Giving this store one star because zero stars is not possible. Owner is rude and arrogant. Adjacent Walmart store gave me permission to park overnight in the parking lot for one night. Wine store owner immediately and loudly berated me & said that if I wasn’t gone in 30 minutes he’d call landlord & police, & police would issue a $ 300 citation. There was plenty of parking space, and I was not using spaces that his customers would have needed. Owner is a jerk, period.

Was passing through Danbury for work and needed to pick up a special Tequila for a party. I called about 8 stores and none had it. Even though Avalonne didn’t have it, they were only ones who were able to custom order it and have it delivered next day at 9am! And I had called only at 6pm the evening prior! Was awesome of Angie to do this!

This place is in a convenient location inside the same plaza as Wal-Mart in Danbury. Putting convenience aside, this store is not worth your time or money. It looks terrible from the outside with too many large cardboard signs advertising their prices. And inside, there is not enough space in the aisles. But the most egregious offense at Avallone is that they sell beer that is far past its‘ «best buy» date. At the end of December, they sold me a hefe-weizen with a «drink by 04−2013» and an IPA that was more than 6 months old. These styles of beer do in fact lose a great deal of their quality when consumed that long after they are made. One would think a place that is in the business of selling beer(and wine and liquor) would check on the dates and quality of their products from time to time. But this store would rather sell you a product that has literally gone bad than go through the hassle of contacting their distributor to either exchange the old product /buy new, fresh product.
