The Mondrian Cityplace Luxury Apartments

I have lived here for over two years and I just want to save anyone the stress or agony before thinking about choosing this place as there place of residence. The management is terrible!!! The cleanliness of the facility is terrible!!! We live in a penthouse unit and pay prime $$$. The views of the dallas skyline is amazing! That’s what sold us on this place. But it WILL BE GONE in he next few months because there is a 28 story building that is going up right in front of the view. Other thank the view and the location this place has nothing going for it. Our penthouse unit was burglarized along with 2 other units in the same day. No forced entry. The detectives have confirmed this was an inside job and a key was used to access all three units. Of course most of the security camera did NOT work and haven’t worked for at least a year. How convenient or is that just ironic. I can go on and on and on… don’t live here!

The Mondrian is a great place to live. I loved having a concierge there ²⁴⁄₇. They made it easy for guests to come visit and you could pick up your dry cleaning or packages at any time. The only reason I moved out was because my roommate moved back home and the singles were too expensive for me at the time. Maintenance was always very quick to respond to requests and did a great job. The apartment complex was always very clean and everyone is friendly. I miss living here a lot! If you’re considering living in the West Village area the Mondrian should be on your list. It’s in a great location and West Village is awesome. It was a great place to live and I highly recommend it!

Look, the location is great. It’s pretty unbeatable. And my loft unit was great… inside the apartment I had very little complaints except the two dog parks located at the bend in Noble and the seemingly endless yard work going on every day of the week.
Where I DID have issues is the utter lack of communication between members of the management team in multiple different issues that arose while I was living there, whether it be warning them about the drunk woman who screamed at me and threatened to key my car because I didn’t let her in the garage gate (apparently she has a history of this…) to strong-​arming me to let the future tenants view my apartment a month before my lease was up (and then they scheduled the viewing for noon on a Sunday when they aren’t even open so there wasn’t a leasing agent on the property and they forgot to alert me and the future tenants to the time change so I sat around my apartment all morning waiting for them to show up) to not responding to my e-​mails regarding returning the deposit.
Having said that, the concierge is great and super friendly. It’s just too bad that poor management ruins so many great buildings.

My girlfriend lived here for 2 years, and just moved out a few days ago. I’m definitely going to miss this place! The concierge treats anyone that comes in as if they are residents. I never heard about any major issues. And I honestly enjoyed being there more than my own place!
The units are very quiet, as well as up to date.
I would definitely recommend living here!
The only con is that the parking garage isn’t the most secure. People can tailgate in, and we ran into some sketchy people from time to time. But there will be crime no matter where you go!

I love the Mondrian. I live in one of the lofts and it’s been great so far. I love being able to walk out to the street (since i have a dog).
PROS:
–I love the 24 hour concierge. It’s so nice to be able to go pick up my packages after business hours. It’s also nice for delivery food and directing people to our apartment.
–I do not hear my neighbors which is nice!
–The parking situation has been good and there are always lots of guest spots.
–Location! You seriously can’t beat it. You can walk to so much. I love the food places near by.
–They bring in brunch once in a while and it’s always really good!
–Units are cool and not «cookie cutter» especially the lofts!
CONS:
–When we moved in there were several maintenance issues (but I emailed the office and they got everything fixed in a timely manner)
–It’s right next to a school (my unit). which is fine but kind of weird having high schools running around a few steps from our door when they get out of school each day.
–My unit has one of those second story balconies and i can’t even fit a couple of chairs on it. Other units have larger ones.
–the «dog park» is DISGUSTING. I won’t let my dog set foot in there. It smells like pee, so bad. We could smell the pee from over 20 feet away.
Overall, I am panning on re-​newing my lease for another year.

Since there aren’t recent reviews I feel The Mondrian deserves one as we just moved in a month ago. Yes, it’s pricey… but it’s Uptown… everywhere we searched in this area is pricey per sq.ft. But for us, it’s worth being 4miles to work vs. when we had a house in HEB and drove 35miles one way to work.
The amenities are great — 24hr-​7 days a week concierge — it’s like we live in a hotel! They do wake up calls, hold your packages, take repair/​work orders, announce your guests (or delivery food)!
You can NOT beat the location — right off 75 and across the street from West Village. We can walk across the street and jump on the McKinney Trolley, we can walk down the street to the Magnolia and watch a movie, we can walk to many restaurants to eat… if you want to live in the country and not in the concrete jungle… then no, the Mondrian is not for you. But it’s just what we wanted!
It’s very quiet — we are on the 6^th floor and never hear any walking over our heads or anyone even in the halls. We haven’t had any problems finding parking or waiting on elevators. I have no idea if the current management is new or been there for awhile — all I know is everyone has been friendly and they’ve responded within 24hrs to any repair requests. We feel safe, it’s clean, and we are confident we made the best decision leasing here!

So it’s been over a year since I moved out of the Mondrian, but I miss it. Living in San Francisco now, I can truly reflect on just how nice the amenities and the large spaces were at my old place in Dallas.
The Mondrian is an upscale apartment complex right across from West Village in Dallas. So, it is within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and stores, as well as the driving range. The complex itself is very nice… there is a large lobby with comfy couches and wi-​fi, as well as a gourmet coffee machine. Free breakfast is served on the first Sunday of every month, and there is a 24-​hr doorman. A concierge service is available during business hours… they were always very helpful with whatever I needed. Also, the complex’s pool was nice and well-​kept, with a gas fireplace near the edge of the pool. The parking garage was easy to get into and out of, and security was pretty tight (a key fob is needed to enter the complex during non-​business hours, as well as to access the elevators).
I lived in a 3 bed, 2 bath apartment that was very big. The living room was so large that we had trouble filling the space with furniture. We had a large patio with a sliding glass door, as well as large windows throughout the unit. My master bedroom had a HUGE walk-​in closet with a he/​she split. The master bedroom’s bathroom had a full-​size tub, as well as a walk-​in shower. The unit also had a washer/​dryer room and plenty of other closet/​storage space.
I loved living at the Mondrian. The price we paid was very reasonable ($ 2250/​month for a place that was huge for the 3 of us). Now I pay $ 3000 for a much smaller 2-​bedroom place in SF, so I know what I’m missing out on.
Oh, and another little perk was that the hallways always smelled great (I think they pumped something into the air?) Go live at the Mondrian if you can!
