Apparently this is the best Tex Mex in town. I didn’t really like it myself to be honest. the chicken lunch was a bit sweet and sticky.

tiny and cramped, this little(hole in the wall doesn’t really cut it here, ti stands all by itself) blip on the map seems very popular, and on my first trip i resorted to the easy choice of a pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw on the side. Slaw was very tasty, pulled pork was also quite good. Nothing incredibly special about the whole, but the ribs there looked amazing and will definitely be going back for some of those. Also, it’s cheap and relatively quick, although you may wait in line a bit before placing your order.

Birthday’s are great for several reasons; one being all the comp meals received from registering with various restaurant email clubs. So, coupon in hand for a free sandwich plate, I head to SB’s. Nice friendly counter service upon arrival around 1530. Only patron in the place. Ordered a brisket sandwich with mac & cheese and fried okra. Took a seat with my Kindle and food was promptly delivered piping hot. Sandwich was the star of the meal. The brisket was moist, very tender with a perfect smoky flavor. Their slightly spicy sauce is served warm in Corona beer bottles. Yes, I love to drench my beef and bun in lots of sauce; like it sloppy & messy. Their bun is not the typical hamburger bun; it seems baked in house or from a local bakery, not sure about that, but it is better than most served @ other BBQ spots. Sandwich with a generous serving of that luscious protein earns a strong 4 stars :) Sides were at best meh :(The mushy mac and cheese was crusty on top as if it had been in the pan too long under the warming light. Kraft out of the box is better. Most left on the plate. The okra was perfectly fried and tender, but lacked any seasoning. Even adding lots of salt didn’t bring this usually favorite side up to par. A little spice, perhaps a dash of Cayenne & some onion powder added to the batter would have made a world of difference. BLAND :(I’ll be enticed to try other sides on my next visit. I did notice that they have some pretty decent lunch specials during the week; pork ribs for around ten dollars. Might check that out next time. Overall, visit was not a total loss. It was a complimentary meal with good brisket and sauce, and I made a further dent in reading my current book :) Next stops for complimentary dining — Blue Mesa for Sunday brunch and Boston Gourmet Pizza for flatbread & Chamberlain’s for some delish jewels from the sea.. Yum, got lots of eating in my future this next week!

Had it delivered while in town for work, so, may have missed out on the«fresh off the pit» factor, if there is one at the restaurant. Nevertheless, the behemoth mixed platter of brisket, ribs, jalapeño sausage, fried okra, and mac n cheese was, well, pretty delicious. And probably life shortening. Specifically, the brisket was awesome, and, the jalapeño sausage played nice with the crunchy and steamy okra. The mac n cheese was as it should be… honestly, who can bitch about mac n cheese? The ribs were fine, but don’t stand out.

Pretty good BBQ. I like their fresh rolls that they bring around. If you are a baked potato fan, they do also make a pretty good baked potato and one of their weekly specials(I can’t remember which day of the week) is actually a «meat tator» which is not for the feint of heart. Their BBQ sauce is decent but not amazing. I think the restaurant has a good feel on the inside.

Headed here with my husband and the kids. I love the warmed sauce… it always makes everything better. The chopped beef and sliced brisket are both pretty good. My hubby enjoys the ribs, but the last time we went my hand was broke and I thought it best not to try to eat ribs and get sauce all over my broken hand. ;-) The dinner rolls are quite tasty… especially when they are fresh out of the oven! Yum!

The dinner role’s were the best thing on plate. There was no one in the place at 8pm. The beef ribs were flavourless. Just terrible.

My bro and roommate decided that we needed to take advantage of Sonny Bryan’s All You Can Eat Pork Ribs on Tuesdays today. I had told them that I just recently had a late lunch, but basically forced me to join them for an early dinner. Still full from lunch, I could only down one round of the pork ribs. However, my eating buddies more than enough made up for my slack and went to town on their ribs. I think the workers back there were thinking my bro was an endless pit. The ribs tasted fine and meat fell of the bone just with a tug of my teeth. I think the ribs were kept hot right before ordering, but they put grill marks on it right before serving. Hot and crispy! The rolls were hot and buttery, but extra butter on my rolls isn’t ever a problem. As for my sides I had the mac and cheese which was good hot. If you order this, eat while hot or it just looks gross if you let it cool. I also had the fried okra. Okay okra, the batter was on a little thick which made it really crunchy. I’m a fan of the light batter on the okra. Since we were basically the only group eating here, getting more ribs for our eat-like-a-glutton-rib-fest was no hassle. Oh, if Pork Ribs aren’t your thing, they have All You Can Eat Beef Ribs on Mondays.

Maybe not the best bbq in Dallas but this location is quite good. The brisket had a really nice smoky flavor to it and the hot rolls that they offer you repeatedly are good as well. I also had pulled pork which as OK but nothing special. One of my friends also had sausage and insisted it was among the best smoked sausage he had had in the DFW area. Nice, roomy location as well.

Wow– this location impressed me and the GF to no end last night. After a long, exhausting week of work and other errands etc etc etc, we were driving back down Preston and wanted some seriously home cooked tastin’ food. We almost just«settled» onto this place as I have had a bad experience at one of their other locations(think it was off the Tollway somewhere up north). I ordered the ¾ lb plate and the GF had the ½ pound. They have a hot hot hot jalapeño sausage, tender sliced brisket and their AMAZING smoked ham. I chose spicy beans and FF as my sides and were pleased that both came out steaming hot, indicating a fresh batch. This is at 8pm mind you! I should have chosen their smoked chicken as one of the meats– the GF got a full ½ pound of that and man it was so good. The smoky flavor was kickin’ and it was juicy, as compared to a dry which usually occurs when you can BBQ chicken. She also got Mac n Cheese and green bean casserole. She gave the Mac N Cheese pretty high ratings, but it didn’t touch Bone Daddy’s awesomeness. Food was out in less than 7 min. and the roll was hittin’ the right spot too… Just hot and fresh enough to tear apart in your hands and great for soaking up their warm BBQ sauce. I wept tears of joy when I left. I had given up on Sonny’s. God’s BBQ was back in Texas. Thank you sweet baby Jesus.

I know the purists may hang me for saying this, but I liked this Sonny Bryan’s better than the Original on Inwood. Here’s why: 1. I didn’t have to eat at a school desk. 2. Hot rolls. 3. Everything wasn’t covered in years of greasy, saucy, rib-lickin fingerprints. 4. The BBQ was just as good(possibly better). RIBS: 4 stars. I possibly had the greatest rib of my life today. The meat was juicy, tender, and melting off the bone. This was amplified by Sonny’s perfect BBQ sauce. Truly a 5 star rib. However, I give the ribs 4 stars overall for consistency. A few of them were a little drier, a little tougher, a little more charred. But the perfect rib set the bar pretty high. ONIONRINGS: 5 stars. I’m pretty sure an entire onion was used to make my 3 onion rings. Thick batter. Perfect. GREENBEANCASSEROLE: 2 stars. No thank you. Too much pepper, and some of the beans were hard. ROLLS: 5 stars. Can you really screw up fresh hot rolls drizzled with honey?
