We really enjoyed our lunch at the Richardson Food Truck Park and our food from the Guava Tree. My husband and I shared the Cuban sandwich and the donuts. The sandwich had a good amount of cheese and meat. The bread was amazing and I would come back just to get more of the bread. The good came out quick and it was a good portion for both of us. The donuts were warm and the combination of the guava jelly and the cream cheese was rich and sweet, without being overally sweet. Will be back to get both of these as well as try some of their other items. The yucca fries look amazing.

Love the Guava Tree Truck. The Cuban sandwich is delicious, I now crave it. The yucca fries are fantastic as well. I definitely suggest if they are ever in your area.

This was such a good lunch option! Ordered: — Cuban Sandwich($ 9): slow roasted pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese, sliced pickles, guava mustard(!!!) on medianoche bread — Lechon Asado Over Rice($ 9) with Beans: slow roasted pork, basamati rice, mojo, cilantro — Cuban Donuts($ 5): guava jelly(!!!) and cream cheese All the serving sizes were huge and it’s definitely worth it! Meats were really flavorful and juicy. I haven’t had a legit Cuban before but I will happily have this one over and over again. Also first time trying guava and the donuts were delicious. Not too sweet but definitely very fried. Ordering the three was perfect for sharing between two people!

By far the best Food Truck I had food from. They are always friendly and very helpful when asked about the taste of the food. They truly explain each flavor to you. The prices are decent but A bit high compared to a restaurant. I can understand as they do cook in a rolling truck– Gas Money \(^.^)/ Any who, I **recommend** the Yucca fries with Mojo sauce or the Loaded Yucca Fries. I like the fact that they have this vegetarian option.(It does have queso fresco and crema) but its Yummy! Over all– So glad this truck is out and about to satisfy our tummies: D

Just get the Cuban donuts. It looked like it was in the fryer for too long but do not let it fool you! Just make sure you take a big bite bc the jam is in the center after the cream cheese. Yum-o

You need to put this food in your face hole! Fedora approved, Cuban food with a twist, so good you will wish you had a Mojito to wash it all down. Pro tip, get the fries.

I was really hungry, and the lechon asada(slow roasted pork over rice) sounded really good. It’s supposed to be drizzled with garlic mojo sauce and comes with cilantro. Well, when I got it, it was pork on a plain bed of rice and 3 pieces of cilantro leaves. The pork was really good(soft and tender), but I barely tasted any garlic sauce. It was basically pork with rice. $ 7 for that?! No, thanks. We also tried their Cuban Donuts, which are basically beignets. Pretty good dessert. Even though their dessert was decent, I’m pretty upset about the lechon asada and probably wouldn’t come back here.

Okay meal but not authentic. Three stars for fillingness and that the pork was tender. It’s not a true Cuban place though. Seems like the food of a non-Cuban, Cuban-food enthusiast. Or Maybe better stated as this: It’s like your neighbor once went to Cuba for a week and came back attempting to recreate the food with bare minimum knowledge. It’s not bad though but it doesn’t have the feel or techniques. Id recommend eating at this truck over most dallas food trucks. The food at worst is satisfying and the pork was ultra tender. Nothing tasted bad and service was friendly. But again. Not the real deal.

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it. This food truck gets three stars for the yucca fries alone. They are heavenly. Crunchy with a tender inside, perfectly salted, and served with a garlic mayo that is perfection(but be careful because it’s some seriously strong garlic!) As for the sandwiches, we got the classic Cuban and some other shredded beef concoction. The Cuban was fine. Good lean pulled pork, some lunch meat ham, pickles and mustard. It’s was edible but bland. The bread was nicely pressed with a crunchy outside and chewy inside. As for the other sandwich, it was beef with… watered down tomato paste… Maybe I like tex next too much but, I need some spice, or just even some flavor in a tomato based sauce. So all in all, it was fine. But I expect more from a sandwich when it costs $ 9.

Tried this truck at the Frisco StrEATs festival. Not sure if they showed up there with a limited menu or if many items were just sold out by the time I ordered(after 5 pm), but all that was available was a Cuban sandwich, loaded yucca fries, and Cuban donuts. Ordered everything but the fries. The Cuban donuts were the highlight. Basically balls of fried dough with guava jelly and cream cheese(I think) dusted generously with powdered sugar. Really tasty and served fresh and piping hot. The Cuban sandwich was good enough, but pretty much all I could taste was pork and pickles. The pork was cooked well and was tasty, but the sandwich didn’t strike me as particularly«Cuban.» Needed more mustard. Basically needed more than just good pork to justify calling it more than just a pulled pork sandwich. I would want to try them again when other menu items are available. Prices are comparable to most other food trucks.

I tried the yucca fries for the 1st time and they were okay, nothing special. My hubby really liked them. I’m not sure how to describe the taste, but maybe I would try the loaded ones next time. It was my 1st time visiting the truck @Sigels on Greenville Avenue and I will say they are very friendly and that means a lot to me.

I hate to give someone a bad review but I’m from Miami and found this truck to be an insult to my home. I had the yuca w mojo, «Cuban» sandwich, and lechon asado(pork over rice). First of all people, Mojo(pronounced mo-ho) is supposed to be a mix of oil, tons of minced garlic and a variety of citrus juices. It’s always a translucent yellow. Theirs has no citrus flavor and is an opaque white– nothing authentic about that! Yuca fries are supposed to be thick, soft like potatoes, piping hot out of the fryer and crispy on the outside. Theirs were thin, cold, and Americanized to the point of tasting like a French fry. The Cuban sandwich was lukewarm(granted it was a busy night at an event), and had no color on the bread. The bread was the closest thing to Cuban besides their offering of jupina(pineapple soda), and guava nectar. The pork on the sandwich tastes more like Texas bbq and while supposedly the other elements of a Cuban sandwich were there, you could hardly notice as they were completely overwhelmed by the pork. Pork on a Cuban sandwich is never smokey and pulled, it is sliced and whole. The lechon asado used the same pork and was served over rice and topped with whatever sauce they seem to think is mojo. The dish itself was ok but lacked the flavor of Cuban food entirely. Also, Cubans don’t garnish with cilantro. Mexicans do. All in all, this place may have decent food, but it is so far from Cuban, I felt compelled to write this review. There may be few Cubans in Texas but there are plenty of Floridians. Why this truck thinks the people of Dallas will not be receptive to authentic Cuban food is beyond me, but until then, you should consider changing your description from Cuban American to Texas fused with Cuban. Cubans: stay away, this will not taste like your mother’s food.

Saw them at the food trucks festival. I was too full to try their real food but I did get the cuban donuts… those were like little puff pillows stuffed with hot gooey guava!!! they were so good! That was the only thing I got and it was delicious so I’m sure their other stuff is just as good!

As this was my first foray into gourmet food truck food, I wanted to try a lot of things. I ordered the Pan con Lechon sandwich, the Loaded Yuca Fries and the Cuban Donuts. I got all that for $ 16 so it’s definitely on the low end of moderate pricing. First, I’ll start with the sandwich. The bread was very good. It had a thin crisp crust and it was very soft on the inside. The swiss cheese was good, but seemed to dominate the flavors of the roasted pork and the garlic slaw. The fried onion strings were most likely just canned French’s. Overall quite good, but I think the pork needs more seasoning so it isn’t lost in the Swiss cheese. Secondly, the loaded Yuca Fries. These are delicious; I enjoyed them more than the sandwich. They are a wonderful blend of tastes and textures. Crispy yucca fries topped with black beans, queso fresco, more French’s fried onion strings and a cream sauce. Finally, the best for last. OMG… the Cuban donuts are evilly addicting! Crispy and soft, sweetly filled with guava and cream cheese and topped with powdered sugar. The only thing they need is small cup of Cuban coffee to wash them down with. Overall, it was a very satisfying first try with the gourmet food trucks. I will be on the lookout for more! :-)
