Mapleshade Spa

I found this place through Groupon about a year ago, and what a treasure I discovered! It is in an older house and a little difficult to find as it is kind of down a hill behind a nursery. This place is more than worth the effort!!!
I went my first time as I said a year ago and had a very nice facial. Yesterday I saw Pam Moore and I found a wonderful esthetician!!! I had been helping MIL move, stressed & mostly needed a good exfoliation. This was all I told her at first. As we all are these days I was stressed and in a hurry getting ready for something that evening. Pam was EXTRAORDINARY… and I don’t throw those kind of reviews out very often. In fact – I used to go to Georgette Klinger when they were in town and I believe I got a better facial from Pam than GK!!. I mentioned a few concerns & she didn’t try to upsell me (usual estheticians are too busy trying to sell more); Pam has a servants heart and just quietly transformed not only my face but my entire stress load left the building. She was absolutely phenomenal!!! She also used what I call «those magic rocks» massaging certain area, felt like feet wrapped in paraffin… she just truly gave me a wonderful hour packed with heaven!
I know you can find newer, «slicker» places for a spa… but why? They have all services imaginable and the entire environmental focus is on relaxation!!! They have a bunch of other services I’m interested in. Stay tuned!!!
Only thing to note is parking. I called & asked where to park. City of Dallas trying to decide about their new parking (safety) because they are above a creek. Since I live in Dallas I know how SLOW they are to deal with! Do not allow that to be a deterrent; call now and get on Pam Moore’s book! You will thank me!

I loved every bit of my first visit to mapleshade spa! I went to see Kayla for the classic 1 hour facial. I originally went with a groupon but already pre booked my next visit. it is worth every penny! Kayla is knowledgeable, thorough and has the perfect touch. the spa itself is calm and cozy and much like a home rather than a spa. can’t wait to go back! ps– they offer you wine!

The good: friendly, not pushy or trying to over sell, I enjoyed the facial I can’t really compare it to other experiences because it is probably only the 2^nd one I had in my left, the facial included a foot massage and upper shoulders/​neck, hand and arms. My skin felt great afterwards and no blackheads or skin irritation or anything. I did not wait long maybe 5 minutes and the facial was a full hour.
The bad. The parking situation is a little weird. You have to park kind of on the side of the road in dirt. To be honest the place was dirty. My robe was off white and had a small orange stain. A lot of dust on walls ceiling, dirt on doors around the door knob, dust on fans, dirty cabinet drawers, I used the bathrooms upstairs and downstairs both rugs in bathrooms looked dirty and for some reason in the bathrooms it smelled like cat urine?.
Overall services were good reasonably priced and they offer a variety of services along with good hours. The place definitely needs a scrub down. It really needs a thorough cleaning.

I bought a 3 facial deal from Groupon. I live very near Mapleshade Spa and have always heard good things. I decided this was the year I was going to make facials a part of my regular routine! Kayla gave an excellent facial. It was relaxing and she made sure I knew what she was doing each step, along with the products she used. I’ve never been one to notice big improvements in my skin after a facial, but still enjoy getting them. Well now, several days later, I am pleased with how fresh and young my skin looks! I can’t wait until my next facial with Kayla.

So I found the is place through Groupon and after seeing the reviews on Unilocal I decided to go ahead and buy a facial just to try the place out.
I was able to get an appointment same day and the staff was very friendly. They didn’t try to up sale me to a different package.
I liked the old feel to the place and thought was very attractive. I was taken upstairs to have my face worked on.
When I was left alone in the room to change into a robe, I noticed the bed covering had dirty gray stains as if it was old and needed to changed or washed for that matter. The chair that I placed my purse on was old and the cushions were worn out.
The facial was nothing I imagined. There were too many breaks in between the process and I felt like she was just letting time pass by coming around ever 3 – 4 min to do something to my face.
Before the facial, I was asked what my problem area was and I told her the black hair on my nose and the ones I was staring to have on my forehead close to my hairline. After the steam, she probably worked on the area for 2 – 3 minutes. I though wow, she is quick.
Once everything was done, again they didn’t try to see me anything else.
When I got in the car and looked at my face I was very disappointed. The black head was still clearly showing on my nose and I was very disappointed. I got home and used a nose strip and there was so much that came out on to the strip. That goes to show you that she did not do a good job.
I don’t know who writes these reviews but my experience was really jot a good one. I don’t know if it was because I had a Groupon or what. And I must say, I tipped her extremely well since I thought it was a Groupon I was using. Oh and the person I used in one that is recommended in the other reviews. So go figure!!!

This is hands down the BEST spa in the Dallas area. I have tried so many spas in this area for years and this is by far the BEST. Awilda is your go to for facials. It doesnt get any better than this gal. She is awesome! Lisa is your go to for full body massage and her reflexology is out of this world. It’s intense but we all know it has to be in order to be beneficial to your entire body. No pain, no gain. Get in on the 3 step detox progress now, the infrared sauna is the best way to detox your body. Mapleshade is doing things right and hiring the best of the best therapists!

I have always admired the looks of Maple Shade Spa so I stopped by there last week to see if they had an infrared sauna as well as other services. Because I am on a cleansing detox diet Kelly suggested I book an appointment for reflexology as it is good for detoxing as well as the infrared so I did. Never in my life have I paid for someone to inflict pain upon me as Lisa did. Told her she was hurting me & she said you’ve never had reflexology before & I said «yes, i have but its been a long time & I remember it to be relaxing & helpful». She continued to put an enormous amount of pressure on the instep of my right foot. I continued to complain as she also squeezed my toes with enormous strength as she pulled on them. i t was different than any treatment I’ve ever had. She finally let up when she started on my left foot & it is okay. However, my right foot hurts & I am sure she bruised the bone. This is not a life threatening injury & had it been done properly I would return as I thought the atmosphere was very charming. Have had many massages at various spas & know that sometimes you have to endure a little pain to repair the problem, The reflexology was not done properly & I will not go back for any of their services. When it was over I asked Kelly, receptionist, if my total was $ 70 total & she said yes & then proceeded to tell me it was regularly a $ 110 service and I got a really good deal. I tipped 20% on the $ 70 and left. Again, I can’t believe I endured the pain and paid for it. I am not asking for a refund but they need to find a qualified reflexologist before she injures someone permanently & I hope my injury is not permanent. In closing I would like to say I have never ever had any problems with my feet. My back hurts occasionally & hips & legs when I overdo any exercise but never my feet. My right foot hurts now!

Having decided to incorporate a facial in my «me time,» I tried Mappleshade Spa with a Groupon and have been going there ever since. The service is amazing and Sharon is the best aesthetician around. She is extremely dedicated to providing the best type of service based on the current condition of my skin. I highly recommend Mappleshade Spa for great skin and/​or «me time.»

I purchased a groupon for 3 facials. I checked Unilocal to make sure the quality was good here before purchasing and I am a satisfied customer! The 2 negative notes I would say is that before I purchased the groupon I had asked them what line of products they used, and they told me Eminence which I have heard many good things about this line. Then when i got there I was told the groupon I had didnt use that line, it used Mapleshade Spa line that is good too but just a step down. I had to pay $ 10 extra to use the good stuff. Just wish I had known that before. Secondly, I wish they had online scheduling system. I had emailed them to schedule my appointment but they requested me to call them instead.
Moving on, my facial was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep. The products smelled so good I wanted to eat it off my face =X The head massage at the end was perfection. I think I will have ever –lasting glowing skin after my 3^rd facial… I cannot wait to go back in Feb for my next facial!!!

Pam gives the best facial I have ever had! She takes time to evaluate your skin, makes recommendations as to appropriate treatment, then gives a fabulous facial including a hot stone massage on your arms and shoulders and warm booties on your feet with a foot massage. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxing and the staff at the front are very welcoming and professional. I could not ask for a better hour long treat for myself that also helps my skin!

I have searched high and low for a spa in Dallas since moving from New York. I have finally found a perfect place. I bought a groupon for a facial and decided to add a massage. I had Leah for a facial and Jose for a massage. It was a wonderful experience, the environment was so relaxing as it is in an old Victorian home. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Already booked My next appointment. Highly recommend!

Finally used some Spa Finder gift cards and tried out Mapleshade Spa. I found that their massage therapist, Lisa, has «magic hands.» In her massage of my legs, feet and toes, she was able to do more for my neuropathy pain than all the meds I’ve been taking. Thanks for the great job, Lisa!

Wonderful facial with Leah

I’ve been for 3 facials now. This place is wonderful. The people are so friendly and very knowledgeable. They’re very passionate about what they do. They’re a bit pricey but I can’t stop going. I feel like I’m coming home when I walk in. I was asking about a product today and an elderly man, Frank, came from the back to help. He very confidently told me that I have a cool vs warm skin tone, what colors would flatter me most and them proceeded to tell me about a conference he went to once where Cover Girl was and him and a bunch of other guys sat down with them and worked on a project. I could have talked to him for hours. If you get a facial, ask for Elizabeth. She is amazing! If you can spring for it, get the 90 minute facial. You’ll be glad you did.

I purchased a groupon for a facial. The service was very satisfying, I was greeted upon my arrival and did not wait long for my facial. My esthetician was very knowledgeable about skin, sorry I can’t remember her name. The facial was wonderful and it included a hot stone massage for your feet and arms which was a plus! The spa is located in a Victorian home, which is unique and cute, it is actually a lot bigger inside than it looks outside. The parking does need improvement, when I went they were doing construction so I had to park on the side in a gravelly area, but I will not rate them on that because overall my visit was pleasant!

Located in a lovely 2 story house right off of the George Bush turnpike, this location is absolutely perfect for those of us living in Plano/​Dallas. I was warmly greeted and asked to fill out a few quick forms, then whisked away to the treatment room. I’ve been working my ass off at work, so I treated myself to the 2 ½ hour «Harmony» Package. I started out with a sugar scrub — I’ve never had one done before, but this was lovely. I never realized that I’ve never actually exfoliated my back. There’s something purely luxurious about having someone scrub your back! After a quick shower, I continued on to a Swedish massage, and my gosh, my back is a wreck. Jose was wonderful — he spent extra time on my neck and back, reminding me gently to relax and allow him to do the work. After a delicious massage, the fun continued to a facial. Elizabeth performed extractions like a boss — 0 amounts of pain and epic amounts of glowing, happy skin after. All in all, totally work the price, and a wonderfully relaxing spa day– highly recommend!

I have driven by this place and always wondered what it looked like inside. Luckily over the holiday I got a few gift certificates and was excited to see they accepted SpaFinder credit.
This is a full service, head to toe spa. I bought a package that included a body scrub, massage and pedicure. Regardless of my certificate I found them to be very reasonably priced bundles. My favorite part was the massage and pedicure. Every technician was very kind and I was never left waiting long between services.
Overall a unique space and a great experience.

I was given a gift card to Mapleshade by my boyfriend for my birthday and I just got back from my hour long «lush lavender shea butter» massage, which includes some body brushing as well, with Cathy. It was a dream. Before the massage we discussed what areas I wanted worked on most and the nature of my job and how that would affect certain body parts (I get stress headaches from my desk job). She was extremely knowledgeable and communicative about what I could do to alleviate some of my regular bodily pains. I plan on going back in the next few months and seeing Cathy again.

Loved my facial and massage! I was glowing after I left there. Cute old house converted into a spa! Great job girls!

We visited Mapleshade today for a couples massage. The place is adorable (an old house, turned spa) but unfortunately our massages were just OK. Having both had numerous massages in our lives, we weren’t very impressed. The place is so cute that I’d consider going back for a pedi or something, but not likely a massage.
