If your looking for super sweet frozen treats Come here, the cookies are alright a bit to hard for my liking but not chewy hard. The ice cream is also nothing special average flavors reasonably priced place though. I think it’s the perfect place for kids, the concept is great for them.

Wonderful ice cream sandwiches that you can customize to your liking. I had them come and serve at one of my events, and it was very reasonably priced with excellent service. Would highly recommend for events and parties.

Good ice cream shop! You can get cookies, ice cream, or make a cookie ice cream sandwich. My favorite is the taco ice cream. Because we live in Texas & love tacos :)

This place has a great concept, I loved the idea of a cookie sandwich shop. I definitely wish there was a little more creativity. You walk in, it’s cutely decorated like a small ice cream diner. So cute!
Unfortunately the Ice cream sandwich wasn’t special. I expected the ice cream options to be a little more creative. Very basic, not the best options. Toppings were so so, not very unique. Marble slab and cold stone have much better options because they’re an ice cream shop. Cookies were alright, noting special. I enjoyed my cookie sandwich but it was very messy, Ice cream wasn’t cold enough to hold itself. Cookie crumbled, maybe if the cookies were a little softer it would have kept its structure and easier to bite. The flavor of the cookie was basic. Let down by that.
Another let down-​Pretzels. They have pretzels on the wall with a giant pretzel logo (so right away-​I assumed they’d be great!), and then I see them on the menu, so I expected them to have really yummy homemade hot pretzels and luckily the guy working told us they weren’t good because I would have been upset to waste my money on a crappy pretzel.
If the cookies had been rolled in sprinkles or chocolate chips or something on the edges maybe it would have been more enjoyable? Not sure. I personally didn’t fall in love enough to say I really enjoyed the experience. If there were changes I would definitely be a returning customer.

It’s cookies and ice cream. Can’t really speak much about it. I had the snickerdoodle with pistachio almond ice cream. The cookie was good. The ice cream was good. I think $ 3.78 is pretty reasonable.
Side note: I was visiting from California and was a bit disappointed that they no longer carry Blue Bell ice cream. They said they didn’t want to take a chance with offering the ice cream after the recall. I totally understand being a small mom and pop shop.

Hmm… not worth the calories. My husband and I had the state fair cookie sandwich. As far as size, it was huge, with 3 scoops of ice cream. We chose chocolate, cookies and cream, and butter pecan. I’m not sure what ice cream their using, but whatever it is, it ain’t bluebell my friend. The cookie was actually rather good, and the hubby says the butter pecan was decent but the chocolate and cookies and cream tasted like no such thing. We wanted to like this place, it was cute, it was close and it was open. The cost was too high and I am not even going to mention my shake because nope not doing that ever again.

The cookies and ice cream were DELICIOUS! I got a coconut chocolate chip/​vanilla ice cream sandwich. I wish the cookies were a bit warmer, but it was still some delicious noms. Our server was a bit on the «blah» side, and he seemed like he hated working there, but he was still tolerable enough.

Drove 20 minutes to go to this place based on its decent Unilocal reviews, and the fact that I like supporting local places.
There wasn’t much of an ice cream selection at all. Cookies looked old and unappetizing. When I told the employee on duty that we might need a second to look at the menu since it was our first time there, he sarcastically said, «It’s just ice cream and cookies» and didn’t offer any further help. It was one of the few times I wanted to walk out of a place before ordering just based on service. Definitely won’t be back.

Looking for ice cream on my visit while in Dallas. First time at this chain. Really basic selection of cookies and ice cream. Nothing to get excited over. Like 16 flavors of ice cream. What was really sad was the obvious lack of enthusiasm from the only worker who walked out of the back after we walked in. He left the counter unattended in between customers as we ate. Very easily forgettable

Gave 3 stars but could’ve been 4. We went in at 9:30pm and they were near closing and no one was there. Being our first visit I have nothing to base it on other than reviews. We order 2 state fair cookies, 4 snicker doodles, a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of «Pokey Tracks». The cookies were great; Warm, crisp, and soft. The ice cream, however, was rather mediocre. As we were leaving, just before close, a large group of people came in. I feel if it were earlier in the day, not so close to closing, things may have been better. Other than the «okay» ice cream I enjoyed the visit. The young man at the counter was very nice and very helpful.

I was excited to come but was not that impressed. I got an ice cream sandwich with vanilla ice cream. It was good but it was a little bit of a let down.

I went to Pokey-O’s with my best friend one night, I had wanted to try it after seeing it on a ‘best ice cream’ type list. My first thought when I walked in was that it was such a cute, fun place! Reminded me of an old timey ice cream shop, and not only that, they sold other things too-​like puppy chow, soda and popcorn! You could even buy a Pokey-O’s t-​shirt!
I decided to build my own ice cream sandwich with Maple Pecan cookies and chocolate ice cream. The cookies were perfect! Just the way I like cookies, a little crispy but super soft in the middle, I loved them. The flavor was perfect, sweet but not too much, nutty, I loved them.
The whole concept of creating your own ice cream sandwich is brilliant. It’s so fun to choose and make it your own. Although it’s around $ 4 for the ice cream sandwich, it’s a pretty decent size and you get what you pay for. I definitely thought the value was good.
I would absolutely go back, I loved it!

Amazing ice cream & cookies! Got a sugar cookie with coffee ice cream and another chocolate chip cookie. The cookies are super soft and you can tell they are very fresh.

Pokey O is the best ice cream around. They serve Blue Bell, which you would think is boring, but there’s lots of choices and the quality is always good. The cookies are baked perfectly, not over-​done (Crème de la Cookie) or half-​raw (JD’s), and you can get a scoop and a cookie for about $ 3. Good deal.

Love, love, love this concept. Basically, it’s a build your own ice cream sandwich place. Or, in my opinion, an example of total genius.
You walk in and are greeted with a wall of cookies about the size of the palm of your hand, of which you can pick two different flavors for your top and bottom halves. I went with a classic white chocolate macadamia nut and some sort of cappuccino/​chocolate cookies as my base. The ice cream flavors are your classic Blue Bell options, from which I went with a chocolate peanut butter ice cream. In seconds, my perfectly portioned, custom ice cream sandwich was presented to me in a cute little bag. For just under $ 4, this is a reasonable treat. Also have to give a shout out to the super friendly cashier manning the place the day I was working. He was so cheerful and made my visit extra pleasant.
I agree with some of the other reviewers that the cookies were just a touch underwhelming. It looks like they’ve fixed their cookie over-​crunchiness issues, as the cookies were just perfectly pliable to serve as an ice cream sandwich base upon my visit. However, the flavor was just slightly industrial rather than homemade, reminding me of those Pepperidge Farm giant chocolate chunk cookies. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing (I love me some Pepperidge Farm), but if the cookie quality was stepped up ever so slightly, this would be an easy five star review. Maybe they could look at outsourcing the cookies from nearby Village Baking Company? Now *that* combo would be an easy five star treat!

Stopped here thanks to a deal on the app Popular Pays. It’s a fun concept – pick your cookies and pick your ice cream for a personalized ice cream sandwich. Cookies and ice cream were both great and tasty.

Pokey O’s is the best! I had some friends visiting from California who wanted some ice cream sandwiches, so I knew they would love this place.
One of my friends got the rainbow vanilla ice cream in between 2 chocolate chip cookies. The colors in it made here teeth blue and we were all cracking up. It was hilarious!
I love pecans, so I got the butter pecan ice cream in between 2 maple pecan cookies. OMG SO MUCH PECAN GOODNESS.
This place has great food, service, prices, and cleanliness. Go get some ice cream sandwiches now! :)

We had the ice cream Taco thingy.
A little pricey but the taste was good.

How I’ve heard of you, Pokey O’s! Creamy ice cream sandwiches between two slabs of deliciousness known to mankind as «cookies,» oh yum ^^ I had my first ice cream sandwich cookie here, and it was pretty good.
The concept is fantastic, and being located by SMU, I can see why it’s popular. However, the ice cream isn’t anything mind-​blowing (Bluebell’s), and the cookies are mediocre. But really, how can you make a bad cookie? :P Overall, my sugar rush treat was a happy break in the day when we conveniently dropped by after swimming at SMU’s pool, but I wouldn’t travel a distance to come again.
The slight negatives aside, the worker there was extremely nice and patient us! There’s a display of maybe ten flavors of cookies, including the Texas State Fair cookie this month (it was ginormous). He told us that the chocolate chip cookie is the most popular, but his favorite is the iced sugar cookie (and I ignored both suggestions and got snickerdoodle instead, haha ^^’). I opted for cookies and cream ice cream between two snickerdoodle cookies (a little less than $ 4). Delish! It’s served in a bag, and there is water from a soda fountain available. Hmm. I wonder if you can get two different cookies for the sandwich!
Family friendly! Some families dropped by, and it’s cute to watch children get super excited for the treats~ the ice cream waffle tacos seem to be popular (in the fridge up front) :) but if you’re not feeling daring, you can go classic and get Bluebell ice cream in a cup or waffle cone as well!

I was very excited to find an ice cream sandwich shop in a new area.
The shop is very small and focuses on cookies, ice cream and popcorn of all things.
The cookie flavors are basic and are all appealing. The bluebell ice cream flavors are great too. The ice cream sandwiches are slightly smaller than other shops and come in at just under $ 4 each.
My biggest complaint has got to be what others have pointed out as well; hard crumbly cookies!!! They are so hard that your entire scoop of ice cream will fly screaming out of the back of the sandwich! I recommend a spoon and cookies on the side.
I had very good service during my visit.

I stopped here yesterday when the weather was a gorgeous 60 degrees. My husband and I got a waffle cone with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. I also got a Texas State Fair cookie and my husband got a semi sweet chocolate chip cookie. For around $ 8, it was not a bad deal. We thought about getting an ice cream cookie sandwich, but the cookies look a little small. I felt like we got the best bang for our buck with the option we chose.

I was highly disappointed with this place. The steps are pretty simple; choose your two cookies and the ice cream you want in the middle. What I didn’t like about the cookies is that they were hard. When you try to eat your ice cream sandwich all the ice cream comes out because you can’t even bite the cookie. The pictures on Unilocal are really deceiving. If you like hard cookies with blue bell ice cream in the middle then this is your place.
