I went with my son to see the Briefs at the Red Blood Club in 2006, so my demographic is, shall we say, slightly out of whack with the typical punk club patron. Even so, I loved the RBC. The whole vibe was totally fun. The bartender was a sweetheart. And, although it’s a pretty divey dive, the place has a tiny courtyard where you can get some fresh air. During a break in the show, I was reading something out there when a nice guy comes up to me and says, «Hey man!. .. Are you, like, studyin’?» It must have been very confusing to see an old guy reading at a punk show, but he was interested, not hostile. It made my night.(By the way, the Briefs were excellent too.)

Whenever I’m not in Dallas, this is the bar I miss going to. No frills punk rock club, the way they don’t make them anymore. No attitude problems or elitism like at similar places and the PBR flows like water. Sweet live acts most if not all nights of the week, movies on Mondays and one of the sweetest jukeboxes I’ve ever fed a dollar to. I’m not sure there’s anything I would change about this place, I love it just the way it is and it’s the first place I’m headed once I’m back down south.

The dive-i-est live music venue in town. It’s very hidden and very quaint. I know it’s odd to hear that a metal club is «quaint» but it’s in such a good way The bartenders are great and they get to know you. The club has good sound and it’s usually got a good vibe. That’s completely dependent on what band is play, though. .. It’s certainly a dive. But again, in a good way.

Played here for some festival a few years ago, Stoner Hands of Doom I think. Nice little venue, good sightlines and a cool vibe though I think that had a lot to do with the fest that was there. Easy parking.
