The atmosphere is outstandingly vivacious and classy. I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to friends and colleagues on travel and Dallas newcomers.

We arrived at 11:00PM and it was already crazy packed. Majority 50+ age bracket and the additional«professional» mixed in. Great people watching but that’s about it. Nice lounge seating if there is any open, bathrooms are nice and very spacious. The drinks were not as bad as a lot of people are mentioning I did not think. Free valet is a plus but its pretty gross in there with all the sleezy old men and«hot young things» ready to do anything for a dollar.

Polite and courteous staff. Heavy handed drinks. Free valet. Non pretentious crowd. The only complaint I have is the difference in price of drinks from one bartender to the next.

Great patio. Pricey but that’s to be expected from the hotel bar at The Ritz. Great people watching. Lots of pros.

I absolutely love The Ritz and Rattlesnake Bar! The bartenders are phenomenal! I have some of the best drinks here! I love the chairs and the patio outside! Also a great place to meet new people. The staff and valet is outstanding!

Meh. It was ok. It is another hotel bar with interesting people watching(trendy 40-something crowd). The servers/bartenders did a great job and were friendly. The atmosphere/energy was just kind of blah. I would prefer hotel ZaZa for a crowd-watcher and mingling. I just wish more people would talk to each other and be more friendly.

It’s not necessarily bad and the staff is always very professional but I was not that impressed. If you are just going to get the same thing here as you would anywhere else I have no doubt it would be well done. They have an amazing selection of bottles from around the world but I can’t help but think you would have to provide the recipe, I could be wrong. I feel bad giving it a two star but for the price I can’t go much higher. I don’t think it will hurt their bottom line all that much though. I get the feeling they are not too worried about losing clientele.

I love good drinks and even better people watching, but lately this place has fallen short. On a recent Saturday evening I sat down at one of the tables right near the doorway. It wasn’t busy. My party waited, and waited, and waited. We were looking forward to those tacos and margaritas. The waitresses were gossiping with each other, but not attending to guests. So, I approached one of them(blonde) and requested a menu and service. She rolled her eyes in the back of her head and threw the menus at my party. Whoa! Not exactly what I expect at a Ritz Carlton bar and a Dean Fearing venue. Not cool. Even worse, she never came back. We left. I’m sure l’ll return, but I hope they are upgrading staff and doing a better job managing. There are plenty of other Dallas hot spots.

um. no. I was looking forward to coming here after hearing it’s a «classier crowd» and a great place for happy hour. apparently I should have ONLY come during happy hour and not at 10 pm on a Saturday. a few FYI’s for newbies: 1. sloppy drunk middle aged people literally STUMBLING all over the place. 2. hookers everywhere. 3. rude people everywhere. 4. overpriced underpoured drinks. if these points weren’t bad enough, we waited outside for over 30 minutes for our car in valet. every single person who came out after us got their car before us, and only after going to the valet stand TWICE did they pick up the keys, even though they had our tickets, we told them exactly which car we were in, and were the last ones standing. maybe if I was being paid by the hour and parked my beat up benz I would have gotten it faster? whoops. 5. more hookers. 6. no thanks. 7. ew.

i’m not much of a drinker, but when i do like to get my drink on, i like to dance, too! THISPLACEHASFREEVALET! this makes up for the expensive drinks. the bartenders are really classy folks, too. after not getting my drink on for a while, my girlfriend convinced me to let loose and just have fun. i didn’t realize the ritz carlton’s bar would be so cool, but it sho is! i like the crowd here. diverse, late 20s to 50s-ish. fancy people who have weddings at the ritz have guests who like to dance. so there’s a bar area, an outdoor lounge area, and a dance floor inside with a dj who likes to jam to old school hip hop! can it get any better than this?

In the most non-pretentious way possible, this bar was one of my favorites while at SMU. Yes, the crowd is older, but I prefer older-aged bars like this one, and the Loon. I’ve been multiple times with my only girlfriend who likes to get out of the SMU scene and we never leave without memories, or numbers, or both. The drinks aren’t cheap, duh, it’s the Ritz. But, they use quality liquor and have exemplary bartenders/waitstaff. Also the seating area is gorgeous, the vibe is always refreshing, in my opinion. And if you’re lucky, you’ll run into George Lopez just outside of the Rattlesnake with his crew, like we did last year. It was fun times. Anyways, JJ, the young bartender used to be the best, but he recently left and moved to Austin, so I have no idea how the new kid behind the bar is. Lastly, be prepared to valet if you’re driving here, unless you’re cabbing it from elsewhere, which is way easier, btw. *Don’t dress like an SMU bimbo if you are indeed an SMU girl planning on dropping by. The crowd will know and wonder why in the hell you’re at the Ritz in college. ;)

For a hotel bar, this place was happening on a Saturday night. Bar was super crowded, with a diverse group of young and old people. Dance floor around the corner was fairly full too. Plenty of seating to sit, chat and people watch. Only negative is the drinks are pretty pricey, but with no cover or line it’s worth a visit.

A visit to the Dallas’ blingy Ritz Carlton alone is worth a visit to this bar, just take a left through the lobby, you’ll feel like a princess(or prince) in minutes. Our bartender, Alere, like the jet he said, was sexy and down to earth. Side rooms with comfy chairs and tables make this a choice chill mid week daytime spot to chill in secret with your favorite homey. Bring cash cause I don’t think happy hour is a practised phrase here. You’ll feel like a millionaire.

I know that I am long overdue on writing about this, but never late than never lol. If you like to see the glitz and glamour, the flashiest and money-flaunting scene of Dallas, then look no further than the Rattlesnake Bar at the Ritz in Uptown. The only flop about this place is that the name of the bar does not do much justice in appealing to the newcomers/debut customer and the drinks can put a real hole in my wallet($ 13 per glass of wine — yikes!) I loved the outdoor patio, the décor of the lounge, and a pretty good size dance floor. Interesting mix of crowd — from the 20-something debutantes to the senior multi-billionaires hobnobbing with celebs. This is pretty much one of the rare hot spots to dance and people-watch AND better — there is no cover and no charge on valet parking. I hope that they don’t start charging people to come in the future.

Located in the Ritz-Carlton…This is a nice place. I always love all the beautiful flowers at the entrance. I have come here with a friend of mine who absolutely loves it. We hang in the outdoor area where there is plenty of room to lounge and chill with friends. The bartenders out there, Cedric & Ryan, are the best! Jaime(indoors) is also very good. Ced & Ryan both make specialty concoctions. Drinks are pricy. I observed one woman order a $ 17 mojito. They just opened a dance area within the past 2 – 3 weeks. I think they are still feeling out DJ’s. It was nice, though. I love the chandelier in there. The crowd is usually middle aged to older than that with plenty of money. LOL. It can be quite a show in itself when the older crowd is plastered! LMAO! I like hanging here just to have a drink & chat w/the girls…& watch silly older drunks. :P Parking: valet

If you want to grab a drink and have a conversation with a few friends, this is the type of place. Not only is it located inside of a really great hotel in downtown but it is nicely appointed in a southwestern décor in a luxury sway. Sure they have all the bottled beers of Texas, but they also have a great selection of house drinks which are reasonably priced and the house made lemon-liquor is not bad at all. The people were your average Joe’s for sure, people were looking pretty, like they thought about what they were going to wear in a slightly conservative but upscale manner. The nuts are really good too.

We came here before our Restaurant Week reservation at Fearing’s this year. After reading the other reviews, I am wondering if maybe we missed some of it? I was kind of surprised at how small the area was; just the bar and a couple couches/tiny tables scattered around it. It sounds like there is a patio area as well. Complimentary nuts! Those were good. The bartender was obviously swamped so I don’t think we experienced normal service, but he was as friendly as could be expected given the situation. I’m a fan of hotel bars and while I enjoyed this one, the minus one star is for the fact that at the time, I didn’t really feel like I was in a bar, more just like the waiting area for the restaurant. I’ll have to go back and check it out again. The four stars are mostly for the jalapeño capirinhas I had. Damn, now that is a good drink. I totally owe Rattlesnake Bar for my newfound addiction to spicy drinks. The last one I had was the spiciest of all – there was a half a jalapeño floating on top, seeds and all!!! That may have been a little excessive, but nonethess it ranks among the top drinks I’ve had!
