Doctor was so quick to just move on to the next patient. He spent a total of 5 minutes with me and took no time to listen to my concerns. So much so that I had to come back a second time because he had gotten my prescription wrong the first time.
They also blow up your email, phone and any of your relatives contact info with their automatic reschedule system.
Needless to say I will not be coming back.

I can not thank the Eye Doctor and his staff enough for sqeezing me in when I had a serious eye medical crisis on Xmas day.
I was not even a patient and they called me back the next day which was a Sat literally the day after after Xmas and told me to come in now and saw me immediately.
They were the ONLY eye place to call me back the next day and I called 10 places.
The Eye Doctor is excellent and did a very thorough exam and explained every aspect of my eye issue and he has seen me twice again in follow up visits.
The staff is terrific and funny and very nice .
I am very very grateful to Optique Doctor and staff for making a very scarey situation into a nice experience you dont usually find in a huge Metro area like Dallas.

This was my 3^rd time here and I don’t think I have ever had such a rushed checkup. The staff is extremely courteous but also beware although they have an excellent selection of frames everything is way overpriced in my opinion so make sure to shop around before you buy.
Back to my check up, the doctor saw me for a total of 5 minutes. He asked if everything was okay and I said no my eyes have been getting very very dry at night and he seemed to dismiss it or not really pay attention. He went on checking my vision and when he was done he said okay that’s it and I had two remind him about my vision dryness, at that point he was ready to move on to his next patient so he ends up giving me two samples of eye drops and said try these and that was it.
I then asked him about LASIK surgery and his ears perked up because he said Oh I’m a partner with a LASIK firm let me refer you to them, at that point I decided not to continue on with them because everything seemed to be about the money. It wasn’t like that before. Maybe it’s because of the area they’re in. I am all for businesses making money but there has to be a balance between profit and service. It’s not just these guys I think most services in Uptown are like this now it’s all about churning out people making the most money but doing it in a pretty office.

This is a great boutique style optical office in the Uptown area. They’ve got a wonderful selection of designer frames ranging in price points and brands so there’s something for everyone who’s in the market for on trend professional frames and sunglasses.
Dr. George Ormwell is fantastic and very easy to talk to, his assistant was hilarious and put me at ease, and I don’t typically like having people poke around my eyes.
I had no trouble getting an appointment before the end of the year and that’s typically the worst time to try and get in as a new patient (they got me in the next day after I called)
Another solid plus, this place is open until 6pm during the week, and take their last patient @ 5:15pm — if you live around the Uptown area, you’re more than likely working till nearly 5pm, making this place ideal.
Megan L. in their retail frames store is phenomenal. She’s great at showing you all the newest brands and styles and has a great selection on site, if you don’t see something you like, or they’re sold out of a particular color, she’ll order it for you; and makes great recommendations in regards to what looks and fits good on your face. Finally, for the ladies out there with eyelash extensions or just naturally super long lashes, she can have your frames made to accommodate this so your lashes don’t consistently rub up and down on the inside of your lenses.
I will definitely not being going in anywhere else when I’m in need of sunglasses or the once a year I get my eye exam.

My last visit here was better. Before they were double charging me for 2 office visits just to write a prescription for restasis. I was diagnosed with dry eye years ago after lasik surgery. I’ve never been double charged.. I told them this time it would be my last visit so they just charged me for the eye exam. If your going to be greedy don’t expect the clientele to keep coming back.

My experience was wonderful! From the eye exam, contact fitting and selecting my frames. I bought 5 pairs! I was surprised that my contacts were in stock as well. A special thank you to Gonzi for making everything so effortless. I give the whole team a big high-​five!

I love the team at Optique! The staff is welcoming, friendly and efficient. I scheduled my appointment within 3 business days and my glasses arrived in record time! The lady in the frames store is downright impressive at her job! She selected two frames that she thought would compliment my features and waited patiently while I tried on far too many on display. Ultimately, she knew best and I left with one of her original suggestions! I absolutely love my new specs!

If you’re looking for frames, look no further. Veronica and Jean are the absolute best, they are genuinely invested in finding the perfect frame for you. It’s more than just a job for them, you can tell they are passionate about making sure you’re happy.
From the moment I walked in, Veronica and Jean made me feel like I was at home. The exact opposite of how I felt at Eye Pieces (DO NOT GO THERE), the snobs working there didn’t even ask if I needed any help when the entire store was empty, and they weren’t even busy. They probably thought I didn’t have any money to spend because I don’t dress extremely fancy (their loss, I ended up purchasing glasses that totaled up to $ 800 at Optique). Not to mention Eye Pieces’ selection is god-​awful, Optique is vastly superior in both products and customer service.
How else can I say this? Veronica and Jean! Veronica and Jean! Veronica and Jean! Twenty seconds after talking to them I knew that I would not be visiting any other store to look for glasses, they’re that good! Totally worth the time, totally worth the drive and totally worth the money.
I have never written a Unilocal review in my life… That’s how good these ladies are, they were so amazing I was compelled to come here and spread the word.

Great eye doctor. Professional office with great staff. I had an issue with ZocDoc and the office work very hard to get to the bottom of it. It’s took a little bit but the issue was corrected.

I had a not-​so-​great experience here. The only reason I came here is because they’re on my insurance plan, close to work, offered designer frames, and they were open for business on Good Friday.
I walked in with a brand new prescription for eye glasses and because of the way it was written, they had to call the doctor to see if they could fill it (he decided to take off for the holiday while his staff worked). The good doctor said NO. Because I have a very unique prescription, they didn’t want to be on the hook for having to re-​do my lenses if my optometrist re-​did my prescription. I made the mistake of telling them that my doctor wanted to see me back in three weeks to check my vision after I’ve had time to get used to my glasses and there was a possibility that my prescription could change. The lady I was dealing with seemed to zero in on this and most-​likely conveyed to her boss that I would need an entirely new prescription in 3 weeks. I had to correct her TWICE during our conversation that this was not a certainty, but the damage had already been done and they were not going sell me lenses. As a consolation, as I was being ushered towards the door, she said I could certainly buy my FRAMES from them and get the lenses somewhere else. Yeah, right. Why the hell would I?
Not only that, but my prescription has something called «prisms» — 18 to be exact. The girl who verified my insurance said that those were not covered under my insurance plan and that I would have to pay $ 180 bucks ($ 10 per prism), out of my pocket — in addition to whatever amount wasn’t covered by insurance. (I found out later after going to another doctor’s office that prisms WERE indeed covered by my insurance and they only charged $ 4 each). What a difference! Just goes to show what a high mark up this business has. Some people may not mind spending the extra $$$ out of pocket, but I do.
I am giving a 1-​star rating for the following reasons:
1.) Incorrectly quoting wrong information on my insurance coverage
2.) Extremely expensive — high end swanky boutique
3.) Hastily being hurried out the door after the woman got off the phone with the doctor like I was some kind of pariah
4.) Suffering the humiliation of getting kicked to the curb with my prescription
5.) Having them call me on my cell phone while I was sitting right outside their front door in my car (in tears!) — to tell me I had left my old glasses sitting on the counter
6.) Having to suffer the indignity of walking back in there
The woman offered me a word of advice. She said the next place that I go to, don’t even mention that I have to go back and see my eye doctor in 3-​weeks and that they may have to re-​do my perscription.
I hate this place and the shabby way I was treated. Fortunately there was a silver lining… Please check out my glowing review for Today’s Vision in Rockwall.

Hands down THE BEST EYE DOCTOR in North Texas. Dr. George Orm is amazing and everyone who works in his shop is awesome. Jean will rearrange appointments to get you the day and time you need. This shop has GREAT brand selection and new options coming in all the time.

I’m always super hesitant about trying new eye doctors and after searching on Unilocal I decided to check this place out based on the reviews. Check in was super fast and they were very helpful on the phone when I was having trouble finding the location. Everyone I encountered was helpful and friendly! I LOVE that you no longer have to get your eyes dilated (if that tells you how long it’s been since I’ve been to the eye doctor). Dr. Orm was quick, precise and do the point. Also very friendly! Turns out I needed two prescriptions and new glasses and the lady that helped me out (sorry I forgot her name) was extremely helpful! I’ve had to buy several pair of glasses and in most cases no one ever seems to want to help you out or give their honest opinion on how they look. She walked me through the cost and what insurance covered for each brand and we tried on several pair and she was quick to give me her opinion which helped tremendously! In the end got a great pair of glasses and left happy with my experience! Thanks Optique team! Can’t wait to get my new glasses!

I have been using Optique as my eye-​care provider for several years and have always been pleased with the service they provide. I only go into their office once a year, but year after year, I always tend to go back. They have a wide selection affordable to high-​end frames to chose from. I am particular about my frames and always go in knowing exactly which ones I want. If they dont have a particular frame, they will always order them for me and I get them within two days. They are always helpful, quick to return my calls and get my glasses to me. I am always impressed with the service and professionalism.

I am thoroughly impressed with this practice! I called Monday as new patient, got an appointment today (Wednesday) and went in for what I thought was a routine check up. I was greeted promptly and seen within 5 minutes of being there. The front office staff was fast, polite, and personable. The young lady who did my pre exam testing was great as well. Dr. Orm saw me quickly and was thorough throughout my visit. He showed me the images of my eyes they took before my exam and talked to me at length about wearing glasses for nighttime driving. I had lasik almost 4 years ago so this was a little tough to swallow, but I am definitely satisfied with my experience. I tried on 8+ different frames and ordered my glasses within 15 minutes. I was told that it would take 7 – 10 business days to get them ready, but to my surprise they were ready in an hour and a half! The lady who helped me order my frames was knowledgable about my insurance and very professional. I could not have asked for a better experience!

Writing this review as I sit here waiting for them to find my contacts that I ordered SIX weeks ago. They’ll probably still be looking after I finish writing. Any takers?
The doctor is nice and all, didn’t really blow me out of the water.
These front desk girls are highly questionable. I called them one month after my appointment to see if my contacts were in. I gave them my name and heard them gasp on the other line and said they would call me back. 4 hours later, I called THEM back and they said they ordered the wrong contacts for me and blamed it on another employee there.
They would be in about a week later they said. Come get them, no problem they said.
One week later I called back and they said they’re still wrong and that they’d call their vendor and call me back. Again NO CALL.
I call THEM back again and they agreed to give me samples to hold me over. I show up today and they took forever to find samples of the contacts I DONT use because they don’t have enough of my brand to give me. Then a girl tries to argue with me telling me they called and kept me informed. I think not. Do not give yourself credit for something you didn’t do.
They are currently running around calling their vendor, blaming their vendor for sending it incorrectly to them three times. I spy user error. Once wrong, maybe it’s the vendor. Twice, that’s bad luck. But three times ?!? That’s just plain stupidity.
Don’t come here unless you like ordering things you don’t get. I might as well call their vendor for them since I’m the one contacting the office all the time anyway.
I am done writing this and yes they are still looking. At least I’m efficient.
PS, just overheard the girl say she knew somebody who lived in ArmaDILLO, Tx. It’s Amarillo, fool. Just saying.

Dr. Orm is the man! Haven’t been satisfied with any of my previous optometrists, but Dr. Orm took the time to give me a thorough examination and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I CAN SEE!

I have found my forever eye doctor!

This was my first visit to the eye doc in who knows how long and it was pretty painless. You can schedule ahead on Zocdoc and also provide basic health info in advance so you don’t have to fill it out in the waiting room. They also offer text message reminders for your visit. It’s a nice office and all the staff were friendly and quick. The eye exam was nice and they explain each step and answered all my questions. I don’t need glasses or contacts, yet, so I didn’t veer over to the shop but it looked like they have a nice selection. I’ll definitely be back again next year for my annual.

I have had one not so great experience here, but my current experience made up for it. Dr. Orm may have been having a good day today and not such a good day the first time I went. Who knows.
What I like is the way he makes sure your contacts are right for you. The last time I went (2010), I was told they didn’t sell the contact lenses I wanted (which was not true). I wanted Acuvue Advance but was talked into Acuvue Oasys –which I’m allergic to. So, after requesting and requesting what I knew I originally wanted, I ended up buying both. Ugh! This time I am trying something different. While I see well with Acuvue Advance, they tear easily.
The ladies at the front desk are always nice & I’ve been able to get an appointment the same day I called — which was perfect since I tore the last pair I had the morning of the current visit. :-(
