Majestic Theatre Dallas

The Majestic Theatre In downtown Dallas is wonderful place. We have been to this venue around 4 times. We have seen mostly comedians here. And had a great time at all the shows. We always try to get seats in the mezzanine box seating it is upstairs with plenty of seating room. You are in the little sections off areas. The view is great and the place sits around 1700 people according to the web page. The main floor seating is very good but the seats are tight. So almost all the seat are pretty good. But I would stay away from the very top balcony that is pretty far up there.
The Majestic is the old style Theatre built in 1920’s and is very pretty. The parking is not that bad there is an event parking garage across the street. And it is 5 dollars. The drinks at the small bar in the lobby are very expensive but that is the norm at these places.

Great place! Had a great time during a concert. Kids there could have been more controlled but other than that great venue.

This venue’s name suits it perfectly… it is majestic. The architecture is breathtaking inside this historical beauty. In response to negative reviews about acoustics, there is a reason for sound boards and artists should take the time to adjust. I have not had a problem with either show I have seen here. I agree with the feedback about balcony and loge/​«presidential box» seats being incredibly close together. For an average sized person, your knees will touch the chair in front of you. The chairs also lean back (too much so in my opinion) which makes it even more awkward and borderline uncomfortable. For loge seating you are literally even with the first few rows of the orchestra level, but I recommend the fourth row pair because it is raised a step above the first three for better viewing. The first three rows you have to lean out a bit in order to see which is fine for the person on the edge, but makes things harder to see for the person near the door. A few of us ended up standing by the door for the encor to see better and take a break after sitting in the awkward seating. There are decent parking options within walking distance that accept cash or credit card. Overall a wonderful venue to experience.

Caught a show here last night and it was absolutely stunning! Acoustics were spot on and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. Every corner of the theatre is beautifully ornate and historical. I will buy tickets to another show soon just to get to go inside and explore this gem some more.

I was fortunate enough to have row B, seats 5 – 6 for the acoustic Chris Cornell Higher Truth concert. He is a favorite of mine from way back in the day of Soundgarden. I’ve followed him throughout his entire career to date. Last night he did not disappoint. The sound was great as well as his performance! One that will not be forgotten for me. The only part that I didn’t care for, was getting to the restrooms. They were downstairs; not close at all. Other than that (and the faint musty smell that I would expect in a building that old) the Majestic is top notch. Second on my list of favorite venues for music. First being Dallas Music Hall. This place is a sight to behold! The ornate walls and gold molding are absolutely gorgeous! I’ve never seen anything more beautiful. The entrance chandelier and the feeling of entitlement you receive when you step in the doors takes you back to an era that has long been forgotten. If you get a chance to knock one of your favorite artists off of your bucket list at the Majestic Theater, go for it! Buy the best tickets you can get and soak it all up! It’s worth every penny!

Yes it is a pretty and historical venue. It might be good for a talk show but not for music! Went to the Zombies concert and it took the Majestic sound crew the whole first half to figure it out. Loved seeing the Zombies as they are top notch.

What a beautiful venue this is. Originally opened in 1921, falling out of use and then reopened in the 80’s, you still feel as if you’re stepping back into the old world.
I was lucky enough to get seats for the Mark Knopfler concert; Row A.
First off, the doors open and everyone piles into the lobby but then they hold you there for another 30 minutes or so. Enough time to buy over inflated beer at $ 7 for a domestic, or $ 3 for a bottle of water. I think I’ll wait.
Upon entering the theater itself, it appears there’s two overhead balconies and two smaller ones either side. The whole building was beautifully decorated and the chairs were actually comfortable.
The sound was a bit dodgy to begin with, could hardly hear the singing over the bass but that was adjusted and pretty much fixed by the 3^rd song.
There’s only seating for about 1700 people so it’s a very intimate gig, and I spoke with a few people who shared their love of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler’s music.
There is nearby ground parking and a large parking garage nearby in easy walking distance which only cost $ 5.
I’d love to come back and see some more shows in the future.

I like this little cozy theater. It reminds me of a couple of theaters in NYC off of time square. The balcony is precious and the décor is dated in a glamorous way. I do think the seating is not that great. Meaning some sears are much better and not every seat is a good view. However, it’s a theater so you should anticipate that. All I all this place was cozy and served drinks. A win for me.

Came here to see Anthony Bourdain. Parking is awesome. Parking next door is 5 bucks.
It’s a great beautiful theater. Any seat here is pretty good as long as it’s on the lower level. It’s a pretty intimate venue and was perfect to see Anthony Bourdain speak.
They offer drinks that are slightly over priced. Wine was $ 8 – 11 as well as the beer. They even sell fireball shots apparently. Some old lady laughed at the shots.
Can’t wait to attend another event here.

I had a great time here. I saw Todricks oz the musical like 4 or 5 years ago and then this year I saw his other performance called toddlerz ball the tickets prices were just right I only paid 35.00 per ticket i brought binoculars because I had forgotten how far the stage was from the seats but I didn’t even need them at all. I was on row h center it was perfect. I wouldn’t mind coming here for another performance. Their concessions are a lil high for me. Cocktails 11.00. Bottle water 3.00 and canned soda 3.00 other than that it was great. Bathrooms were located on the 3^rd floor !

I have been to the Majestic Theater three times and loved each visit.
The venue’s historical aspect is romanic and nostalgic for me. I feel like I am part of something bigger when I am there. Obviously, some seat views are better than others but since it is a small venue I don’t feel like you can get a bad seat. The seats are smaller and close together so keep your fingers crossed you won’t be stuck next to an obnoxious group.
I have only seen comedians here so I can’t speak for the acoustics in a music setting.
Tips: There tends to be a line to buy drinks so plan to arrive a little early. Also, bring cash for parking.
Side note: Dane Cook and Joe Rogan were awesome! I saw Jim Jefferies last night… NOT SO MUCH… obviously I thought he was funny enough to buy tickets (haha, for my date to buy tickets) but this particular tour is lazy comedy in my opinion. People stopped laughing and we left before it ended. I was happy to be there but happier to leave.

I really enjoy older venues like these. The cool Art Deco touches and smaller capacities provide a more intimate show as opposed to seeing one in a giant arena.
I’ve been here a total of 3 times now. The first was for Vince Vaughn’s Wild West comedy tour when my mom scored us front row seats and nearly gave me a heart attack by yelling to Vince that I was in love with him. The experience of being front row here though is definitely something I would pay extra for again in the future.
The second show was with my husband to see Kevin James and we were a lot farther from the stage but still had a great time. I feel like you get a good view from any seat, and they even have cool balcony seats available.
Last night we came to see Noël Gallagher, as my husband was an Oasis lover back in the day and has been following his solo career since. Noël puts on a great performance and it was probably the first one I’ve ever been to where there was no opening act or intermission. He kept the chit chat to a minimum and went straight through his 70 minute set which I found refreshing for a change.
The drinks are expensive, but that’s to expect at any concert these days. I got their Majestic champagne cocktail and it was good but not worth the $ 11 price tag. Parking wasn’t bad on the other hand. We found a garage directly across the street that only cost $ 5.

This is an historic gem in Downtown Dallas. You really feel like you are stepping back in time — to like the 1940’s or 1950’s with the grand staircases and high ceilings. It hosts a fair number of concerts, but it should be a more frequent venue for bands and comedians. There is a ground floor with seats and then two balconies that put you close to the stage.
And as many people said, Majestic does not always accept credit cards for the bar service, so cash is king.

This is an intimate theatre with an old school feel. We came here for the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Musical, so that it why I checked the box that this is «Good for Kids.» There was plenty of noise and crying that worked fine for this show, but probably not for others. They had a cash bar that was serving up all kinds of drinks that you could take into the theatre. You could also bring food in.
The entire process was very informal. We had seats in the orchestra level 4^th row and found them ourselves. The sight lines are great and people were seated in the pit since there was not live music played for this particular show. The bathrooms are located on the lower floor and there is an elevator that can take you there for those who can’t use the stairs. There was plenty of street parking or you could be in the garage across the street.

Overall a great experience. This is clearly a well-​run theatre that truly knows how to handle crowds for the big shows. It was an efficient process to get everyone in and seated, and a great use of the upstairs areas pre-​show for the VIP meet-​and-​greet. They have plenty of bars open so that you never have to wait long for a drink. I wasn’t impressed with some of the bartenders. I had to explain how to make a gin and tonic to one of them! Seriously! Overall, though, this was a very pleasant experience. It is GREAT to finally see something historic and grand in Dallas — that is still in use.

Old world opulence meets modern day entertainment at this historical landmark, which stands as the only remaining remnant of «Theater Row» (the historic entertainment district of Dallas). And while it has retained enough splendor to host a ballet, it was originally constructed as a vaudeville house, meaning it lends itself well acoustically to a variety of acts– comedians, musicians, etc. (both of which I have personally attended and can attest to).
Aside from the theatrical aspect, the theater is also well managed and efficiently caters to patrons at the bar before and between acts. The sweet and handsome but ethnically ambiguous manager runs a tight ship and ensures that attendants monitor closely for bright cell phone screens and other performance distractions.
The performers are as mixed as the patrons– from Wanda Sykes to Nickel Creek, and therefore draws a wide range of ages and demographics. Parking is as easy as it gets downtown, as there are multiple adjacent lots and parking garages.

This is definitely a vintage style, old school theater that thankfully still showcases some wonderful artists! Do yourself a favor and check out a show here. I love the way the seating is set up and the sound is good anywhere you sit! I saw John Legend here a while back and it was amazing! I’m definitely on the lookout for more of my favorite artists and when they will be performing here.

The Majestic is a grand old theatre harkening back to the 1920’s. Although its gilded walls are not quite as gold and decadent as they were years ago, it’s still a great place to see a band. I’ve had some decent to very good seats on the floor for the two shows I’ve seen, but I think any seat in the house will likely be just fine. Even floor seats all the way back are much closer than seats at the back of Fair Park Music Hall. Ample bars around the lobby, but head to the balcony upstairs for shorter lines and good people watching over the railing.
Sound quality has been very good for what I’ve seen, although in fairness it has been two of my favorite bands/​musicians of all time so they would sound good in a parking garage. Still, it’s nice to have a little character and history in the venue when you are out on the town for a fun music show.
I’ve parked in surface lots just east of the theatre on Elm and paid about $ 5 each time. Oh and bring cash cause the bars are cash only and a premium mixed drink or nice imported beer isn’t cheap here! Certainly not 1920’s drink prices! For my Makers Mark I think I paid about a month’s 1920’s rent but it was worth it.

Great velvet seats, good sound, very intimate setting. Great place to see a show.

I was blown away by the décor in this venue. The chandeliers and mirrors were gorgeous. Parking was super easy and close to the venue which made things very convenient.
I will say that our seats were in the balcony and it was difficult to see the stage when the comedians moved to the center of the stage. The bathrooms were also on the bottom bottom level of the venue.
I would definitely come back to the Majestic Theatre. But, I might splurge on some closer seats ;)

The Majestic is an old school theater. It has that classic look and feel (and smell) to it; all in a real cool way. From the time I entered the lobby to arriving at my seat I was impressed by how the architecture and décor had been preserved. Many classic theaters I’ve been in have attempted to hide this with more modern décor. Thankfully that was not the case at the Majestic. From the Greek style columns to the red velvet upholstered seating it was classic all the way.
There is a Concession Stand on the main floor in the lobby that sells all types of snacks and beverages (including alcohol; top shelf). As it is a cash bar, they do not accept credit/​debit cards. Note, the alcoholic beve
Parking is relatively easy as there are a couple of $ 5 garages nearby (one is actually directly across the street and the other is across the street from first garage).
I look forward to returning to the Majestic in the future for another production and/​or comedy show.
