with a friend on a Danville Consignment Store event day in November.
Extra $ 5 off was given to my friend who spent $ 20 there (vs. $ 25 — to get the $ 5 off for the special the consigment stores were all offering that day). Another un-​named store did not offer my friend the $ 5 off when she spent $ 24.99.
Will definitely do business here again.

just recently I made an appointment to pick up my unsold clothes and jewelry, but I called to tell them I needed to make a new appointment and they assured me that they would hold onto my things. Although I called to make a new appointment aand they told me they did not have anything of mine. The owner was a complete BITCH! And did nothing to make the situation better. Do not go here. Very unprofessional.

First the good: good selection of St. John knits in a variety of sizes, with just OK prices.
The bad, where to begin: as soon as you walk in you are hit by the strong odor of perfume (and not in a good way), the owner can be very snotty especially when her friends are in, most of the clothes look more like they belong in Goodwill (except for the pricey ones.) I consigned here once and although my dress sold immediately, I had to wait three months for the check. The first and second excuses were that they only send out checks once per month and somehow I missed the cut-​off both times, a month later I walked into the store and then the excuse was that the computer was down. I came back a week later and the excuse was they had run out of checks, so I stood my ground and started to loudly complain, which is when they miraculously went into the back and found a check.

I rarely go to Something Old-​Something New without finding at least one item I have to have. It can be dangerous. This is my go-​to destination when I need a nice dress for an event because they almost always have the perfect thing. Their selection is excellent and well-​organized, and the prices are very reasonable for the designer labels that they carry (and more often than not, at least one item I’m buying turns out to be on sale. Score!). The owner is very personable and friendly, even when my noisy, energetic, grabby toddler is at his most difficult (and I’m not feeling very personable or friendly myself). This is a great store and I hope they’re around for years to come, because otherwise I don’t know where I’d get gorgeous designer dresses without breaking the bank (or robbing one).

My mom and I both discovered this is a cute little consignment store this morning and both of us came away with a few treasures.
They have a great selection of clothing in all different sizes and from many different designers that you would recognize. Some of the clothing is fairly pricey, like the Escada and Saint John, but it is still significantly cheaper than you’d pay in a retail store for the same thing. Other clothing items were relatively cheap. I picked up a beautiful skirt for $ 16 and another one for $ 20 and felt like I’d made a bargain both times. I also picked up a beautiful two piece top for about $ 20 that would have cost me much more in a store. Their jewelry seemed fairly inexpensive, but I didn’t pick up any on this visit.
Their clothing was all impeccable, not a stain, rip, stretch mark, or wrinkle anywhere in sight. This is high quality stuff and beautiful, too.
The two ladies working there were very friendly and both mom and I enjoyed chatting with them!

After hunting through a few other consignment shops in the area, I began to feel discouraged. But alas — this store! I stumbled in here thinking I’d just find a bunch more granny-​style boring out of fashion and overpriced crap like in the other shops I checked out nearby. But I was so wrong! I found a large selection of clothes to try on that suited my 21-​year-​old self. There was a great deal with the pricing going on where it seems like 2⁄3 of the store is always discounted, and I found a cute black mini for only $ 10. While checking out, though, the proprietor was fiddling with a BEAUTIFUL white beaded dress with a silk skirt, and she let me run back to the fitting room to try it on before even putting a price tag on it. I ended up getting this vintage masterpiece as well as the skirt for a very reasonable price. I am so happy with my purchases and if I’m ever in the area again I’ll absolutely come back!

OK, now that I have something to compare it to, I will write a review. This is my favorite consignment store, hands down! It has my kind of clothing and my kind of prices. EVERYTIME I’m there I purchase something. I have given St. John suits to my sisters as gifts and recently I bought a designer suit with the tags still attached! During the winter months there are plenty of furs to choose from. I’ve been to other consignment shops but for selection, ease of shopping and friendly sales consultants you can’t beat this one!

Meh. Selection isn’t special. Overpriced. Owner is a bit of a snob wannabe. Yes wannabe. Sounds like The review from J.R. is a friend… kinda like putting your own dollar in your own tip jar to «start things off»! Notice all the 5-​stars are a little suspicious as to longevity. Like owner’s friends or family got a Unilocal account just to up the ratings. OBVIOUS. I will never go here again. I hate her singing to all the music too. Shut the Xxxx up!

This used to be the only consignment place in town. IT’S NOT ANYMORE! The selection is OK (the other places are nicer). A store can be neat, somewhat organized, have great deals but if the proprietor acts as if she’s doing you a favor– she’s wrong. She is no longer pleasant. There are too many other shops in town now & I highly suggest you go there. Then maybe she will get the picture we are ‘doing her a favor’. Sorry Something Old-​Something New: there are New kids in town.

My consignment habit began here! I love finding little treasures and knowing I paid a great price. I found a beautiful dress for my husbands dinner party from a designer store I would never pay the full price for. It was exactly what I needed and I still love the dress. Again, I have to say, the owner is a great woman and I find this to be just as important as my shopping experience. Make a day of it. It’s in a nice location next to several great restaurants and cafes and right on the Iron Horse Trail.

The prices are also beautiful. The whole experience is pleasant. Again, the name brands are amazing. The sales and great too. You need to go all the time because there is new stuff every minute…

After having stopped in here again I have to drop my review to a 2-​star.
The reason?
Shopping here is a time wasting, frustrating, expensive event.
Now, were I still plus sized I would really appreciate the selection they have here. But I’m not, so the selection really does nothing for me. They’re also much more expensive than I deem necessary. I’d say about 5 – 10 dollars per item.
Don’t get me wrong, they have some great labels, but as before they have no sale section (items spread out around the store) which is frustrating. Add this to the fact that the price for their purses is hidden INSIDE the bag. Which means if I take a liking to it, I have to search through the thing to find out if I can even consider it.
Convenience makes a difference ladies.
I doubt I’ll be back.

Brand name clothing for less than half price.
I think the buyer, or whoever takes the consignments in is pretty selective about the clothing that they accept.

I find the best clothes here. I am 5“9 and a size 12 or 14 depending on the month and I always find clothes that fit me perfectly. I have to wear slacks to work and it is hard to find high quality slacks with lining, that are long enough for me and are still affordable. But it never fails, I leave here with 3 or 4 pair for $ 50 or $ 60 bucks. I also find casual clothes that I love. REALLY AFFORDABLE and EXCELLENT CONDITION!

I LOVE this place. It’s located in the heart of downtown Danville, and is a hidden treasure. When you first go in all you see are «fancy» suits and clothes that I wasn’t really intrested in, but if you keep going in towards the back they have a TON of great finds! They offer name brands such as Juicy Couture for a great price. In fact I bought two Juicy veluor suits at $ 59 a piece, and in excellent condition! This upscale consignment store is great, and the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful as well. In fact when I saw an outfit that I wanted that was initially a 4 piece outfit but only wanted 2 of the pieces they gladly separated them and gave me a price adjustment for it. This store also offers a ton of Louis Vuitton replica handbags for a great deal if you are into that. I came out of this store with a lot of great designer finds for a great deal, and a feeling that I could’ve spent way more than a hour in there. Be sure to check out the WHOLE store. A lot of the good stuff is hidden in there, and the store is big, so you need to have time and patience. But don’t worry, the friendly staff and owner will be there to help you out whenever they can. They also have a layaway system there so if you wan’t something but can’t afford it yet, this would be perfect.
