My dad loves going here for their Soy Sauce Chicken. They sometimes sell out by dinner time so he’s been calling ahead. We also really enjoy their Roast Pork plus a number of their entrees including Chicken Wings, Tofu dishes, Clay Pots and Salt & Pepper Pork, Squid and Pigs Feet. The service is attentive and they always remember my family and know to bring Steve his beer and entertain his Cantonese. The only complaint is that the restaurant is rather small so it’s not good for over 9 people and their only round table fits 6 max but the table has table legs that bump up against your actual legs and my family often leaves limping. Though I find the staff attentive and more friendly than at other places, I’m only referring to one of the servers and you should know we speak Chinese. She does speak English too. The other two servers could care less about you but they’ll serve you just the same as anyone in the place. That’s what I expect at a Chinese restaurant. I mainly care about the food quality and you get that here plus a great selection of things that come hot, fresh and quickly to your table. I don’t care for any of their soups but I recommend all dishes, BBQ, stir fried and deep fried.

love their char siu and duck, but a bit pricey. i mainly go there for their noodles more than their family style dishes, but those are very good too. a bit of a small place; i recommend taking it to-go.

This casual place is great for any carnivore cravings — probably the best char siu pork I’ve ever had, and the roast duck is always fantastic as well. Any of the meats are always a solid choice! Another one of my favorites is any one of the chow fun(wide flat noodle) dishes — they always have the great«wok-kissed» flavor that I love. Anyway, you probably can’t go wrong. Good food and good prices!

Absolute worst restaurant i have ever been to. Horrible customer service the waiter just hushed us and other customers, and the food takes forever to be delivered. All of the waiters and waitresses are so rude. This happens every single time I go here. My family will never come here again! ZEROSTARS!!! And they had the audacity to give us our change and said«do you want to leave the tip here or on the table?»

I belong to a foodie group on Facebook and heard so much about the«salt & pepper oxtails», went there for the first time a couple of months ago and had not written this very late review. I hate it that my father was a chef and I’m told I cook pretty well also since I cater. It’s hard being a foodie and not commenting on food all the time BUT the oxtails I’m sure were boiled in water and then seasoned & fried when ordered. It was interesting but nothing I’d rave about. I think I’ve been here before when my mechanic says they make the best BBQ pork and Roast duck. I live in San Francisco where there’s literally tons of places that makes these 2 items so it would take a lot to be the BEST. Based on my opinion, it was not the best. As a matter of fact, nothing close to it. The overall experience here was less than good. The other dish people raved about was the tomato beef chow mein, Hong Kong style. Umm, excuse me but I think there must be a mistake. I think mine was snotty like, maybe too much corn starch?

Love their fish head grilled in an aluminum foil paper, amazing flavor with green onion, ginger salt sauce inside, that brings up all the fish flavor. Their dim sum is also very good, especially like their thousand layer cake and xo sauce turnip cakes. Everything else is also amazing, very authentic Cantonese food, though it’s not a very popular place compared to Coi Palace, which is only for foreigners.

I recommend getting food to go, particularly their bbq goods. NOTABLY, THEDUCK. 4 stars for you, duck! The sweetness on the bones of the duck… the perfectly flavored duck meat… it’s perfect. One duck is $ 18 total. And finally sat in today for a meal. Can’t say I really enjoyed it. It didn’t feel clean. There was also this annoying bug flying around the tables. Ordered the bbq pork, roast duck & wonton noodle and besides the duck(lol) nothing else was that special. J didn’t like his order of seafood pan fried noodles or something either. But you can guess what I’ll come back for :)

It’s all about the wings here for me. Supposedly San Tung got their wing recipe from them or something. Either way, I’m coming to this place instead cause it’s closer and there’s no line here. All their other food is solid as well.

Awesome, authentic cantonese food. Super affordable prices. What more is there not to like? The roast duck is roasted in house, super juicy and fresh. I’m salivating as I’m writing this review. Their rice plates are super generous in portion for a very reasonable price(less than $ 10, even for dinner!) I saw that they have claypot rice in their menu but never got the chance to try. Will definitely come back here again one day to try that!

It’s definitely not the cleanest restaurant in the world, but that’s to be expected for a lot of the lower end Chinese food restaurants in the Bay Area. You can’t go wrong with their wide selection of meats(I personally love the char siu). The egg/shrimp chow fun was really good, just the right mix of flavors. I also like their soy sauce chicken noodle soup. Chicken was tender and juicy and after mixing it with the broth, the flavor was really good! If the dim sum place in the same shopping area has a line out the door, don’t bother waiting, come here instead and you won’t be disappointed. :)

First of all, this review is for those of you growing up on Chinese food daily and used to real Chinese style food in America, not your Panda or Chow Mein type place. Everything here is awesome. 1. The food: Congee — The consistency was just right. The 100 year egg in it was tasty. Just like grandma used to make. Soy Sauce Chicken — Finger licking good! Tender and on the bone. Only way to eat it. Green Bean with Pork — Wow, I really enjoyed this dish. Beans cooked al dente and the pork was ground and just right. Veggie Fried Rice — I am not a fried rice eater, and normally only eat this when one of my western friends want it. I really enjoyed this. Beef Tendon — Yep, you got that right. Best thing to order! Fish Filet with Garlic — Wow. I always order steamed fish and this was darn tasty. 2. Location — In a tight strip mall with hardly any parking… there will always be a space as the people coming in and out is just right. 3. Price — Amazingly cheap. Love this local little place. My sister and parents took me here and it was darn good. The waiters all remember them since they come here often… GK says, check it out for sure.

They are best known for the roasted pork and chicken. Good chinese dishes with affordable price. Best for clay pot rice.

Very disappointed. The food was good. Not great but good. The won tons were my favorite. Roasted duck were served to us cold, so I was a little hesitant to eat it. Our customer service was slow and water was never refilled. Our bill came out to $ 48 and I left $ 50 on the table. Went up to the register and waited behind an elderly lady to get change for more tip because I never leave less than 18%. So as I’m waiting in line with $ 20 in my hand one of the male servers came storming up to me yelling and demanding more tip! !! I yelled back«I’m in line trying to get change to leave you tip, that’s why I have $ 20 in my hand! !(Waving it in his face)». He YELLED at me to leave the $ 20 on the table! !!! I said NO!!! Why do you deserve $ 22(plus the $ 2 on the table) you never ever checked on us or refill our water. I told him he was very rude and for that I am leaving you NOTHING! As I was walking away he demanded that I get back in line to get change. I laughed in his face and said«what don’t you get?? I’m leaving you ZERODOLLARS!!!» And left. My advice stay far away. Read the other reviews. This place is shady.

So good. The hand pulled noodles(I am not sure if they did this themselves) are cooked nicely without being too soft and has a nice springy-ness to it. I believe the house chow mein incorporates that noodle too. Either way I really enjoyed the house chow mein and the noodle soup. The soup noodles are lightly seasoned and with enough portions of veggies and meats. Don’t expect this to be a ramen like broth that is more seasoned and fattier– because that is not how Chinese noodle soups are like! I would definitely come back for the soup and the chow mein. The noodle is a little thick which is what I prefer. I like to order a noodle dish along with a plate of meat dish. Their roast duck is roasted nicely and the pork dish is crispy on the outside with great layers of fat and meat on it. Ordering their meats they show case in the front is the way to go. I can’t comment too much on the meat dishes they cook in the back. After all, they are a «BBQ» shop so you will get more fresh items if you order their items they have out in the front. Service is typical Chinese– as long as you are not obnoxious and warm to the staff, they usually respond at that level if not just a little bit below that. The seating can be cramp just because of how they laid out the tables/chairs. Here is where you can get a great bowl of noodle soup(including won ton noodles which I see a lot of people ordering!) in a casual atmosphere. Parking here is tight though. Most of the patrons here are so antsy and in a rush to park and leave– so prepare to be a little bit more patient with this crowd.

The place is a bit run-down. Stark walls with a few pictures from their menu. Tables and chairs a bit rickety. I only come here when my family does. Overall their food is okay. My family usually opt for their bbq items. They say it’s comparable to ones in Hong Kong. That’s impressive. I don’t eat much chinese bbq in general, so I’d take their word for it. My favorite dish there is the dry fried fish filet. It’s similar to the dry fried chicken dish at __________. Chunks of fish filet fried then tossed in a sweet and mild glaze. Yum! I can eat the whole plate myself.

Food deserves 4 stars, but giving 3 due to price and service. I’ve only been here to order takeout. Maybe their service is better if you dine in? You have to flag someone down to order takeout. No Bueno. Food is pretty good. I recommend the salt & pepper chicken wings, roast duck, and bbq pork over rice. They are slightly more expensive than other places in San Francisco, but since it is the only one nearby, I guess they have somewhat of a monopoly. Plenty of parking in the plaza and you can stop by the bakery or asian market while you’re there; or even go bowl! All in all, I can put up with their lack of service as long as I get my delicious wings and duck!

Classic Tai Wu — one of the most reliable /most consistent places to go for chinese food or a nice family dinner spot. I would go to this one over the new one in Millbrae, which people have complained to be more expensive and the food is just not as good. Service here is pretty good from experience. They also have a few big screen TV’s which are great for events like weddings and banquets. Food wise — get selection on the menu that you usually can get at all other good chinese restaurants. My personal favorite: seafood tofu clay sizzle pot, fish done 3 ways: soup, fish filet over veggies, and fish bones over tofu and veggies, also the salt and pepper pork. Parking — not the greatest parking lot /plaza for parking but it’s never a long walk.

I wanted an alternative to Porridge King since they have slipped in quality/quantity. Mr. Fong’s is pretty good. We ordered seafood chow mein, BBQ pork won ton noodle soup and shrimp won ton rice noodle soup. Not much seafood in the chow mein. We counted once shrimp, 2 scallops some fish and calamari. The noodles did taste good though it was done right. 5 won tons in the rice noodle soup. This was good too. You can taste the shrimp in the won ton. BBQ pork was good! Sweet and not too much food coloring. Too bad the pork had fatty bits to it. No we don’t like to chew fat! Service was perfunctory. They are friendlier to you if you speak the mother tongue. I ordered in Chinese! They did get one order wrong. They gave me duck won ton instead of BBQ pork. However they didn’t give me attitude when I sent it back. Dinner for $ 25. Not bad. Cheaper than porridge king. Parking is bad here. The lot is so small. We watched in fascination as a van came THIS close from banging someone’s bumper!

Mr. Fong/Tai Wu BBQ and Noodles is the casual sister restaurant to the Mr. Fong restaurant in the same complex. They don’t have dim sum available, but they do have noodles, Chinese BBQ, and your typical Chinese food dishes. We called in our order 10 – 15 minutes ahead of time, but still had to wait another 5 minutes or so when we got to the restaurant. They speak pretty good English, so it was easy to communicate. We tried: –Roasted Duck & Won Ton Noodle Soup w/Home Made Noodles(Soup on the Side, ): The roasted duck was flavorful and good, although it was on the fatty side. The home made noodles were ok, but bland when eaten separately from the soup. I wasn’t a fan of the won tons, which I also thought was on the bland side. I would get the roasted duck again, but try a different style of noodle next time and skip the won ton. –Deep Fried Chicken Wings w/Spicy Garlic Sauce( ): Just ok– the chicken wings were overly fried, and didn’t have much meat on them, and I wasn’t wowed by the flavor of the sauce. I wouldn’t get this dish again. There are a ton of different items to try from their menu, so I will definitely be back to order additional dishes. The Chinese BBQ seems to be solid here, and aside from that I would recommend sticking to Hong Kong style dishes. Parking in this center can be tough at times, but there are more spots towards the back of the complex where Mr. Fong/Tai Wu BBQ and Noodles is at.

This dim sum/Chinese food restaurant is located right across the parking lot from classic bowl and daily city. It’s in the shopping center that’s predominantly dedicated towards Asian-Americans and their needs. Which makes it a prime fit for anybody who loves Chinese food especially dim sum. With the solid four-star review I can see why this is a very popular place for people to eat. First off is this place has a huge dining space. Which means it’s perfect for families or large parties to celebrate any event. The hostesses and the staff are generally very polite and respectful, service here is fast and consistent. The Décor is pleasant and really speaks to the Chinese culture. The food here is great. Although I have not been here numerous times and cannot speak for the entire menu the amount of food that my friends and I have had here has always been top-notch. With food like: fried fish, potstickers, pork buns, a delicacy noodle that has a crispy interior with the softer exterior(I can’t remember what it’s called) you will leave this place full and ready for a nap. Just a little advice, I suggest going in the middle of the day during the middle of the week. It’s a lot less crowded and guarantees you no waiting time to be served.
