As the business grew, it soon gained notoriety as being one of the best glazing subcontractors in the industry. Oak Cliff Mirror & Glass Co., Inc. moved into its existing building in 1956. Shortly afterward, the large sign that sets atop their new facility was granted landmark status by the city of Dallas. When the age of glass in high rise construction came about, Oak Cliff Mirror & Glass Co., Inc. was right there to play a large part in building Dallas and the local communities from small one-​story buildings to skyscrapers. I am so appreciative of this local Oak Cliff company. Since I buy frames from Antique dealers for next to nothing, having a place that still offers this service is key.
I just found out yesterday that my local Home Depot stopped offering glass cutting services due to liability concerns. While I understand their financial and health concerns, $$$$. They should also know how inconvenient it is to buy glass from one store and then have to go to another business across town to have it ready to hang.
And while Oak Cliff Glass and Mirror sales these items, their lack of volume compared to a multi national chain like a Home Depot or Lowes simply cannot compete.
My time saving tip, bring the frame with you to ensure a proper cut and fit of glass. Believe me, two wrong cut pieces is a waste of precious time.

The woman who answers the phone is not helpful and to schedule anything is nearly impossible because the guys that meet customers leave at 3:30 in the afternoon and so the last appointment is at 2PM. Really? They are booked out over a week!
This doesn’t seem like a company that wants my business. I have used them before with iffy results on the glass product I received (glass shelf not made to proper size and fell off mount shattering precious crystal and keepsakes) and I wanted to give them a second chance. I need to rethink this. I wanted to use a local business but jeez they make it nearly impossible and with iffy product — I’m out.

Had a custom piece of glass made for my coffee table. It came out perfect and looks great! Only took two days to make. Their hours aren’t the best, but we made it work.

I needed a new (large) window for my house. The came, measured, estimated, fabricated, and installed, all on time. The installers were professional, and installed it in 45 minutes. And they hauled off the old, heavy window, while cleaning up as they left. They also explained each step of the installation.
When I go to replace some other fogged up house windows, they will by on my call list.

This was my first experience with Oak Cliff Glass, and I will definitely be going back for any related needs. All I had was a piddly little job; I only needed a small strip of decorative mirror for a cabinet front, and they were just as attentive as if I was a big commercial customer. They even threw in a tiny round mirror piece for free. The offices are very clean and in a cool mid-​mod building just across the river from downtown. Very easy to access from either the new bridge or I-​30, you drive right to it.

Debating over a 2 or a 3 star, so rounding up. Hired these guys to make a custom glass table top. it was not cheap, but it was well done and they finished right on time. The only minus was that they wouldn’t cover the piece in anything but butcher paper, despite the request for cardboard, when we picked it up. Oh, well, it made it to its destination without incident.
Pleased with the quality of the glass top, we invited them to come out and bid a bath shower door job. The guys were late and very unfriendly. They told us they would send their quote within 24 hours. 4 days later, some lady in the office phoned to say that they were sending over the quote. We had already hired another firm (they had come out the same day as OCGM to measure) by then.
Probably would hire them again for glass I could pick up, but wouldn’t call for install jobs.

You need glass? Man, this is the PLACE! First, my kid broke a glass-​top table in the livingroom. DAMN! But I brought it to this place, and a week later, presto-​chango! And with tempered glass to boot!
Now my future husband and I are re-​doing this house (should have torn it down but what the heck?) and the whole thing is done in single pane (or should I say pain?) glass. Oak Cliff Glass came out, took all the measurments, and gave me a great bid to re-​do all the glass in the house. .. it’s gonna look like a bank, I’m telling you!
If you need some custom glass work done I recommend these people. Beside a super bang-​up job, they’re even nice about it. LOVE!
