Yeah, no. Sampler platter of ruins, brisket n sausage, multiple sides n dessert — I won’t be back.

I love their chopped beef sandwich. They give a generous amount of meat on a sesame seed bun. It’s deeee-licious. I ordered it with their baked potato and that was a meal in itself — topped with lots of cheese, bacon, green onions, butter & sour cream. I’m not s fan of their green beans(mushy and way over booked /but that may be a regional thing — but they’re not even green anymore). I order ‘to go’ and I like the staff is friendly and go through the order with you. I can’t tell you how many times on to go orders restaurants get it wrong or leave something out. Pecan pie is very good too. Today I was craving their baked potato for lunch. When I picked it up I was a bit surprised at the price($ 6.25) and I questioned«why» so much, I found out that when I ordered my yummy sandwich it was basically a side — so I paid the additional $ 3 for a sandwich and the potato — one for lunch today and 1 tomorrow if I have the willpower not to devour it today. I’ve never eaten inside or ordered other things but I will try in the future other items.

I ordered the beef dinner with potato salad and green beans. I was disappointed in the overcooked green beans. Potato salad was bland mayo/mustard mushy potato mix-it was more like mashed potato salad. However, I didn’t get a lot of it. Rather than scooping the potato salad into one of the takeout containers sections, the server put it in a smaller cup in the takeout container. What a waste of packaging-I would have felt more cheated except the potato salad didn’t taste good enough to want extra portions. The green beans were also packed into the same small serving cup. Overcooked green beans had some pepper to give it some flavor. Again –what a waste of excess packaging and a cheap way to provide smaller portions. I’d suggest that they save money by not using the small styrofoam cups(not very environmentally friendly) and give customers better portions for your sides. The beef was good but probably only received ¼ lb – I get better portions at Sonny Bryan’s. I like the Spring Creek BBQ sauce but the server only provided 3 tablespoons so it barely added any flavor to the beef. Finally, the banana pudding was the high point of the meal. The banana pudding was more than twice the size of the potato salad. Tasted great. So, when you are hungry, get the banana pudding at Spring Creek, then get the ¾ lb dinner at Sonny Bryan’s BBQ. I give Spring Creek BBQ one star for the banana pudding.

Best ribs in town… not the best BBQ but they are the best ribs. Great flavor, very tender and meaty I think Spring Creek is a very good restaurant overall and if you have a valpak coupon its the best deal in DFW Great lunch special…$ 9.99

Good BBQ and sides, but I give it 1 star for customer service. I have eaten here for years, and went today for lunch to grab take out for myself and a co-worker. I had to wait for almost 5 minutes for my order to be taken because the girl was too worried about getting the Christmas lights untangled. I was literally 8 feet from her and she totally ignored me. She finally took my order and I asked for a couple of the rolls that they were passing around to the dine in customers. I was told they were only for customers eating at the restaurant, if I wanted any rolls I would have to pay for them. If I would have had more time, I would have cancelled my order and gone somewhere else, but needed to get back to work. My order was brought pretty quickly by another employee. I signed my credit card receipt and put my phone number at the bottom, and asked for a call from the manager to discuss the roll policy. He never said a word to me, and another African American gentleman standing there just stared at me. So, I get back to work, and there was no butter in the bag, even though we had ordered corn on the cob. Also, no forks or spoons or napkins. As of 7:30pm no call from the manager. I would think with all the negative reviews on Unilocal about this establishment, they would try a little harder. They just lost my personal business, and our corporate business. Best of luck Spring Creek, I will be going elsewhere for BBQ from now on.

Wow, just awful. We practically ran out of there. The sauce is not good, the meat is not good(we had sausage, the tiniest ribs I’ve ever seen – I’m not convinced they were pork, turkey, and brisket and liked none of it). The warm rolls are great and I suspect that’s the gimmick that keeps them afloat. If you do have to go, at least leave room for dessert to get the taste of everything else out of your mouth.

Not so good — no smoke flavor. Atmosphere was nice but barbecue was not up to par. Meat was tender but the sauce was ok and just no smoke flavor.

The negative reviews floor me! I’ve been coming here for years and it’s absolutely delicious every time. The hot buttery rolls are to die for. Maybe literally ;)

It was a bit scary… They had jello for a dessert. Is this a regional thing? On a serious note, I tried pulled pork but it was a bit dry. Their BBQ sauces were overly suite, like eating molasses. They offer returns on «vegetables,» but selection included only potato salad, coleslaw, corn, and overcooked green beans…

Customer service is very poor. Employees aren’t willing to answer questions. Food is very mediocre for the price. Too many good BBQ places in Dallas to make going here make any sense.

The meat is reliably good, with okay vegetables and excellent bread. The restrooms could use more attention and service has been poor in the past. During the last month I decided to give it a chance despite previous disappointments and I am happy to say they now have cheerful people who speak English taking orders. Today they surprised me by having someone come by the table and offer drink refills.

Food: I love the huge baked potatoes, rolls are buttery and big and the bbq sauce is tangy with a little kick. Their ribs are usually overcooked. Customer service: the manager of this place needs to b fired. They don’t welcome u like some of their other locations. We walked in and there were 3 people working on a to go order. We stood in front of them for literally 3 our 4 minutes without even a hello or I’ll b right with u. I looked at my gf and asked if we were ghosts. I think the guy finally heard me and barely whispered that he would be right with me. We both got our usual chopped beef plate. The beef was dry and mine was a smaller portion compared to hers. Lastly, I went to get a box and the girl looked like she wanted nothing to do with being there. Bad employees are a reflection of the management and I will never go back to this location.

Walked in to a very unfriendly atmosphere from the cook to the head manager. It took a while before anyone took my order at the counter no friendly greeting. I’m a people person and believe one should be friendly & polite to their customers. I felt as if I was evading their space not one friendly hi how are you or smile. The manager or the. person running business needs to liven the place up with positive vibes and with a Texas greeting. The food was okay. The quality of food could be better. However, I did enjoy the fresh baked bread.

Basically, stick to the ribs and baked potatoes. Everything else is subpar. When I went, they served skimpy little ribs but, they were still good.

I have no idea why our hotel would recommend this place. Should have known better when we walked into a near empty restaurant. Dry meat, store bought tasting sides, and nasty servers. I’ve never been to this chain, and my out of state colleagues hadn’t either and the servers ignored us for several minutes before telling us the sides are self serve. The cashier was sweet, everyone else was lazy and worthless. Being from Texas, I was embarrassed by this poor attempt at bbq. Fortunately, they didn’t know the difference.

It was fine, but I have no urge to go back. Atmosphere was like a cafeteria. Food was bleh — not amazing flavor or freshness. And prices weren’t amazing.

We eat here often and Tuesday night we invited some out of town friends to join us for what we thought would be an enjoyable evening of good bar b q. That did not happen. As we entered the establishment too many of the employees were just standing around and talking and certainly not attending to customers. Three of us ordered the rib platters and I thought they would never get those ribs cut and placed on a plate. In fact the first person doing the cutting left for some reason and just left us standing there. The ribs looked as though they had been sitting for quite some time. i declined the sauce but did accept the roll. That piece of bread was so hard you could drive a nail with it. must have been sitting there for hours. Started down the cafeteria line to fill my plate with the veggies. The corn looked OK, the slaw has been sitting for a time and there were pieces of slaw all over the front of the line where earlier customers had«missed their plate». The potato salad looked a little dried out so I dug to the bottom to see if I could get some fresher. Only took a few green beans and later wished I had not taken any. The rest of the condiments were about the same as the earlier finds, I have been writing about. Went to our table and found the food just was not what it usually is at a Spring Creek. The bread person came around offering us fresh hot bread and I was glad to exchange the hard piece I had been given while in line, that was fresh. I was surprised and the one she gave me as also very hard. Others though in the group got nice warn soft rolls. At this point I did not have clue as to what was happening. After dinner one in the party suggested some peach cobbler. Wish I had not agree, however I did and went to the counter to get soem peach cobbler and ice cream. I noted the top of the cobbler looked like it was dried out and had been sitting for a while The counter person suggested I pay for the cobbler and return to me seat and she would bring the cobbler to all four of us. Then I saw her literally scraping the bottom of the pan. My concern was correct, as the food had been sitting for quite a spell and was actually stuck to the bottom of the pan. This had to be the worst meal we have ever eaten in 30 some years at Spring Creek and only because the food was not freshly cooked. We entered around 5:45PM and I am certain this was food left from lunch.

Don’t eat here unless you receive the buy one get one free coupon from Valpack. My family eats here monthly, and receive consistently good BBQ here. By no means would I compare this place with Pecan Lodge, or ANYBBQ place in Austin. But if you want ribs, but don’t want to drive or stand in long lines, then this works. We always go for the ribs. There have been times where the ribs were fat and juicy, and other times dry and skimpy. I cant guarantee the best BBQ experience, but I generally have a good time. I love their sauce for some reason. But make sure you ask for extra sauce when they hand you your plate. The pool of sauce they offer by the sides is not the same quality. Their rolls are so delicious. I eat them by the barrel, at the expense of my health. If you do order sides, go with a baked potato. Everything else is crap, and trust me when I say that. I must repeat myself when I say have a coupon. Its a great way to save money. This is the only BBQ chain I go to on a regular basis. Dickeys, Colberts, and Sonny Bryans is crap. Spring Creek is NOT the best, but help out when I have Austin BBQ Blues.

Ok so I’m from Seattle and maybe not qualified to rate BBQ joints in Texas, but I thoroughly enjoyed lunch here. Some colleagues took me here and it was conveniently close to our hotel. I got the combination plate and did chicken, ribs and pepper sausage. Here’s how I would rank them: 1. Chicken — so smoky and so flavorful; the clear winner 2. Pepper Sausage — pretty damn tasty, but haunted my breath for the next 5 hours 3. Ribs — good, but would probably have traded these for something else The sides were all serviceable. Green beams were my fave of the bunch. If you’re in from out of town and looking for a tasty Texas BBQ experience I think this place is solid.
