History

Established in 1988.

I have been teaching for more than 20 years. I began teaching in the Philippines while I was studying for my B Music Degree. On graduation and going back to India I continued teaching there working with students of all levels, including sometimes working with students who had tonal deafness or pitching issues. After graduation with my M Music Degree here in the US I have been teaching regularly starting off with teaching at a local school and then opening my own Music Studio here in Daly City, California, USA. In recent years I have been teaching online via my Online Voice Studio and now have students in India, the UK, Hong Kong and Germany. With technology I am able to reach a much larger audience where I can help students reach their goals in singing with healthy technique. Another large part of my work is doing Voice Workshops and Clinics worldwide, serving High Schools, Community Choirs, Dance Schools, Theater Companies and Private Music Schools.

A native of India, coming from an artistic background, Deirdre began her musical training under her mother, Celia Lobo, well known opera singer, theater director, and voice teacher in India, but then went on to attain her B Music, M Music and Post Grad Diploma, in the Philippines and USA. In the San Francisco Bay Area Deirdre has her own music studio where she works with students from the age of 5 yrs. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Deirdre teaches students vocal technique enabling them to sing the following genres of vocal music with ease and efficiency: Pop, Jazz, Rap, Broadway, Western Classical, Indian Classical and Bollywood music. Deirdre works with students of all levels of vocal and musical development — from beginners to advanced levels, and even specializes in teaching students with special needs. Deirdre has an Online Voice Studio and has students in India, HongKong, Germany & the UK.
