I’ve spent my entire life around dogs, and I’ve always had a knack for understanding them. Throughout my teens and adulthood, I’ve refined my training methods based on experience and extensive study.

After a successful career as an IT professional, I decided to retire and devote myself to the most rewarding career I can imagine: helping dogs and their owners.

My wife, Haven, and I were both raised in Dallas; we currently live in the White Rock Lake area with our own jolly pups, Edgar and Lucy. Haven and I support local and national animal charities, and we have adopted and rehabilitated sheltered/​abandoned dogs. Our adoption experiences have taught us that even dogs with histories of serious mistreatment can blossom in loving environments. In fact, our own pups were the inspiration for this business.

Jolly Pup has been so professional and responsive. My corgi adores them. Walks and visits and a lot of love. Their positive reinforcement approach is the only thing I accept and Wes has been such a great find.

Wes is awesome. He sat our 2 dogs for about a month when my wife and I were on an international trip. We lived 4 doors down from him so he was able to stop by 2⁄3 times a day. They didn’t have to be boarded, which was a big plus for us. In fact he emailed us a daily report, which gave us comfort that they were being looked after by someone who truly loves dogs. Do yourself a favor and give him a call — your dogs will thank you :)
PS: Wes quit his day job (a few years ago) to do this on a full time basis, because that’s how passionately he loves dogs.

We had a great experience working with Wes. He was incredibly patient with my 8-​month-​old goldendoodle. My dog is timid around men, and was beginning to act more aggressive. Wes helped us work through how to build up my dog’s confidence and specific steps we need to take in order to more successfully socialize him with men. We are very grateful! Thanks Jolly Pup, I’ll recommend your service to my other dog-​loving friends and will be coming back if I ever need something!

My wife found Wes /​Jolly Pup to help out with our «blended family» of three dogs — my two large (50+lbs) senior citizen mutts, and her 10lb Yorkie — the Yorkie thought he was 100 lbs., but I digress… Wes helped us not so much with training, but simply dropping by let them out of the house a few times per week when we were working late. The oldest dog, Ethyl, was a 15 year-​old blind & partially deaf boxer mix. Special needs, to say the least… Wes’ help was invaluable during the last year of Ethyl’s life, he was incredibly accommodating to the crazy dogs and their crazy owners — from emergency vet trips to advice on handling an old handicapped dog and everything in between, Wes was great to our dogs and to us. I don’t trust very many people with a key to my house or with my dogs, but we trusted Wes with both and are VERY happy we did. Unfortunately we moved outside Wes’ service area otherwise we’d still be using his services! No hesitation here about recommending Jolly Pup!

Are you looking for someone who understands dogs? If so, look no further than Wes, owner of Jolly Pup. He is amazing! Our young Labradoodle is a little skittish around people and other dogs and he came in and had her interacting with other people in no time.
He came to our house and thoughtfully created a plan for our pup that worked for specifically for her. No cookie cutter approach to dog training here. Wes helped our little one with her confidence and barking at everyone that came within a quarter mile of her. We still have work to do with our Labradoodle, but Wes has set us up with a great plan including his interaction as we need. So much different than other dog trainers that came with a single approach to our pup’s needs and became frustrated when her insecurities took longer than the trainer cared to take. Wes, instead, is patient and moved at our pup’s pace.
Jolly Pup also offers dog walking and boarding, but I can’t speak to those services. I wouldn’t have any hesitation though in using him for either of these in the future.

Wes is the best! Needed him for two weeks in a row. He always texted when he was arriving and when he left. So reliable! PLUS the pups loved him. I would recommend him in a heart beat. He’s so natural with the pups & happy I found him!

As a someone who recently adopted a dog but had absolutely no dog experience, I’m really glad that I found Wes at Jolly Pup. Wes has been reliable when it comes to walking my Dixie and is always looking out for her best interest. As a new dog owner, I’m really glad that Jolly Pup provides someone who knows dogs well enough to know when there’s a problem or who can suggest a solution to a behavior issue that I might be stumped on. I feel good knowing that my pup is in good hands when I’m not there!

It’s no secret that I’m a helicopter pawrent. I adopted little Lola in September and have no idea how my life carried on without her. Two months ago I took a job with that involved a significant amount of travel. After sending Lola to the boarders and having her usual energetic self cower and hide for days post boarding, I decided to call Wes with Jolly Pups. Wes took time out to get to know Lola and I have to say that she was immediately enamored with him. Wes texted me with pictures of my furkid each time he took Lola for a walk and visited. That communication put my worried mind to rest. Even better was being greeted at the door by my energetic little Lola post my travels. It’s like I never left (which in the case is a good thing.)
