Just finished the brunch buffet and it was so great that I am typing this in the lobby. There were a wide variety of options, all of which were delicious. The staff was friendly, professional, and personable. Anjanette was our server and she really put our visit over the top. She even got me a my favorite drink from the coffee shop! Such a pleasant start to the day. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend this place. We ate her on December 26th directly after our wedding which we had in one of the Omni hospitality suites. Are reservation was for 5pm for a large party, but we finished very early and they gladly accommodated us. We were sat in one of the private dining rooms, very warm and rustic. We had 3 different appetizers, all delicious. The spinach dip, cheese tray and the pickled deviled eggs. Everyone enjoyed their meal, we had burgers, salads and chicken fried steak. May be the best chicken fried steak I’ve have had. All the food was fresh and made right their. We also had a wedding cake that the chef personally came out and served… nice touch. Thank you for the hospitality and excellent service.

Fantastic New Years brunch at Texas Spice. The buffet was terrific and Sean, the manager, made us feel so welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. I highly recommend Sunday brunch at Texas Spice!!!

I’m still here, enjoying this marshmellow/pineapple ambrosia dessert during my friend’s bachelorette dinner. but the food & service was so superb that i wanted to write down my thoughts before i forgot after the night i’m sure this bachelorette is going to bring me…(ok, i saved the draft & now i’m back the next day to finish this review BUT!) $ 20.57 total for a buffet of southern foods made farm to table which included: + butternut squash soup — i kept calling it a grainy queso. it is so velvety & creamy — delicious! + fresh salad assortments — i choose the spinach & berries, definitely can taste the crispness, sweetness & tartness of each ingredient. + herb potatos, herb carrots, sauteed cabbage, creamed hominy, mac&cheese — yum, yum, yum, yummmm. + sliced beef — full of flavor! + shrimp & chorizo stew — just the right amount of spices. + roasted chicken — i didn’t eat this, but the rest of the girls ate it up. + BBQ meatloaf — in the words of our server Ingrid: «don’t sleep on the meatloaf — it is SO good.» + assortment of desserts — lemon bar, good. ambrosia, good. ice cream, GOOD. the rest of the desserts looked just as good, but i was so full i couldn’t even think about trying it all. the dining experience was fantastic. i had a huge headache from running around finishing up errands that i was actually nervous i wouldn’t be able to enjoy the meal or the night — but our server, Ingrid, and the manager went above & beyond by going to the gift shop in the hotel to get me some Advil which helped the headache go away soon after so that i could enjoy the rest of the eventful bachelorette party. in addition to our awesome server, there was a young man near the buffet(i didn’t catch him name) who brought out the ice cream when asked who was so sweet to the kids that were asking for whipped cream on their ice cream. texas spice — you’re full of sugar & everything nice as well too — will most definitely be back!

This place was on a short list of «places that I could walk to from the Omni Hotel». I would HIGHLY recommend coming here, even if you are not staying in the hotel. I don’t remember all the pricing… but it was an avg of $ 20 I think for each meal. I was here for a large conference. Even though a conference was going on there was plenty of seating. We did not have a reservation and just walked on in. We had the all you can eat«farm to table» buffet. This was $ 19. The food on the buffet was simply amazing. There was 4 – 5 salad options, potatoe & corn chips with homemade(maybe habenero salsa… it was HOT), entrees(fish, chicken, beef), HOMEMADE desserts(cobblers, pie, cake, cake shots, cookies), and breads(rolls and biscuits). The chocolate chip cookies were literally the best I have ever had. The service was great. We ordered water. They bring you a large bottle to leave at the table. They even come back and refill your water for you. My glass actually never went empty. Come here. That is all.

While staying at the Omni we went to Texas spice for breakfast. It is not cheap however it is excellent. My wife got the breakfast buffet which is $ 19 but does include your coffee and OJ which makes it a little bit better since just your normal 2 eggs, pots & meat is $ 14 then you pay for your drinks works out to be cheaper. I elected for the breakfast brisket hash which was absolutely amazing. There is a TON of it easily splittable for 2 people that doesn’t eat a lot for breakfast. The server was excellent and the food super fresh. Place is comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend because as the saying goes«you get what you pay for»

Incredible breakfast! I ordered the Brisket Hash… OMG! Huge portion. Many Gluten Free options. Robert was my server and his was very accommodating and attentive. I sat at the bar since I was solo. After seeing a plate of raspberries on my neighbors plate, I asked for a bowl of berries. Robert suggested I help myself to the buffet. I have remember this place next time.

I ate here a few times over the week of CEDIA. Everything that I ordered was great but the one time I ate the buffet I wasn’t very impressed. Between some items being cool and some were not very fresh. I highly recommend the brisket with poached eggs if you eat breakfast, it was amazing.

Although I did not have the chance to dine here the food that other diners were enjoying looked amazing. My husband and I popped in for a drink while staying in the hotel. Their craft cocktail menu is quite impressive, he ordered a top shelf signature margarita and I had a signature gin martini. Both drinks were delicious, unique and although expensive, worth every penny! So why three stars you ask?! The bartenders were so disengaged, we felt as if we were bothering them, actually we probably were… They were in a deep discussion about other coworkers. Very unprofessional and brought down the mood at the bar for sure. Other than that, I would go back(and sit at a table) for the beautiful décor and to try some of the food.

In town for a convention. Saw this place nearby and came to have the chicken fried steak. It was spectacular. It melted in your mouth. I would recommend all to try it off you like steak and fried chicken. It’s located in the bottom of the omni hotel. Overall experience… Ambience 9 Service 10 Food 9

This is a tough review to write, but not for the reason you might think. We stayed at the Omni in Dallas twice in 2014, in August and December. Both times for a week. We spent much of our December visit just decompressing at the Omni. We ate quite often at the hotel’s restaurants. I’ll get to the point: our experience with Texas Spice was so exceptional that I hesitate to describe it, lest you be disappointed. First, the food is quite good. Very good, in fact. I loved the buffet. The choices quite varied and the quality superior. The prices may be considered high for some folks(I recall the lunch buffet being $ 18), but given the selection and quality of the offerings, combined with the décor and service, I considered it a very good value. The steaks there were also wonderful. It got to the point where I’d go down to Texas Spice to eat even when I was still somewhat full from the prior meal there! Now to the service. I have never experienced better service anywhere, period(restaurant or otherwise) than we received at Texas Spice. Invariably, the staff was cheerful and attentive. We’re not overly demanding on waitstaff, but any inquiry on our part was met with, «sure, we can do that for you.» I place the credit for this entire operation with Texas Spice manager Crystal Dossman, who should be very proud of her results. Crystal and her staff made us feel at home. Note: I understand that Crystal is no longer there. I have every reason to believe that Texas Spice continues to provide exception service and cuisine. The hotel itself is wonderful, with Texas Spice the jewel in the crown. We’ll be back again. Just staying at the Omni, and eating at Texas Spice may be reason enough to fly from L.A. to Dallas! I wish I could give them six stars.

I’ve had breakfast at Texas Spice several times. The services is always great and the food is simply amazing. I want to try everything because it looks so good. The restaurant is located downtown Dallas inside the Omni Hotel. It has a Texas flare which I love, very local feel(including the hotel art). The concept of farm-to-market allows for fresh ingredients from the area and Texas. It’s different, it has it’s own personality… it’s perfect.

The service was incredible! We had to move to a larger table as more friends joined and they didn’t bat an eye. The waiter was top notch and offered great recommendations. The food was good. Chop salad and peanut butter pie Yum!

We came here twice, for dinner and the next afternoon for lunch. Service varies depending on waiter. On our first night, we met one of the sweetest waiters who ended our meal with free milk and cookies! —- Dinner 4.5÷5 stars —– — APP Tuna Tartare Tacos($ 13) — devoured this appetizer! very fresh tuna with flavorful sauces(think chili, chimichurri, and chipotle aioli) — APP Brown Butter and Sage Mac & Cheese($ 9) — very warm, cheesy, and filling — APP Red Neck Cheddar Meat Balls($ 9) — odd combination of meatballs, cheese, and BBQ sauce but not bad — MAIN Angus Ribeye Steak($ 36) — decent steak with delicious roasted veggies — DESSERT Cookies & milk(on the house, normally $ 7) — homemade chocolate chip cookies and ice cold farm milk SWEET! —- Lunch 3⁄5 stars — – — SPECIALBBQ Glazed Ribs + black bean salad + sweet potato fries + milk/cookies($ 16) — wow! The salad was mediocre but the fries were crunchy and warm. Ribs were a little dry. — MAIN Grilled Gulf Fish Tacos + chips($ 14) — hard-shell tacos(I prefer soft) and not as flavorful as the tuna tartare tacos but a hearty lunch meal nonetheless. I loved how the restaurant has a classy and warm vibe but no dress code. That’s a win! It’s also one of the three(four?) restaurants/eateries for the Omni Hotel.

The Tuna Tartar tacos — delicious. Really eclectic menu — right up my alley with deviled eggs, burgers, salads, flat breads and really great starters. The deviled eggs were great — 3 different kinds(Crab, pork belly and radish — all very good). It’s not a typical hotel restaurant. The food is not only very good but inventive and fresh. Grilled fish tacos were also FRESH — clean and I would order them again in a heartbeat — but the Tuna Tartar were my favorite!

Pleasant surprise, at 6am in the freakin morning. Central time for a Californian. I wake up in the middle of the«night»(in California at least), and am just starved. I am walking around the hotel and am highly doubtful I can get a decent bite, as I stumble into this place. Was a really really fantastic breakfast. The eggs and ouevos ranchero were done perfectly. Not too greasy or grimy — still moist and not over salted. You know you are off to a good start with a place when they can do their eggs right. And they actually had healthy options there too — grilled vegetables, chicken patties, and turkey bacon. All very well done. Salty, crunchy, without being over cooked. The root vegetables still had their crunch. You finish off with a good bread pudding and fresh orange juice here. And with excellent service. The«art of breakfast»(buffet) is the one to do here. Terrific Texas hospitality.

Kind of disappointed with Texas Spice. While the high-end buffet thing isn’t awful, I still expect good service. We had a reservation for 6 and were seated at a table with 5 glasses and 4 sets of silverware. Like, what? Whatever. Our server came shortly after to bring us water and then disappeared for what felt like forever. Was the restaurant packed? No. So not sure why he was having a hard time checking on us, although he was very polite. Most of our table ordered the buffet, I ordered the achiote rubbed chicken. The chicken was very moist, but the rub might as well have not existed. Fingerling potatoes were very good, cooked perfectly, and the spinach was okay. Kind of funky flavor, but otherwise fine. Everyone really enjoyed the buffet and I kind of wish I had gone with that instead of a $ 26 piece of okay chicken. Our server eventually came back and told us we could all eat at the dessert bar(even though two of us ordered off the menu) and the dessert wasn’t half bad! I had chocolate cake, some kind of chocolate(German?) mouse, and what I can only assume was a tiny pumpkin pie. The cake was great and the others were good too, just not my cup or tea. Overall I wish the service had been better and that the chicken had been seasoned properly, although it looked beautiful!
