Knights Inn Boston/Danvers

This motel was dirty and smelled really bad. The staff was unfriendly and rude. I do not recommend this place.

You get exactly what you pay for here. The room was fine but we only had one pillow! We checked in around 2 am so at that point we were too tired to ask for another pillow. The guy at the desk was helpful the next day.
Doubletree was double the price so in terms of that it was worth it. I would rather book ahead of time and stay somewhere a wee bit nicer next time.

Really really really outdated rooms, but clean. The location is kind of meh as well. Stayed here for two nights. They actually use keys to get into the hotels. YEAH ACTUAL KEYS THAT YOU STICK IN THE DOORKNOB. Is this the 70s/​80s?!
Hung out in Salem and Boston during our stay here. Kind of a ways out, but we had a car– no problem.
Staff here is friendly. No complaints. Your average complimentary breakfast. Where our room was located was pretty far from the breakfast area though.
Served its purpose. For sleep and showers.

Pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and spacious. Beds were quite comfortable. Service was adequate. For the price this really beat my expectations. The continental breakfast was a little weak.

You get what you paid for. The staff was fine. We pulled up on a dark rainy night and drove past it two times. The room is huge and the bed is LARGE and clean. We got the fridge and microwave and im honestly surprised how clean and decent it was cause from the outside it looks sketchy. The wifi was awful and the breakfast poor but it was cheap and super quiet i have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about because i heard NOTHING it was eerily quiet. Wouldn’t stay there again but it served the purpose.

I’m writing this review at 5am from my wobbly bed at the Knights Inn. I’m not a runner or an early riser, I am just jetlagged and in desperate need of sleep… Too bad I won’t be getting any because my window is right by the I-​95 and although the window is closed, it sounds as if I was in the middle of the road, and I’m definitely not a light sleeper.
Obviously this is a good choice if you’re looking for an inexpensive (for Boston surroundings’ standards) place for the night — prices in Boston are outrageous and then there are parking fees, so this motel is relatively ok for the night while driving up north.
The pros are the price (relatively, we spent half of what we paid here last night at a pretty and comfortable Connecticut roadside hotel), the location right off route 1 and the I-​95, nice reception staff, spacious rooms with mini fridge and a microwave, breakfast included and coffee 24h at the reception. Oh, and free Wi-​Fi with great coverage, at least in our room.
Cons: the price is not as convenient as you would expect given the appearance and services of the hotel, the location is super noisy and the soundproofing is poor, the entrance to the hotel on Route 1 is dark at night, we almost missed it. The rooms are outdated and cleanliness is not the best (although bedding seems ok), doorknobs don’t seem that safe.
Don’t know if I’d be back, probably next time I’d spend an extra $ 50 and stay somewhere else with better soundproofing.

They are getting 2 stars based on the friendliness of the girl who checked us in last night. She was having a rough night but kept a smile on her face.
1.) Upon check-​in they put us in the wrong room. They said they had moved us because the hot water went out in the back building and they had to move everyone to the main building. Well, the problem with that is we paid for a specific room and I expect to get what we paid for. Again, the 2 stars is because the girl was really nice and moved us around to make sure we got in the room we were supposed to.
2.) We could have stayed somewhere else and saved $ 40 bucks for our total stay, but decided to spend the $ to stay here because of the «buffet style breakfast» and the price seemed more reasonable than taking 4 people out to eat every a.m.
But there is no buffet style breakfast here. There is coffee and plain creamer and sugar, orange juice, milk, 1 dry cereal and a few stale bagels.
As far as I’m concerned the Knights Inn owes me $ 40.
3.) Our non-​smoking room smells very much like cigarette smoke.
4.) The counters next to the bathroom sink weren’t clean, and I question other areas of the room as well. But you could clearly see rings from coffee cups and shampoo/​makeup stains that we had to clean up for them.
Overall, it was over priced for what was included, our room was substandard and we will never stay at another Knights Inn anywhere again because of this experience.

This Knights Inn, was horrible, when we checked the check in lady was rude, when we got to our room, the bathroom door had a big fist hole in it. I went to use the bathroom closed the door got locked in, was in there for at least 8 mins til my husband could get me out. The curtain did not close all the way at all. My husband had to fix that also. Around ten or eleven at night someone was knocking on our door my husband went to check and there was no one there.
If you wanted ice you had to go all the way to the main office and this is a huge Inn you had to use your vehicle to go get ice. We kept our room locked up with the do not disturbed sign on it.
Had no faith or trust in the people who was running this hotel, will never stay there again.

Old style inn but clean and large rooms. Refrigerator and micro and free breakfast at a reasonable price. The fastest check in I’ve ever had. All at a reasonable price!

Yep there’s a smell to the room, but it’s spacious and clean.
Yes it’s very outdated, but after staying at the Danvers Hilton this place was a welcome relief because you get what you expect, even a microwave and fridge!
Wifi, was terrible. Breakfast is corn flakes or a dry bagel, but at least you can take breakfast to your room.

No surprises. Clean. Quiet. But might be hard to find if the roadside signage isn’t turned on. This place is like one of those motor inns I remember from family travels in the 50s and 60s. A nice country setting, with good Internet and breakfast included. The office staff was really great, and Ryan the receptionist and the manager were always available to answer a question or have a short conversation about the area. I would definitely stay here again if ever in the area. I stayed for a week, and things were very consistent. No surprises. Pool only open after May! There are local restaurants that deliver if you don’t want to travel. Restaurant at top of the hill has a killer burger! DE — LISH!

You get what you pay for. The room was spacious but filthy. The blanket was full of someone’s hairs, and there was a bar soap already in the shower with someone’s body hair on it. The door knob to enter had sharp points sticking out. The tv channels didn’t come in and the wifi didn’t work.

It is what it is… but better. It’s a roadside motel, but it’s a short drive to Salem, and SO much more affordable than a central location. Far more charming than Motel 6, but it’s a bit no-​frills. We didn’t mind (it’s not where you are, it’s who you’re with sorta situation.) Ryan at the front desk was so helpful and friendly! We hounded him for info on pizza delivery, cabs, and a lot of other stuff. He was happy to help. It was our honeymoon and a friend called the hotel and asked that a note be sent to our room. She told him «nothing fancy, just jot a note. He typed it up and printed it out with an adorable photo! Above and beyond. We would definitely recommend it!

This is our second stay at this hotel. If you are looking for the Hilton or someplace like that then this is not the place. It is a very nice place and a great place to spend the night or two. Very simple and rustic but we’ll with it.

One word: bugs. There were ants and worm like creatures on the beds, flying bugs in the bathroom, and overall just nasty. I definitely recommend spending the extra bucks on a hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I wanted a cheap room because we weren’t going to spend much time in the room anyway. My first impression was «ah crap» because the room smelled like cigarette smoke, but after a few minutes inside I didn’t notice the smell anymore. The interior seemed very old like from the 70s, but it was clean! From other reviews I guess some rooms have flat screen TVs, but ours didn’t. The motel has a pool which is cool, but we didn’t use it. The shower was great with lots of pressure and hot water. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were very poofy and comfy. It had ac which worked very well and kept our room cool despite 80+ temps. Housekeeping did a great job each day. They have free breakfast of mostly bagels and danishes. The staff was really nice although they didn’t seem prepared for our arrival because our room wasn’t ready so they put us some where else, but that didn’t bother me. The biggest complaints from my husband was that he had to fix the flush twice because it would keep running and that we could hear the people in the room above ours walking around, but both those things didn’t bug me. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely go back especially for the price.

We stayed there for 3 nights, compared to the other overpriced motels in boston, I’d say it was one of the better ones. There was ample parking, rooms were clean, bathroom was spacious and spotless. It was never noisy, got a good night sleep. I would recommend to anyone trying to save some money to have fun in boston. A littlw far from downtown, but if you have a car its not a bad deal!

I stayed at the Knight’s Inn last night. Like many, I found it through Priceline. I needed a cheap room for one night only and wasn’t really concerned about amenities, just necessities. I booked without really checking any reviews because I found such a deal. After I decided to read the reviews online, I started to get a little nervous! Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised.
I agree the motel is a little tricky to get to, the driveways are really strangely planned and the buildings are tucked behind other commercial properties. The grounds were what you would expect at a motel. I encountered only 2 staff members, at check in/​out, but they were super friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size with a queen bed, table, 2 dressers and a night stand. The flat screen tv was pretty big IMO, though it appeared as though they opted out of HD in their DirecTV package. No problems with the heat, I was toasty warm and it’s the middle of February in New England. I found the room to be really clean and the bathroom actually smelled like bleach.
Only two complaints: 1. The walls are super thin, ended up sleeping with the tv on to drown out the snoring from one room and a small child calling out for his Mom (poor kid, but super creepy at 2 AM) in another. The water pressure in the shower was pretty bad, made washing my hair and rinsing off into a test of endurance. Neither awful enough to be a deal breaker, but if you are sensitive to noise, you might be in for a rough night!
Overall, if you are looking for a simple room at a great price, then that’s what you get. If you are looking for 5 star and elegant furnishings, keep looking!

Die erste Übernachtungsstation unserer USA-​Reise sollte möglichst preisgünstig sein, da wir aufgrund unserer Reisedaten wussten, dass wir erst gegen Mitternacht dort ankommen. Darüber hinaus suchten wir in Richtung Norden, da das Hotel eine Zwischenübernachtung in Richtung Maine sein sollte.
Durch einen vorherigen Check in den Reiseportalen sind wir auf das Knights Inn in Danvers aufmerksam geworden. Die für uns günstige Lage und der Preis von 62, — € bei Vorauszahlung und 4 Personen mit Frühstück haben uns überzeugt.
Bei der Ankunft waren wir positiv überrascht, dass das Hotel abseits hinter einer Anhöhe vom Highway 1 lag. Allerdings wurden wir am nächsten Morgen vom lauten Turnpike auf der anderen Seite des Motels geweckt. Den hatten wir in der Nacht übersehen.
Das Motel bietet üblichen Standard, ist aber schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen und die Klimaanlage war doch recht laut. Trotzdem war alles sauber und das Personal war überaus freundlich. In der Lobby gab es ein durchschnittliches amerikanisches Frühstück. Wie in fast jedem Motel gibt es auch hier freies WLAN.
Für eine Nacht ist das Knights Inn OK.

Place was filthy, walls had cracks and holes, tv satellite reception was fuzzy and hissing all channels, there were multiple cords coming out of the sockets to run everything leaving no room to charge a phone or laptop, wifi signal was nonexistent, the guy who rated this good on with a pic of him by his profile here to our surprise was the desk clerk at this place. The place advertised a microwave in the room through Priceline and there was none, the breakfast choices consisted of cornflakes, warm milk that tasted like powdered milk, a stale wrapped pastry, a hard bagel that was wrapped, oatmeal in a packet, warm oj, and nasty tasting coffee. There were no full size towels in the room to shower with, only a bunch of hand towels. The room we got was supposed to be nonsmoking and smelled like stale cigarettes and body odor, the place was hard to find off the highway because it was a run down roadside motel that was located behind the backside of a restaurant and unseen from the road, it must be a favorite of local kids because they were congregated there and partying all night. I was woken up early morning because of the thin walls with the sounds of the neighboring room screwing around. I went through Priceline to get a cheap rate and when I got there I saw we got full price of their current rates. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few bucks for a good motel

This is one of the best low cost Motel’s I have ever stayed at. I am very aware of cost perspective. When I am paying under $ 100 a night, I don’t expect much. But this motel excelled.
The service was impeccable, even when I arrived at 12 midnight. Our room, a 2 double bed, was huge, with a couch and a fridge. It was immaculately clean, almost spotless and comfortable. Excellent mattresses, hot water with good pressure. Though the shower head itself was low end.
Heat/​A/​C was via a fairly modern window unit that worked well.
The Wifi barely worked though, and the continental breakfast was sparse. But as I said, for the cost the motel was fantastic.
