Sushi Axiom

I almost always would get delayed or slow service — seemed the worst on non-​peak hours. Moving on to other place to call my sushi spot. Sushi not bad though.

I walked in and the restaurant did not smell very good at all. Then our server had some serious body odor and was carrying a knife on his hip.

This place is fantastic. I have been coming here for years. The staff is terrific and the sushi is superb. A must for any sushi lover.

Extremely good sushi. The miso soup had the best broth of any miso I have ever had. We had the Crispy Calamari and Tower of Pisa for appetizers. They were both excellent with delicious sauces. I had the Midori Roll (Tuna, Salmon, White Tuna, Crab & Avocado) which was awesome and lo cal. My partner had the Crawfish Dynamite which was just as good, only in an extremely decadent way.

We had group happy hour hosted by Lunch Buddy App here today. Found this is really nice sushi place with clean environment, good food and great service. Will come here again.

Sushi is mediocre, and I don’t know about you, but I don’t care at all for mediocre sushi. Perhaps the most disappointing thing about Sushi Axiom, though, is the drinks – way subpar, which is crucial in the Addison area where it’s important to have good drink craft.
Service? What service? Also subpar, and sometimes even just negligent. Have been about four times and ask myself why I go every time. Hop over to the caddy corner cross streets and pick one of many much better restaurants for your dollars.

This place has a great atmosphere and really good sushi. I came in once for lunch and new I’d be back very soon. They have great happy hour specials both food and drinks!
I have only tried a few things off the menu (creature of habit) but everything is delicious!

Absolutely loved the food! Super tasty. We went during happy hour and were very pleased. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. We def know where we’ll be spending our date nights. Did I mention great prices? I have absolutely no complaints about this place whatsoever. Keep it up, guys!

Lenten Fridays are back, which means my choices for Valentine’s Dinner were limited. I came up to Dallas from Houston, and my friend suggested this sushi restaurant. Sushi probably isn’t the best way to «lent» but whatever.
My date and I arrived and were greeted by a lovely young Asian lady (probably early twenties) who turned out to be the manager. Impressive for her age!
Anyway, she had us seated fairly quickly and the service was pretty good. The manager recommended the spicy tuna and crab nachos to start, and the Lion King, Love at First Bite and Mt. Axiom rolls, which were all very delicious! My date was an incredibly slow eater so I had to hold back or else I would have devoured all the dishes myself, but the manager was nice enough to make light conversation with us. She was very nice, had a funny laugh and I swear, I think my date was more attracted and interested in her than me.
Overall I had an enjoyable experience, my date could have been better but at least the meal was paid for. Great service/​management, great food!

Bad date there, luckily sushi made up for it! Fantastic happy hour, nice staff and fresh and delicious food. Very good!!!

Had no intentions of coming here but the first restaurant I went to was reserved for a performance and the second was booked with an option to wait 30 mins to an hour so I wound up eating here. So glad I did. The décor was very nice, the server was sweet and the fish tank was so awesome I thought it was fake! Now to the food. I had the spicy tuna & crab nachos appetizer… AWESOME! Then I had the Eel roll, Scallop dynamite, and Cajun roll. They were all delicious. The cream cheese in the Scallop dynamite was a bit too much for me but not too much to not eat it! My bill came to $ 50 bucks which wasn’t too bad because the sushi was on point!

Went there coincidentally during their happy hour. But it was not very happy. $ 4 for two pieces of Salmon sushi. I would hate to know its original price. $ 7 for tinis; I got Pearfection which our waitress say it’s the strongest of the happy hour selection.
We had Spicy Salmon Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll, Ceviche, Fried Calamari.
Service was not bad. It was pretty empty at that time and our waitress came at the right times to check on us.
Despite being happy hour, our bill came out to $ 53.

The environment of Sushi Axiom is very inviting. The décor is stylish and modern. I love that they accept reservations and have a nice big patio.
The bellini martini is so so good :) I highly recommend it. We haven’t really had a bad drink at Sushi Axiom but that one is my favorite. We have tried the stuffed jalapenos, which are to die for. I love the overloaded crab and fresh jalapeño taste. The spicy edamame is no joke. It has some pretty intense heat. We have also tried the crab wontons which are served piping hot with creamy deliciousness inside.
As far as sushi rolls go, you can’t go wrong with the Mt. Axiom :) It’s prepared perfectly. We have tried several rolls, but that one is our go to. The Louisiana roll is kind of hit or miss.
I think this is a nice, affordable, and trendy sushi place. They do have other meal options for the non-​sushi lover. They have quick service, and they are super clean.

Stopped by for a quick bite of sushi the other night. Once you get through the revolving door, the ambiance inside has a loungy vibe to it. I instantly fell in love with the wine bottle wall décor separating the dining area from the bar. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Selecting a plate to share was probably the hardest thing to do because there were so many delicious options! Axiom consisted of crab, salmon & tuna with rice and avocado wrapped in soy paper drizzled with spicy tuna sauce. It was great, especially for walking in during the last hour before close.
We will be returning with more time to spare to mingle and sample other delicious options and explore into the happy hour that fellow Unilocalers are chatting about. It was a very pleasant experience though in a great setting with great service.

The happy hour menu here is pretty good. I ordered the peach martini drink for $ 7 and it was VERY strong but delicious at the same time. I also ordered the ceviche for $ 8 and it was a little on the smaller side, so I also ordered a salmon roll for $ 4. The salmon roll was teeny tiny and maybe it’s only this small during happy hour, but if I paid full price for it I would have been very disappointed.
The interior is beautiful and modern and the servers were very patient with our large group. I would definitely come here again during happy hour.

Sushi Axiom is an amazing sushi restaurant!
Instantly, walking in to Sushi Axiom, the location had a very cool romantic atmosphere. It’s fun walking through the rotating door and seeing the stacked wine glass wall separating the dining area from the lit bar. I couldn’t tell you much about the drinks at the bar, but I can talk loads about the sushi.
I came in with a group of friends and both the hostess and waitress were extremely amazing and friendly. I can’t remember everything we ordered, but I do remember that the Dynamite, Lion King, and the Happily Ever After were especially pleasing. If you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy raw fish, these are perfect for you. I believe the Dynamite and Lion King were topped with baked salmon and both were extremely flavorful. I feel that a lot of cooked sushi that is either baked or tempura fried can get a bit fishy, but these were not. They had a clean texture of fish that was flavored perfectly. When it came to the Happily Ever After roll, it was tempura fried with each individual piece topped off with imitation crab. All of these rolls were super satisfying. If everyone hadn’t ate everything, I seriously would have eaten the whole table by myself.
We also ordered some non-​sushi dishes, Pad Thai See Ew and Spicy Fried Rice. They were extremely large plates, which would have taken me at least 2 – 3 sittings, but everyone who ordered it cleaned their plates completely. I didn’t get a taste, but it must have been really good considering they were gone immediately.
At the end we got a the mochi ice cream and a tempura fried ice cream. The mochi wasn’t as outstanding as the sushi, but it was still good. Some people picked up a piece where the mochi wasn’t chewy like it should of been, but it was still good. As far as the fried ice cream, it was SUPER YUMMY. The ice cream was HUGE! It came out cut in to 4 piece, and even cut up it was FRIGGEN HUGE! The batter wasn’t oily as I expected. It was cake-​like, so essentially we were eating a thinner cake with a massive amount of ice cream. IT WAS HEAVENLY!
Needless to say, this Sushi Axiom location gave me an amazing foodie experience. While some may complain that the sushi prices may be pricey, I think it’s worth the quality. If anything, they give you a better quality sushi than what you paid for. A good time to go is during their happy hour they have daily, which is also held all day on Sundays! I’m definitely going to be a returning customer.

Highly recommend this place. Very different than most places in Dallas. Great for a date, or with friends.
Atmosphere is very cool. And their food is great. The service is also excellent.

Fairly decent Sushi with fully disengaged frontline staff…
Arrived around 8 and was told there would be a 20 minute wait while the restaurant was 40% capacity max. Open tables were everywhere… didn’t mind the wait so much but immediately but the bar tender ignored my party of 5 in hopes we would not be staying long. Finally I asked if they would help us and they obliged with a quick round of drinks, from that point forward the bartender did her best to ignore our group. This was a sign of things to come…
Waiting for our table, it was clear there was ample seating open, just not enough staff to cover the demand. When we were seated we were left to sit by ourselves for roughly 15 minutes. The bus boy gave our entire table waters, but said nothing to us and not due to any language barrier. The second time he came to our table we asked him, are you our waiter? He looked up at us and said «no, I am not your waiter, he will be here shortly.»
When our waiter did show up he didn’t greet us, ask how our night was going, apologize for taking 15 minutes to say anything he just asked us if we knew what we wanted to eat.
We thought, are we at Waffelhouse??? As it would turn out, we’ve had MUCH better customer service at Waffelhouse we just didn’t know how bad things would get.
Our waiting rushed off after we placed our order which included appetizers, alcohol, food etc. Another 10 minutes later what we think was the store manager dumped 3 seaweed salads off at the far end of our table and said «Here are those salads» and scrambled off, we reached over to pull them to ourselves and pass them around.
Next up, a round of appetizers were brought to our table by the bus boy, one of which wasn’t ours and he just dumped them on the other side of the table and mumbled «here you go» while walking off, head already turned away as we told him these aren’t ours sir…
Sitting here experiencing some of the worst waiting and restaurant management I’ve seen in my life I decided to take matters into my own hands and ask the waiter for our drinks. He seemed irritated, told me although we ordered a bottle of Sake, the bartender had to «make our drinks»???
A few minutes later, our Sake arrived, again it was dumped at our table, the 4 Sake cups left together, $ 45 dollar bottle of Sake, unopened, nothing poured for our table… again, Waffle house would do a better job the these jokers.
…this was the 2^nd time in roughly 30 minutes of being seated we had seen our waiter. He didn’t say anything, he just dumped the drinks off on the end of the table and said here you go guys and walked off!
Next up, our food came out by a barrage of bus boys running food, who had no idea who orderd what, the food was just auctioned off to whoever wanted whatever. The best part of this was watching one of my friends try to to eat their steak with a regular butter knife and chop stick because the waiter, never brought normal silverware out for those who were not eating sushi.
As we ate our meal the dishes had really started to pile up in the middle of the table, you would think any level of service at this point is non existent and you would be right. We started piling up the dirty dishes and scraps into the center of the table… waiting for our waiter to come back and he never did.
Keeping in mind this place is roughly 40% of capacity, around 9PM the music went from Contemporary whatever to EDM Club music at a VERY loud volume, now our table has to scream to communicate. This was a totally confusing move by the manager of the restaurant, I guess he figured why not pour gas on this fire, this place sucks lets make it as bad as we can with what we can control up here on the front line.
We all talked about walking the tab which is the wrong thing to do but considering we had not even seen their staff in ANOTHER 30 minutes and had a total of 3 conversations with our «Waiter» during our dining experience who knew when we’d get a bill.
Someone with our table grabbed our waiter as he was storming by and said hey can we get the check? He said sure guys, I hope you had a GREAT time tonight with this plastic enthusiasm that made us all laugh.
Despite all this, I still tipped 10% and I woke up this morning questioning why I did that at all…
Was it our mistake for going here knowing this place had terrible Unilocal reviews? Yes, I guess it was we thought we were going to have Sushi at RA but the wait looked longer than it was worth. Hindsight being ²⁰⁄₂₀ the wait would have been the same but the experience would have been worth it at RA or just about anywhere else with a good reputation on Unilocal.
Don’t go here unless you enjoy laughable dining experiences that remind you how terrible service can be. This place is a chemical fire, these jokers need to get real if they want to stay in business.

I’ve been venturing this place for about 4 months now. I’m ridiculously addicted to their Tower of Pisa (minus cucumber). The servers are always super nice and the service is usually pretty quick. SLIGHTLY on the pricey side ($ 13.95 for the tower), but that’s really not bad. That’s what you pay at most burger places anyway.
I also call in To-​Go all the time and the quality has never suffered. The place is also right around the block from me.
Good happy hour prices, too — Went there 2 days ago for happy hour and got 2 California rolls, 1 avocado roll (I usually request rice on the outside), and a tower of pisa for $ 32 (the tower isn’t on the HH menu).
Fitz Lauder DJs there on Saturday nights for a bit, too.

One of the first places I think of when I want sushi… great location and it’s never packed. Just a good crowd. Sometimes, like this time that I went to visit, they had live entertainment, a guitarist, who sang as well. Very mellow vibe.
When I DO come here, I ALWAYS get the Sunomono Salad. It’s got huge chunks of sweet crab, tender octopus, fresh cucumbers and it’s marinated in the tangy, but sweet and light sauce. Definitely one of my favorites. I couldn’t leave without getting sushi though, so I kept it simple and got the California Roll, which was STUFFED with lots of crab. Always a go to.
Our waiter was very nice, always checked on us, made sure we were taken care of at all times… really cool guy!
