Studio 22 is the premier ballroom dance studio in the Dallas area, drawing top instructors to the Dallas area, and students from all over the Dallas/​Fort Worth metroplex. The brainchild of Michelle Hafle and Sergey Korshunov, Studio 22 is modeled after the most successful dance studio in Los Angeles, and caters to beginning through competitive level students. Ranked Dallas A-List’s «Best Dance Studio» for 3 consecutive years (2010, 2011 & 2013), featured in D Weddings, and a Programming Partner for Klyde Warren Park, Studio 22 is also the studio of choice for Dallas-​area competitors on ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ With over 100 group classes taught every month, as well as weekly social events, Studio 22 is committed to providing quality, affordable instruction in a fun, positive environment.

All of our highly-​trained instructors are experts in their field of dance and are passionate about the specific style they teach. (Styles include Ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Swing, Country/​Western, & more!)

Studio 22 also provides private instruction, wedding lessons, date night classes, pro performances, ballroom rentals, event services, & corporate programs.

History

Established in 2009.

Sergey Korshunov and Michelle Hafle created Studio 22 to provide a fun and positive environment where people can go to get the best dance instruction at an affordable rate.

Sergey and Michelle are current professional competitors in the International Latin American division, and travel all over the world competing in the most prestigious competitions. Together they are ranked two-​time U.S. Professional Rising Star Latin Finalists and 2009, 2010 & 2011 British Open Rising Star Quarterfinalists.

The partners have been invited to perform both locally and internationally. Hired by Mark Cuban, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith to provide private lessons and choreography in conjunction with their appearances on DWTS, Michelle & Sergey were also invited to be the official commentators for the ABC’s Dancing With the Stars show by WFAA’s Good Morning Texas (2006 & 2007), and in 2008 and 2009 they were invited to dance on Baile Deportivo, aired on Fox Latino Sport.

Sergey began dancing at the age of nine as an Amateur and eventually in 1998 he gained the title of St. Petersburg Standard Champion in his division and the following year he received an award as the top Latin couple. In 2007 Nike hired Sergey to choreograph and perform at one of their exclusive events with Carrie Ann Inaba.

Michelle was involved in several commercials and music videos prior to her partnership with Sergey. In 2004 she was hired by ABC Family to be a contestant on a dance reality series, Dance Fever. There she was able to work with Carrie Ann Inaba, Carman Electra and MC Hammer. She also performed at such events as the Los Angeles Salsa Congress and was hired as a permanent dancer for Wayne Foster’s National Entertainment Company.

Together, they compete and perform locally, nationally, and internationally, and are ranked two-​time U.S. Professional Rising Star Latin Finalists and 2009 British Open Rising Star Quarterfinalists.
