Kwik Kar – Uptown Dallas

I have been going here for at least 10 years. The employees are always friendly, helpful, and honest. I recommend this location constantly.

I appreciated Juan taking his time and doing the job correctly (transmission drain and fill, brake flush). Prices are reasonable. I agree with others that the up-​sale was not pushy, mostly informative. I am careful with mechanics and I think this team’s intention is to do quality work and the team seems capable.

I was in and out of here in about 30 minutes, and Juan was very helpful! There’s always that dread when going into an auto shop that your one issue will turn into twenty, and while I was not an exception to that, Juan was very informative and made me feel less like I was falling into a money trap and instead actually doing something to help myself and my car in the long run.

Stopped in to get my car inspected. They walked up right away to assist me, and I waited in the office area. It was clean, the inspection was quick, and everyone was very friendly.

The first thing I learned here is that there are no Smog checks in Texas. Apparently the equivalent is a safety and emissions (or something like that) evaluation. Which explains why there were so few options on my Unilocal search for «smog checks» in the area. That being said, I’m plenty content that this place showed up.
I came in on Friday evening, probably not most people’s favorite time for a customer to show up, but they were friendly, polite, and patient as I tried to find my insurance info. The waiting room was very clean, with cold water bottles and coffee, and there were a TON of recent magazines (with pretty good variety). As far as the smog/​check itself– it was quick and they got the job done =)

I went to this place 5 minutes before closing on a Friday night because I needed air in my tires and was going to drive cross country the next day. They let me pull my car up to the bay, filled my tires while I sat in my car, checked to make sure the light had turned off and sent me on my way. I said, «what do I owe you?» And the guy said, «Nothing! Have a great night!»

Whenever I come here the service is always excellent. Very nice and helpful technicians. The wait time is never too long, and they provide updates for you very regularly while waiting. It is never too busy, at least whenever I’ve gone, I’ve always been able to be seen almost immediately. It is also very conveniently located, which is always a plus!

Fast, friendly, efficient service is what I am looking for, and Kwik Kar Lube & Tune delivers! Of course, they recommend additional maintenance when you take your car in for an oil change, but it is easy to say no if you don’t want additional work done. I will be returning for all my oil changes and car inspections.

They tell everyone that your car is «special» but it’s not every car is just different of course a oil filter for jeep doesn’t fit a civic your a quick lube so stock oil filters for every car and don’t charge extra because I drive a normal car. It’s $ 30 for a oil change? But then you say I have a 4×4 so it takes a extra quart of oil? That doesn’t make any sense if I bought the 2×4 model is still the same engine…, and besides who Charges a additional $ 35 for a extra quart of oil anyways?

ok. I don’t write reviews often but I have vowed to start writing them more when places deserve it. I drive a luxury SUV and I was a bit hesitant about taking it to this shop and not the dealership a few miles up 75 at first. But, I haven’t had a great experience with the dealership the past couple times so I figured I’d give it a shot. I’ve gotta say the service was fast and $ 28 cheaper than the dealership. Overall, my experience was great and I found the staff to be pretty solid folks. I will definitely use these guys again.

Not even worth checking in because the $ 10 off offer is so specific — only for oil change and brake flush —and the employees have no idea of the offers available anyways.

I have since spoken with the owner and manager to express why I didn’t feel taken seriously when I went to the location, including the pressure to purchase things even when I informed the staff I had recently had it replaced at another location. I came back to have an incredibly kind staff member flush snot-​looking gunk out of my washer fluid tank, and it works now! I still didn’t feel terribly respected by the other men I met with, but I do appreciate that they fixed my washer fluid sprayers and did not charge me. I’m especially appreciative of the sweet fella who had to do all the work for me, as it was quite nasty!

the employees at Kwik kar are always helpful. I am always interested in what is going on with my vehicle. most people do not like being «sold» extra stuff. they have told me that yes they do sell you stuff. but it is preventative maintenance that the manufacture says you need to have done on your car to prevent future issues. I will be back and suggest that everyone should choose this place

My wife and I have been bringing our Lexus ES350 and Jeep Grand Cherokee here for 4 years with consistent, thorough service.
I became loyal to Kwik Kar after they were able to instantly fix an issue that Sewell Lexus couldn’t fix after two tries.

I took my BMW here for some basic 90k mile service including inspection, new air filter, oil change, etc. I was pleased until a week later all of my dashboard lights are on and my battery is dying. I then remember them telling me they couldn’t reach/​find/​check my battery so I took my car to a different shop. They tell me that in addition to replacing the battery, the cap was left off of the oil and had spilled all over my engine which could have ruined the new engine coils or even caught my car on fire. Displeased, I called and spoke with Will the manager. Instead of taking an opportunity to excel in customer service he was defensive, rude, and said «mistakes happen». I will not be returning here and would not recommend it to anyone.

Came here for a state inspection and had an amazing experience. The entire staff was very courteous. Will definitely be back for additional car maintenance.

I will never return to this Kwik Kar. I should’ve gone to the one on mockingbird like I always do because they have always treated me with the upmost respect and honesty. This Kwik Kar from the get go was accusatory and didn’t care what I had to say. I was nice at first, but couldn’t handle being treated the way I was.
First and foremost employees need to learn customer service. Secondly STOP JACKING UP YOUR PRICES!!! $ 200 for a battery replacement and service is absolutely ridiculous. The last 10 years I’ve been driving I have NEVER paid over $ 140 for a battery and service.

DO NOT GO HERE.
…unless you’re into terrible «customer service» and ridiculously marked up services. Do some quick googling and calling around to other shops (who don’t have ²²⁄₄₂ 1 star ratings) and you’ll see for yourself about the prices. The customer service issue is by far the worst.
I took my car in Saturday late morning for some work. My car had some issues, and they needed to do a $ 65 «leak check». Okay, whatever. I tell them I have to be at my 2^nd job at 1pm, so I had to go. I ask them to please call me and give me a quote and we would go from there.
I get a call later with a quote and a «we can’t get to it today but bring it by Monday and we’ll fix it.» Easy enough. I tell them I can’t pick up my car by 5pm when they close because I’m at work and ask them to leave my keys somewhere I can get them. The guy says «sure, we’ll leave your car unlocked and your receipt and everything will be in there.»
I call again to double-​check right before 5pm and they assure me that they «do this all the time» and my car would yes, be unlocked.
SPOILER ALERT: I show up at 630 and the car IS LOCKED. With the keys inside. It’s Saturday night and I can’t leave my car there unattended for a day and a half. Who would? Especially as the only car in a Kwik Kar parking lot, anyone could tell there were probably keys in there. My ride take me home to grab my extra keys (which aren’t working) and then the shirt hanger technique doesn’t work…
Fast forward two hours of waiting for a locksmith and $ 105 later…
I call the shop Monday on my lunch break to see if I can get reimbursed or at least work something out. I MEAN, SINCE YOU GUYS LOCKED MY KEYS IN MY CAR.
Nope. I explain what happened and the first thing out of the owner’s mouth is a snappy «I’m not paying for that.» Not a «I’m sorry that happened.» Not a «I’m sorry we screwed up.» Not a thing. Not even a «I can’t reimburse you but here’s 10% off blah blah blah». Only a lot of:
«I’m not paying for that. I can’t just open up my pocket and give you $ 100 for this».
«That’s your fault you should have waited till Monday»
«That’s not how a business works.» But don’t you see that YOUR EMPLOYEE locked my keys in my car?
«I didn’t do it it’s not my fault.» But isn’t your employee your responsibility?
Like, it’s simple. You had the keys to my car. They were in your possession. When I get there, they’re locked. Not only is this super inconvenient, it’s money out of my pocket for something I shouldn’t have to be dealing with.
Best part? Getting hung up on when you say you took your business elsewhere. Like, really?
What business does that? Isn’t that backwards? Aren’t customers supposed to hang up on owners and employees and customer service reps? Not the other way around? I’ve had more constructive customer service conversations with people at Time Warner Cable.
It wasn’t even about the money. It was more about the complete lack of any sort of resemblance of «customer service». This place didn’t see that it had put me out two hours and $ 105, and they didn’t care in the slightest.
I hope you made the most of that $ 100 I gave you for the leak check and oil change, Kwik Kar. Cause you (and any other Kwik Kar) won’t see a dime from me ever again.

I’ve been coming here for the past year or so and have had nothing but great service and reasonable prices. I’ve used them for oil changes, scheduled maintenance and mechanical repairs. The team always reviews any work beyond an oil repair beforehand and walks me through what they would do if it were their car. The prices are always quite a bit less than the dealership, and in line with other reputable service shops in my experience. I’m sure I could find a cheaper option at some hole in the wall, but I’m not necessarily looking for the cheapest to keep my car going. I’m a mechanical engineer so I know plenty to not get ripped off.
All in all the prices are fair and they do good work.

Very nice, very quick and very helpful. A little pricey, but they get the job done are trustworthy. I got a quick oil change, wiper replacement and air filter changed during Thanksgiving weekend and I found the process to be stress free. The total damage was about $ 150, which stung pretty badly since I was only budgeting for a synthetic oil change and a few other minor issues were brought to my attention. Still he knocked off a few bucks for me, got me in and out in a flash and was friendly to me as I waited in their office.
Another tip… go here early (before 9AM) on a weekday and they automatically give you $ 10 off. Good to know if you can swing it with your schedule.
